P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

This coaster has overtaken TTD and Wicked Twister as my most anticipated CP Ride when I go this june. I want to ride it so bad, but it's still another 16 days til I go...

Ah well...Just wondering, is the queue jam-packed with Joe Cool club members when you get in? Hopefully the line isn't like 5 hours...

Let me save you the disappointment. From my experience, anyway, Wicked Twister sucked. Thena gain, I rode somewhere around the middle(They needed a single rider so I got to cut in line). So if you ride:

1) make sure to ride the edges

2) dont be too dispapointed if it aint that great(im not saying its not, jsut syaing dont be disappointed if it isnt)

3) I suggest dont make any sacrifices(like miss out on short TTD lines or whatever) to ride it.

Well Flipdude...few things.

You wont ever find a short TTD line and a long Maverick line, so dont worry.

Secondly, the air is insane and I doubt many will think the air was meh - only the most hardcore pessimists will think that.

Thirdly, Ill protest TTD the entire year if I have to make my point. Maverick makes all but two other rides (magnum and Raptor) pointless to ride.

I'm quoting this for truth. I really feel it's my No. 2 coaster at the park. It's behind Raptor but it bumped Magnum to No. 3.

i Can say one thing after getting two rides on it yesterday. One in the front one in the back. that this ride may be one of the best ride in the park. I went in to it think it was going to be good but not as good as the ride was. I can't wait for robb to ride it to see what he says about it

........wow, Magnum or Raptor is not even on my list........I'm gonna compare it to MF and TTD (in the pure fun to ride dept.) when I go in a week......which is 1 and 2 for now with me.

Wow, mavericks looks os awsome....me wants to ride it

But I also have a comment, everyone says this ride has a stengle dive, but it hasn't got a single one. The deffinition of a stengel dive is :

"Stengel Dive," comprising of an overbanked turn built into the top of an airtime hill.'

Those 2 hills are no airtime hills, for example, if Goliath@WW wouldn't have the banked part it would just have a good airtime hill with some turnage. However, if Maverick would have a flat or slightly banked top all of the rides would die. So its not stengel dive, just an ordenary overbank.

Still, its a awsome ride, can't wait to ride it!

Maverick certainly does have stengal dives. This one and this one would obviously be air hills if they continued going straight. This one would just have to turn after the apex instead of continuing as a full air hill, though. Both, however, ARE stengal dives.

I don't think so, from what I've read, the only thing that was on in the lake area was that fountain over the canyon that the former heartline roll navigates. Many reviews said that the water bombs weren't on yet.

I thought that Maverick only had one stengal dive, which was the one before the last airtime hill. The turn that goes under the drop doesn't look like it's banked enough to be considered a stengal dive, but I guess I must be mistaken.

^ Have you got any pics of the water bombs working?

Did anyone know today was media day?

Well if it was Media day today we should see some good videos soon! Also this would probably be the day that they would film an official POV so shouldn't be too long till we see that appear on the website! They did say they planned to film one this week or soonish.

Hi guys, Jon here from the Maverick crew. Just thought I'd drop in on behalf of the crew and thank everyone that's ridden for making the way out to the park the past week and getting on the ride. We're sorry about any delays, but we hope the line's been moving fast and we're keeping downtime to a minimum.

For those of you who haven't ridden yet, you need to. Yesterday was media day, which meant lots of enthusiasts were there to ride, and their opinion is the same as mine: Maverick is AMAZING. I've now been on the ride three times, once in the back during the day, twice in the front during the day, and once in the front at night, and every time I ride it I end up liking it more. This is easily one of the greatest coasters to be built in a long time.

As far as some of the effects (mist in the tunnel, water bombs, etc.), we're working on it. That's all I can tell you is that things like the water bombs will be working or not working for a little while so we can test them and make sure they work properly. For example, yesterday the water bombs were working perfectly when I left, but we were also running semi-empty trains, so that's still something to work out. Hang with us for a little longer while we get these extra things working.

Once again, thanks to all that have come out to ride it, and if you haven't yet, I expect you to at least give it a shot next time you're in the area. Oh, and don't forget to say hi to me, I don't bite.

Thanks guys,

-Jon

Me and a buddy of mine are driving 3 hours to CP only for the day solely to ride Maverick...and it will be his first time to CP. I was there May 17th and 18th watching them replace the track. What part of Maverick do you work at? Like do you check restraints, sit at the entrance, etc. If I see you I'll say hi!
