  1. 6 360's, WOW, Ive gone through one, then when my replacement arrived I put it on top of my bigscreen and added the fanstand from pelican, and it has been flawless for over a year, I really think the fan stand has been a big help As for the Wii, hardware wise, nintendo has always had great hardware quality, and some good games I do not own a Ps3 yet, I'm waiting for a great reason to own one
  2. At this point, with Walmart, Circut City, and Best buy all having the toshiba unit for $99 there really is no reason to buy the 360 add-on, besides, if your setting up a top quality hi-def system, do you really want it anchored by a video game machine
  3. Awesome band Posted: Sun Jul 31, 2005 2:24 am I also like Arch Enemy Killswitch Engage In Flames Dark Tranquility Iron Maiden Edguy and many more European metal bands with classic metal influences
  4. I will buy it, but I'm going to wait, probably untill after xmas, when all the hype has died down That said, The Halo 3 launch is predicted to be the biggest entertainment event in history, with estimates of $150 to $200 million dollars in first day sales, pretty impressive, no matter if you like the xbox or not. I did get a Wii, but after enjoying it for the first few moths, it sits disconnected in my room, I am still playing my Dreamcast like crazy, and really love my 360. My Wii will be reconected for sure, but not untill I finally finish Grandia 2 for the Dreamcast
  5. is the south park movie a musical, because if it is, it easily gets my vote, not the best ever, im sure, but the best I've ever seen
  6. I actually live in Rio Rancho, NM which has a population of about 70,000, but is a part of the Albuquerque metro area, so Albuquerque, which is about 5 miles from my house, and is easily the largest city in the state
  7. I want to see transformers REALLY bad, I was a HUGE transformers fan, I still have my G1 Optimus Prime I only wish they used Frank Welker for Megatron, but i will reserve judgement, at least they used Peter Cullen for Prime But alas, I am going on vacation this next week to L.A., and may possibly hit up disneyland (first time since '89), I will do a huge TR if we do I bought my first transformers toy the Pontiac Jazz (from a porsche to a pontiac, sucks to be jazz) and they are very well made, and quite complicated to transform, which is good, because when the toy is transformed, it looks good As for the other movies, Ratollioioierioe will be seen by me by default, I have two young kids, and I would like to see the new die hard, but may wait for the DVD, maybe
  8. Which of these am I going by? Do these sinners really encourage others to do so, do they simply approve of the actions and partake in them when made possible, or do they all stick together to do what they do? That's a pretty hefty difference in my opinion when trying to determine what it means. Of course, this rendition of 1:28-32 from "The Message" is my favorite. Now, I've never been given a prize for being gay. This must be the version that the Phelps family follows since (this directed at those specific radical groups such as Westboro Baptist, and not respectable Christians) they obviously don't have a damn clue. Could you point me to the part in the Bible where it says to persecute homosexuals? I'd love to see the different ways that one's worded. "The Message" version should be especially fun. As it stands, that part doesn't tell Christians they they are the ones to put sinners to death, just that sinners deserve death. A prize for being gay, lmao, that was good I have to agree with Wes though, this really needs to stay on topic, I am very pleased with how adult everyone has been regarding creationism and evolution, so lets keep this thread open and discuss this issue with the same maturity we have been, if anyone wants to discuss the merits of the bible, or have any other questions, you can PM me, I would be glad to give you my OPINIONS I'll end with this
  9. Please don't use old testament law, in Christianity, Christ came to fufill the law, and therfore Christians are no longer bound to obey old testament law, but to obey Christ teachings not to say we do not use things from the old testament to guide our faith, but we are not required to follow them, I can't remember the last time I sacrafice a young goat to pay pennace for my sins The fact that people make interpetations on a vague passage of scripture should not confuse anyone, the bible is not really specific about HOW God created the earth, just that he did, and although it says it took 7 days, the bible also hints that time means nothing to God. I could quote off a bunch of scriptures, but I won't. The fact remains that faith is a very personal thing, and while some members like Shepp seem to truely dislike christianity, I have met some really amazing people who really do good for thier communities in the framework of organized religion. Well this of course is off subject, but many "Christians" use the old testament to condemn homosexuals. Back to that old picking and chosing to fit an agenda. not really, read Romans 1:18-32 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans%201:18-32;&version=51; This is off topic, so I will not post the actual scriptures, if your so inclined go read it yourself, and this is no endorsment on the the way some Christian groups treat homosexuals, just replying to halation
  10. Ah L.A. traffic, how I hate thee seriously, that is certianly one of the major factors to why I left Cali, I cannot stand traffic, ABQ has little to no traffic, you get a bit in the morning, but unless some moron has crashed and died on the highway, its always moving., way WAY diffrent than Cali Here's a pic from 7PM while driving on a weekday to a minature golf course, from this photo TR from a few years ago http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18059&highlight=hinkle

  12. WOW, what a touchy subject First of all I was brought up in the Church, and at one point was a worship leader I believe there is truth in what is written in the bible, but it may not be fully understood, I think there is some truth is evolution, but that could have been part of God's plan all along, I really don't know, but am not really swayed in my belief that God certainly had a hand in it I would ask that this discussion be kept civil, Post like this on this board have suprised me in the past by being very civil, and intelligent, lets keep it that way, if a Person has a personal belief either way, it is theirs, and no one has the right to say they are wrong, or stupid
  13. I was kind of suprised this hasn't been mentioned, but saw it on my front page on yahoo http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070526/ap_on_re_us/ufo_theme_park The local news reported they would like to build one of the fasted indoor coasters in the world, not sure how fast that is, but that could mean if Western Playland builds its coaster, there would be three real coasters in new mexico, and could be seen as a better destination, and then maybe I could meet some of you guys, lol According to the local news, its pretty much a done deal, As soon as a developer is chosen, I'll update this post, exciting news
  14. The beta format was superior to the VHS format, but it was totally destroyed by VHS, and a total failure for Sony In an effort to avoid this happening again, Sony has brilliantly attached thier new video format to thier Playstation video game machine, to help push sales, but there are some problems #1 The new playstation machine is very expensive, but you can consider it a cheap Blu-Ray Player, Yippee #2 Toshiba has contracted with Walmart to produce an inexpensive Hd-dvd player, so this Christmas, we should see $200 HD-DVD players hitting the market #3 When rich old men put together thier home theaters, they are not looking to use a video game machine as a primary video player #4 Sony has the worst luck with proprietary formats Notice none of the problems listed are regarding the upgraded Blu-rays, because 90% of the players out there are PS3's, I'm sure it will be a simple update.
