jamesdillaman Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I'm hoping they took all the forces into consideration, but to be fair, arrow and vekoma looping coasters haven't, to my knowledge, snapped any necks in their inversions, so I'd say it's pretty dougbtful from Intamin. -James "Can't wait to use my CF Maxx pass to ride this next summer" Dillaman

MARK Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Does anyone reckon the theming could be more elaborate than what they showed in the videos? Or is what was shown going to be just that?
jamesdillaman Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 I'm hoping they get that MUCH. This is CP, after all, and I'll believe their theming in the video when I see it finished! -James ";)" Dillaman
JamesMC Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 I was really hoping for another Tatsu at Cedar Point, and I was kinda bummed at hearing that this was going to be a "small coaster" and then after I saw the layout . . . hey, damn, I'm in- it looks great. Hopefully I will be there early next season to ride it. Not what I was expecting, but that's not a bad thing either.
robbalvey Posted October 9, 2006 Author Posted October 9, 2006 I've updated the TPR construction page with lots of new photos: http://www.themeparkreview.com/cedarpoint2007/cedarpoint2007.htm. Thanks to the guys at www.pointpixels.com for the new photos! --Robb
coasterlover420 Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Ooo, catwalks! I can't wait until they start installing LSM's!! I'm going to ride this the first day it openes! Man, I'm excited!
summerof72 Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 i havent been to Cedar Point in years....sad, really, since i only live 4 or 5 hours' drive away..... will definitely have to get back there.... : )
TexTitan01 Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 ^^I think that'll be one of the last things. Because they need to line up each LSM segment PERFECTLY, like within a nanometer. otherwise the magnetic fields will be thrown off and it wont do its job. Of course this is all assuming I know what im talking about, haha. I do think it'll be awhile before they do because the whole manager of construction type person said that the LSMs would be a difficult process to go through, and that it would take perfect precision to line them up.
DarkStitch626 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Ok time to end the "Lift or Launch" debate as quick as TTD's LTB debate started hahaha.. http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/fun/wallpaper/images/maverick_layout_1440x900.jpg Read the fine print at the top please hahahahaha.. it says "2 launch areas" does this mean its NOT considered a lift? LOL! Sorry..
Ccron10 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 There's a chance I might go there next year and I WILL ride that thing. It seems like a cool ride, but I don't think it would be a coaster for the whole family to ride, but Maybe a die-heart roller coaster family yes, but with all the twists, curves and the speed I'd say no.
gotdane Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/latest/webcam/ The little hill after that ridic-overbank looks airtacular!
CedarPoint420 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 New update on PointPixels! http://www.pointpixels.com/4images/categories.php?cat_id=405
Real Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Ok time to end the "Lift or Launch" debate as quick as TTD's LTB debate started hahaha.. http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/fun/wallpaper/images/maverick_layout_1440x900.jpg Read the fine print at the top please hahahahaha.. it says "2 launch areas" does this mean its NOT considered a lift? LOL! Sorry.. Its a lift. Easy way to define this is the long distance and lack of continuous acceleration. Lift speeds can vary, but they vary small amounts over longer distances. Launches vary great amounts over shorter distances. Even though it uses LSM's, its just a LSM lift. Just get over the debate. If you cant figure it out, thats sad.
TheBannedKid Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Agreed. But to add to that, you must look at what the launch is doing. It is replicating the traditional lift. When the train gets to the top of the hill it is cresting the top at a slow speed. If it were a launch then the whole point would be for it to go over the crest with a large amount of speed. But all the LSMs are doing is shortening the time it takes to get to the top. So yes, if you look at just the LSM section, then its a launch, but if you look at the entire hill, then you will realize it is just a modern lift.
robbalvey Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 New pics added today: http://www.themeparkreview.com/cedarpoint2007/cedarpoint2007.htm Thanks to PointPixels! --Robb

waterviper Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Hey Robb on that picture you said "there is something in this picture that looks wrong...." Is it that banner on the Mean Streak saying voted one of the top ten best wooden roller coasters?
Chase Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Oh that looks nice. Does it compare to Millenium Force?
CedarPoint420 Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Maverick is finally a completed circuit. http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/latest/gallery/
CP_RULES Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 ^NOOOOO! You beat me to it, I just noticed that the track is complete and I wanted to be first..... Anyways, I think the ride looks awesome, its great that its done so early. They better have some damn good theming!
gotdane Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Hey Robb on that picture you said "there is something in this picture that looks wrong...." Is it that banner on the Mean Streak saying voted one of the top ten best wooden roller coasters? Thats what I thought it was, too.
ECZenith Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I love the aerial photo showing the entire layout. Won't be long now until the trains arrive.
CedarPoint420 Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Cedar Point has posted some aerials from the top of Mavericks lifthill. http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/latest/gallery/ Also, they moved the webcam so it's showing construction of the station. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/webcams/index.cfm Lastly, they seem to be adding a different video clip everyday on the mainpage. http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/
