  1. This is FANTASTIC news, I love these coasters, nice to have one here. As for where to put it, that parking lot strip might work, its usually used for adminstrative parking.
  2. I love my Soul, so happy I got it, went from a 2000 Tiburon to this, funny, same beta 2.0 cast irom 4 cyl engine, its a tank of an engine, my tib had 170,000 miles and still ran awesome
  3. $3.75 in Albuquerque After reading these california prices, I don't feel to bad
  4. I am a bit confused, while I will never buy a Hummer ( I should not say that, everytime I do, I end up with that car, damn Buick Skylark), anyone should be free to do so, I love cars, and understand, when you see something you like, no matter how impractical, its special. I just bought a new car I am getting slightly better mileage than a Hummer, at about 32mpg, which is above EPA woo for Manual trans, anyway, I do like the view out my front door now 2011 Kia Soul 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 1976 Camaro 350 with Turbo 350 trans and a ratchet shifter, fun fun fun
  5. I can tell you why I dislike some rap its the same reason I don't listen to any metal on the radio, everyone is pretty much copying everyone else I'm not into rap at all, much more of a rock/metal person, but I have heard some underground stuff a friend of mine showed me that was fantastic, (don't ask the band name, that was a few years ago, and I don't remember) Its the same in Metal, alot of the music I listen to is not mainstream, its main purpose is not to be an true expressiosn of the artist, its to make money, some people can do that, and still be creative and good, but the vast majority can't I am certainly not saying all commercial rap is bad, there are some that I find myself tapping along to, but I appreciate the true nature of underground music, thats just me, i guess
  6. I work at a hospital in Albuquerque, we are somewhat close to regular mexico, being in New Mexico There are additional hand sanitizers and stuff, but it presents in healthy adults as a mild flu, the mortality rate is less than a regular flu, which is estimated to kill 500,000 people annually It is/was a good test of how we would handle a pandemic, but this was not it, they most likely will include a vaccination in next years flu shot for this strain of flu. I have no problem with the reaction, but thank GOD it was not the killer we thought it was
  7. Well mine are 3 and 9, and I work graveyard, So I am Technically not dead, but you should see me when I get home in the morning But that said, I CANNOT wait for April 1st, so I can ride the Rattler, it gets to this time of year, and I start REALLY needing a coaster

  11. I think its a GREAT time to buy stock For VERY cheap, I have purchased GM Fannie Mae Freddie Mac AIG I have put about $500 in the market (its gambling basically, so make sure you can lose it) Fannie and Freddie will be returned as they were with better oversite, and values should go up, this is a long term investment, like years GM is WAY to big to be valued at $5 a share, yes they have money issues right now, but gas prices are falling fast, and some of thier cars in the pipeline, like the Chevy Volt, which should have a MPG rating of 100mpg, should bring life back to the company. Gm also may be getting direct federal loans, aside from the 25 billion gauranteed in the new bill passed by the senate (for upgrades for the new MPG requirments) 50/50 chance Chrysler and GM may merge, also REALLY intresting AIG has only taken out a loan, and issues perferred stock to the goverment to back the loan, Shareholders are trying to raise capital to pay the goverment back quickly, when that happenes, the shares will go back up again, if only one of these companies returns to its former glory, I will have made my money back, and then some. If you have faith in Ford, its at about $2.00 a share, they are a HUGE global company, and make some awesome cars in europe, not so much here. Lets hope they start doing what GM is doing, and start having global cars, it brings up the quality here, and cuts development costs by ALOT, thats why Toyota and Honda have been so succesful, build cars for every market, it makes sence, you should see the Ford Focus in Europe, its a tad bit better than ours European Focus American Focus
  12. That sucks I have never had that issue with my Wii Actually, I have had no issues with any of my systems of late, I have all three, and even my 2 year old 360 still works great The olny thing I can think of is make sure there is PLENTY of ventelation around the machine
  13. No I believ he said, "no one believed Bush would win in 2004 ..... never underestimate the ill-informed and under educated" This thread is turning into a bash the republicans thread, which is very VERY offensive to me, I choose to vote this way because is the way I believe, I see you comparing Palin to a stripper, which is in a word, disgusting Thank goodness I am old enough to have a small amount of respect for other peoples beliefs, I am reporting you all to a moderator, this is rediculious
