More from IAAPA--day 3!

I really could see this being a good fit at Silver Dollar City. I can only imagine how amazing of theming the park could do with, and on it!!

#WeCanOnlyHope

Why would you say that? Because the concept is shown with some interesting (though very unrealistic in terms of actually building it) theming? I'm huge on themed coasters, but I think they can do better with most any other coaster system.

I've never heard of RES before but their concepts look like bad rip-offs of other companies more out-there designs. Wasn't Hersheypark going to build something exactly like the "Rollerball" at one point? It was a pretty stupid concept then too, and now we have a much better design in the S&S version.

Pretty sure S&S also has something very similar to the suspended coaster concept. In this pitch it looks like they took those Gerstauler flat ride seats and just put them on a little powered coaster though. The flat ride version is probably a very similar experience for less space and money.

And I still don't get Mauer's powered coaster car thing either.

Maybe I'm just getting old. Just give me a classic wooden coaster and I'll be happy.

Awesome updates. I'm particularly intrigued by that Mack Spinning Pretzal Coaster and really hope one of those gets built soon, cause they look like a lot of fun. Though everything that was showcased at IAPPA this year looks like fun.

I think it would be so awesome to go here one day. I would be like a kid at a candy store! This place reminds me of a convention for theme park fans

From what has been said in the past, it's not really a place for enthusiasts or the GP but a place where parks and companies can come in and exchange information and see what innovations are coming out in the industry and get an idea on what they want to buy for their parks.

The more I see of Dynamic's rotating theater, the more intrigued I am. Does look like a cool concept.

It reminds me of Carousel of Progress - you just rotate within the sets rather than around them. Add some giant movie screens and effects in there and I don't see how you could go wrong*.

*Does not apply to Europe in the Air.

Just a heads up, our company is simply called FlowRider and we're owned by WhiteWater West. Wave Loch (Tome Lochtefeld) sold the FlowRider IP to WhiteWater West a few years ago. Wave Loch still exists, but they're essentially separate from us.

I'm glad you liked the model, it was fun putting it together!

I know IAAPA is mostly a business trade show, and tickets are very expensive, I do still want to go once in my lifetime. Besides, it is not like there is nothing else to do in Orlando. Maybe once I finish engineering school and no longer have to tailor my vacations to the school year.

Or, you know, maybe I will be one of the people behind the counter. I can dream, right?

I'm not surprised it won best new concept. The model is based on using the exact same Dynamic Attractions system installed at the "Hulk Epsilon Base" attraction at IMG Worlds of Adventure here in the UAE. First time I experienced it I was completely blown away by the crazy unique and VERY cool ride system we were on!

No believe me i jumped on my bed as a kid all the time! lol. I would jump on my bed for hours listening to music. However i was referring to thrill rides. Also i never been on a stand up coaster and i didnt know they were known for their air time. That is why i said that.
