Ace Of Spades Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Rockin Roller Coaster-DHS Why did it have to be a Vekoma?
beatle11 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 ^Lol, mine was an Arrow. Dragon Fire at Canada's Wonderland.
HappyEisentrout Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Corkscrew at Michigan's Adventure. Back when it was all white and Wolverine Wildcat was the parks BIG ride.
SoCalCoasters Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Revolution at Six Flags Magic Mountain It was my first trip to Magic Mountain, and I wanted to hit it first.... It was closed for almost the whole day, but I managed to ride it in the evening, as my last ride...
ABW Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure.I still think it's a great ride. It's also the coaster that sparked my roller coaster enthusiasm.
tycoonrebel7188 Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Son of Beast the year it opened. Rode it with my dad who is terrified of heights and mildly scared on inversions.
Airtime&Gravity Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 For me, it depends on what you count as an inversion. In order of first ride: 1. Typhoon - Santa's Village (inclined loop) 2. Superman Ultimate Flight - Six Flags Great America 3. Batman: the Ride - Six Flags Great America I still count Typhoon as my first looping coaster, as outside of powered/water coasters, I go by RCDB, but I can see where people would say Batman is my first looping coaster.
Orangeman Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 The Whirlwind at Knoebels! Interesting note.....The thing broke down for 15 minutes on the lift hill! Which I think actually helped me through the experience
lankanboy101 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Top Gun at CND Wonderland. Traumatizing to be knocked around like that for your first time
rydrmr9 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Scorpion at Busch Gardens Tampa. Good Ol' Schwarzkopf.
boywholaughed Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Revolution at SFMM. It just felt right, considering it is the earliest ride today to feature a vertical loop. Before that I rode some cheap carnival rides in mexico that threw you upside down, but weren't roller coasters. I love how Corckscrew Foley keeps posting Corckscrew at Cedar Point as his first ride
thrillrider Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 My first inversion coaster was corkscrew at cedar point in the early 80's.
DougMJr Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 My first coaster with inversions was Boomerang: Coast to Coaster at Darien Lake. I rode it several more times until I had a headache, I was hooked.
FilmoreISnAZN Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 My first inverting roller coaster was California Screamin' Probably one of my favorite coasters to date because Disney + Intamin = <3 love!
chickenbowl Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 ^ My first was also Viper at Darien Lake.
eltoro96 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 mine was Rnrr back when it was MGM. i didn't really count it though since it was in the dark. other than that it was Great Bear at Hershey
alilstronger Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 It was the SooperDooperLooper at Hershey Park.
Pirouettes907 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 ^ Mine, too! Gosh, and it felt like such a huge deal to me at the time--especially once I finally worked up the nerve to put my hands up through the loop (that didn't happen for quite a few rides!). Still a quality ride, too.