  14. The only reason why I would not agree with a "forget Palin" strategy is simple. We (democrats) in 2004 didn't think that Bush would have a snowball's chance in hell of getting re-elected. Well, here we are 4 years later. Never underestimate the power of the ill-informed and under educated in mass numbers. Most people in this day and age tend to gravitate towards that which makes them feel warm and fuzzy, no matter what the message is. Palin, for whom I will reserve my own derogatory comments, is an excellent public speaker and possesses the power to influence idiots on a colossal level. Hell! She even had getting closer to the TV even though I'm a fairly well educated man an know better. You know... being a gay man myself, I've resigned myself to the fact that "gay rights" will be a long, hard fought battle. The gay community is going to have to rise up in unity and make declaration and notice with one voice. We should all be focused on making sure that we don't set ourselves back 50 years where basic human rights and health is concerned. To declare all abortion to be bad abortion is to revert back to a time prior to Roe vs. Wade where women were going to back alleys and rouge doctors. To deny that sex education needs to be taught in schools is just as bad. Palin is looking/sounding more like an antagonistic & militant Donna Reed every day. Hello, I must be ill-informed, and under educated ........ Hi Thanks for totally insulting me for making a choice in my vote When I voted for Bush in 2004, it was because I researched the issues, and felt he was the best choice for what was important to me, I am not a moron, I ran the security department for a county hospital, and now have a decent paying job at a university My suggestion is to not use broad offensive strokes of idiocy when posting about people and thier very personal choice your very offended friend Chris
  15. EXACTLY, they are speeches and the like that attack the other canidate, justified or not, and speak to the party's base, both are the same, and both have had great conventions
  16. WOW!! Well, what can I say Just like Obama keeps harping on McCain for saying Middle class is anyone earning under $5 Million ( A joke by McCain, by the way), I can see that the slant against Sarah Palin is still in force As a mayor of a small town, she was acting in the best intrest of her town, that was her focus, tell me you would not do the same thing, Federal polotics was not on her radar at that point, very unfair The bridge to nowhere WAS initially supported by Sarah Palin, the she decided that it was not the best way to spend alot of money, Obama has change position during the presidentail campain, why can't Palin change her position as a governor As for Obama's record, The fact remains, and as wierd as it sounds, Obama HAS written two Memiors, and never wrote or inacted any major law or spearheaded any change to the status quo in washington McCain HAS fought even his own party to change the influence of Big Tabacco, Election finance reform, and many many others, if you take the time to look at his record, you may be suprised, and then you would understand that Obama trying to cast him as the tird term of Bush is not only innacurate is laughably funny As for Palin experience, she has run a state, balanced a budget, negtiated some serous deals for her state with big oil, and the group building the natural gas pipeline, she has delt with serious energy issues, Obama has done none of this, and as one Alaska democrat put is, the polical landscape of Alaska is littered with the people who have underestimated her. The national Guard, she actually went to the middle east and met with her troops from Alaske, so that gives her about as much time over there as Obama This can go round and round, the fact remians, peoples choices are very personal, but the attacks against Palin this past week have seriously been very pathetic, and extremly personal, I applaud her for taking the attacks, the "contibutors" who questioned her ability to be a mother and a VP, she stood up to that and showed them why her approval rating is around 80 to 85%, she is impressive
  17. Sarah Palin was, in a word, Impressive If you agree with her or not, to be under that kind of pressure, and be able to speak as strongly as that was very impressive. I do believe I know why McCain chose her, now I REALLY can't wait for the VP debates
  18. Being 19, you should know hiow much most teenagers listen to thier parents Its a fact of life, she obviously made a choice, and is now having to deal with the results of that choice, Its not fair to assume that just because Sarah Palin is for Abstince that her own daughter cannot make mistakes, she a teenager, these things happen to every family, no matter the upbringing, the important thing is for her family to love her unconditionally, and support her I am actually pretty ticked off that this type of thing is being discussed, Even Obama said to leave it alone, it is a personal family matter, and has ZERO to do with Sarah Palin, and what she brings to the table, there are many MANY other valid points to discuss about McCain's VP pick without having to drag her family situation into this, very bad form
  19. ^^^^^ That is WHY he was biscally pushed my some Democrats to run for President, Obama has tried, but he also did not vote, in his short time in the senate, on some of the more important and telling issues I absolutly LOVE people pushing Obama as the canidate for change, when he has worked to system so succesfully, and promises no real change for how the system works, or dosn't I should say McCain has actually made change a part of his career, and pissed off a ton of people, including his own party in the process. How can anyone think a McCain Administration will even come close to resembling a Third Bush Term, I could just say that an obama term will be a second Jimmy Carter administration, which would be just as accurate Now with the choice of Sarah Palin, he actually choose someone who also fights the establishment, and FIGHTS for change and against coruption, that is what I want in Washington, both of them have that record, McCain is the TRUE change canidate, if you don't believe me, try reading about his history, amazing and brave stuff he's done in the senate
