This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Ocean Park, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. While I was not able to go to Ocean Park, I was able to take these two pictures of the cable ride as I was driving by. I hope with Robb's upcoming trip he will take many more pictures for us to enjoy.

Red Panda in Oceanpark HongkongRed Panda is far from the China's giant panda. The Red Panda, also called the Firefox or Lesser Panda (Latin name: Ailurus fulgens, "shining cat"), is a mostly herbivorous mammal, specialized as a bamboo feeder. It is slightly larger than a domestic cat (40 - 60 cm long, 3 - 6 kg weight). The Red Panda is endemic to the Himalayas in Bhutan, southern China, Pakistan, India, Laos, Nepal, and Burma. There is an estimated population of fewer than 2,500 mature individuals. Their population continues to decline due to habitat fragmentation. In Oceanpark of Hong Kong, there is a park specially for red panda. [/img]
I just saw two of them right here, on TPR! (start cheap "pop" from crowd)
In all seriousness, I've never seen one other than these pictures. The Omaha zoo doesn't have them even though they are rated 3rd among US zoos. At least that was a couple of years ago. I hate Godzilla! I hate him too! He destroyed cities!
