Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping they took all the forces into consideration, but to be fair, arrow and vekoma looping coasters haven't, to my knowledge, snapped any necks in their inversions, so I'd say it's pretty dougbtful from Intamin.

I was really hoping for another Tatsu at Cedar Point, and I was kinda bummed at hearing that this was going to be a "small coaster" and then after I saw the layout . . . hey, damn, I'm in- it looks great. Hopefully I will be there early next season to ride it. Not what I was expecting, but that's not a bad thing either.

^^I think that'll be one of the last things. Because they need to line up each LSM segment PERFECTLY, like within a nanometer. otherwise the magnetic fields will be thrown off and it wont do its job.

Of course this is all assuming I know what im talking about, haha. I do think it'll be awhile before they do because the whole manager of construction type person said that the LSMs would be a difficult process to go through, and that it would take perfect precision to line them up.

There's a chance I might go there next year and I WILL ride that thing. It seems like a cool ride, but I don't think it would be a coaster for the whole family to ride, but Maybe a die-heart roller coaster family yes, but with all the twists, curves and the speed I'd say no.

Ok time to end the "Lift or Launch" debate as quick as TTD's LTB debate started hahaha..

Read the fine print at the top please hahahahaha.. it says "2 launch areas" does this mean its NOT considered a lift? LOL! Sorry..

Its a lift. Easy way to define this is the long distance and lack of continuous acceleration. Lift speeds can vary, but they vary small amounts over longer distances. Launches vary great amounts over shorter distances.

Even though it uses LSM's, its just a LSM lift.

Just get over the debate. If you cant figure it out, thats sad.

Agreed.

But to add to that, you must look at what the launch is doing. It is replicating the traditional lift. When the train gets to the top of the hill it is cresting the top at a slow speed. If it were a launch then the whole point would be for it to go over the crest with a large amount of speed. But all the LSMs are doing is shortening the time it takes to get to the top. So yes, if you look at just the LSM section, then its a launch, but if you look at the entire hill, then you will realize it is just a modern lift.

Hey Robb on that picture you said "there is something in this picture that looks wrong...."

Is it that banner on the Mean Streak saying voted one of the top ten best wooden roller coasters?

Thats what I thought it was, too.

Cedar Point has posted some aerials from the top of Mavericks lifthill.

Also, they moved the webcam so it's showing construction of the station.

Lastly, they seem to be adding a different video clip everyday on the mainpage.