  20. Thats the truth, Obama, has lzero experience as a person actually in charge of anything, senators vote as a group, and individually have little or no power I think the Pick is risky, but from what I can gather, she is not to be messed with, Biden may be in for a shock during the debates, she is a very VERY strong woman, and, to put it simply, doesn't take crap from no one I think everyone here complaining about here experience should relize one thing, Obama has about one more year total experience in goverment, and its as a senator, not a leader, She has been in charge for Two terms as a Mayor, then 20 months or so as a Govenor, and in that short time has done some REALLY great things for Alaska, Her aproval rating is around 80%, thats says alot
  21. Agreed, the ironic thing is, most of those animals would die in the wild, because they have been cared for by humans thier entire life, and do not know how to care for themselves I could see the headlines now The corpses of the former Sea World attractions wash up on local beaches GOOOOOOOOOOO PETA
  22. Much safer in Iraq? I'd go as far as saying as it was much safer in Iraq before we invaded. To say we're almost done there is an absurd statement. What have we done? What are we doing? What have we accomplished in the many years we have occupied that country? You should know why we were sold the war. We were told a) Iraq was involved with 9/11 b) they had connections with Al Qaeda, and c) they had weapons of mass destruction. None of that is true. And please sense my sarcasm when I say... it's a good thing we did invade Iraq. Halliburton received all of the contracts to rebuild and liberate this nation, and that's where the moneys at. Not money we will see, however, but money that will line the pockets of the rich and corrupt, like Dick Cheney himself. It's a shame, however, some people still don't realize. And now, because of the policies, and immoral war, started by our current president, we have one of the worst economies in the history of the US. We are in a recession, the value of the dollar is plummeting, gas prices are skyrocketing, and a depression like we have never seen before is looming over us. Picture a future where you will have to roll wheelbarrows full of money to buy a gallon of milk, and a gallon of gas costs over $10. This is a very real not so distant future. And I prelude all of that to say McCain is more of the same. His answer to the oil crisis is to drill for more oil even though that will do more harm than good, and any miniscule effect it has on prices will not be seen for over a decade. Funny, he's willing to sell out the marine environment to keep with the oil-guzzling status quo. He's another corporate wh*re, willing to stay in Iraq for as long as it takes... for all of the wrong reasons. First, on McCain, have you ever read his history, and some of the things he;'s about Even now he disagree's with his own party on global warming and is pushing for cleaner alternatives, that does not exclude drilling to help ease the current situation as we move forward Now on to Iraq Iraq was ruled my a murderious dictator who, duiring his rule killed hundreds of thousand of people. Although the intelligence that started the war was incorrect, everyone who voted for the war should share equal blame if you hate it so much In the end, the U.S. should do the honorable thing and leave Iraq in a state where it truely can stand on its own, we did destroy the infstructure of the country, now we need to put it back together and give it back to the peope of Iraq. Now onto the current economic situation How you can link the War to the current credit crisis is beyond me, either its just mad hatred of Bush, or you are choosing to ignore the fact that the war is pumping billions into our own economy The current economic situation was caused by two thing crude oil futures going through the roof, thanks to forcasters who were wrong, so all those wonderful allies in the middle east just made a boat load of money Fannie Mae and Freddie mac, and the adjustable mortage, these companies were giving away loans to people who should not have them, and the whole country is now paying the price, kinda like the dot com bust, do you remember that, Clinton was blamed for that, but in reality the president has very little true power over the economy. And if you think this is some of the worst economic times, you must be pretty young, gas crunch of the 70's, stock market crash 1987, dot com bust, they were all bad times, and not significantly worse of better than our current situation
  23. Actually, that makes perfect sense to me, and thats how I feel about that also. Which is why I said most, not all of the things I agree with. Careful, Guns are not polically correct, even if your totally correct watch this I used to live in California, where guns have been looked down on as evil, now in New Mexico, Guns are socially accepted, its been a learning experience, and learning about guns had lead me to the same conclusions this ABC story reports seriously, even if you hate guns, watch this