  15. The 360 is capable of 1080p, right out of the box, even the basic version with no hard drive, it just does not have a HDMI port, that is all The 720p standard is for performance reasons, the game will play alot faster at the lower resolution, there are already games out that use 1080p for the 360 As for the Hd-dvd, considering Walmart is planning a $200 HD-dvd player for the holiday season this year, I'm glad I'm not forced into a format that may not be viable in the coming years, I usually buy my gaming machine to play games, I have never used one as a primary movie player, and most adults who set up an HD entertainment system, will not use a game machine as the primary video player. If I feel the need to move past my DVD's I will do so when I have a good reason to, I'm not one to jump on a format, I was alive during the beta/vhs format war, we got a Beta, and ended up propping a door with it I believe, now I wait, lesson learned
  16. Well, I guess it would be the 5 year 100,000 mile warranty they currently offer, maybe Besides, GM, in fact no car maker including Toyota makes batteries of any sort, you would be getting a battery from a source supplier, probably the same on toyota uses. I am definatly wary of U.S. cars, that said, I will always root for them, and GM, Ford, and Chrysler all have to start making good cars, or they will go out of business I think GM(Chevy) is making a change for the better, thier new full size trucks have the best fuel economy of any full size truck ever, and 15% better than Toyota's new offering, and are, acording to Motor Trend, just as well made inside I really hope we are seeing the rebirth of the american auto, they need to take risks, like the small cars shown in this thread, they need to make the Volt, I would get one, I would get like 100MPG+ to a from work, using just a small amount of gas near the end of my commute, I really think we are seeing genuine change, and if we are not, they will end up going out of business, its that simple.
  17. I don't think thats fair This is the same company that will introduce the Volt in two years, and Electric hybrid that can run exclusivly on batteries, much better than Toyota's hybrid design, by alot Consumer Reports places them in the middle, ahead of most european makes, but still behind the Japanese makes Besides, this car is made in Korea, by Gm Daewoo, I am pretty happy with the direction GM is taking, they are trying to change for the better and compete, which is alot more than can be said for Ford, which has some kick ass european models, and milk toast cars available to america, WE WANT THE MONDEO!!!
  18. it was REALLY cold today, and it actually snowed, so I did not go to Cliff's, it was in the 70's yesterday oh well, I'll make it out for sure next weekend
  19. I will be going to Cliff's today, I try to take some pics, and do a short opening day TR, and let you guys know how the Rattler is running with its new track, can't wait
  20. These cars are diffrent than the Aveo I think Chevy, and all American car companies need to act quickly to bring cars like this to the U.S., Reports are gas prices may hit $4 a gallon this summer, expect more large truck sales declines, and small car gains, The Aveo is already the leader in the super small car segment with about 40% of the market, for once I would like to see an american company take the lead, they should make all three Also, I am very excited about Chevy's Volt concept, they say they are proceding towards production, we will see if it happens
  21. Not true, while it does break large visuals into sections, the speed at which it does it makes it just as capable as the PS3 at displaying 1080P visuals. But I do agree, there really is no reason to get the Elite unless you bought a HD-TV with no other connections except HDMI, or you download so much crap from Xbox live your out of room, besides you can always just BUY the hard drive I have the premium, and there is no reason to upgrade, I love my 360, it has been a total blast.
  22. HOLY CRAP!!! Not only are they retracking the Rattler, they are also adding three rides, or actually replacing, as the yo-yo is gone, and in its place is one of those swinging spinning disks, where you sit on the outside edge, AWESOME!!, the other rides apear to be kiddie rides The best thing about the new ride, "the Sidewinder" is, as most of you know the yo-yo was surrounded by water, and so is the sidewinder, you will be swinging out over the water, that should be fun! WWW.CLIFFS.NET they have a small pic of the ride, I can't wait untill April 7th, prepare for my annual photo TR of Cliff's
  23. Hey Soren, GREAT TR, I hope have a blast on your road trip, keep those pics coming
  24. I may be biased, but I really try to be open minded, and take a step back and look at the big picture And after looking over what the contenders have to offer, I don't think anyone here can deny that Gov. Bill Richardson from New Mexico is easily the best qaulified to handle our diplomatic problems right now As for the war being a huge issue, it obviously is, but I Implore you all to look at other issues besides the war, I still hear people say the economy is bad, it is not, besides the war the bush administration has actually done a decent job with regards to the rest of govermental business Just look at Gov Richardsons achievments in diplomacy, and I think you will see what I mean
  25. Congrats, I really happy for you, and very glad everyone is OK
