urzishra
Living in Tucson (or Arizona for that matter) really sucks when it comes to distances from theme parks. With that said, here you all go.... 1. Castles 'N Coasters, Phoenix, AZ ~ 140 miles 2. Adventuredome, Las Vegas, NV ~ 423 miles 3. Sea World San Diego, San Diego, CA ~ 428 miles  So all you @$$holes that live 10 minutes from a park and bitch about it being crowded the day you decided to go...try driving 6 hours to that park. Let me know how you feel after that.  Jimmy "desperately needs a theme park close by" Bo   Well for one, crowds suck regardless of "when you decide to go" whether thats a 10 minute drive from your house or a flight away. You can always **TRY** for a slow day doesn't always mean it is going to BE a slow day whenever you go to a park (at least that is what I've noticed.) And besides, not everyone can go on slow days (for example I have a 8-4 M-F job, I have to go to parks on weekends, which means it'll be busier or I have to plan a vacation around it, then I'm out work days.)  The one good thing is that you can fly pretty cheaply out of Phoenix to just about anywhere in the west or Texas. Flights from SLC to LA are 110 each way makes going to Disney a little bit more bearable it's about a 6 to 8 hour drive to Vegas or Denver, which isn't TOO bad.  I understand it sucks not being next to Disneyland or a 100 Six Flags' but you can always change where you live. storms555
bump! The three closest to me is Great America,Santa Village Azooment Park, and Indiana Beach i guess. I would of said Mt Olympus but thats like 3 hours away where as Indiana Beach is like 2 hour away. If Kiddieland was still around it would of been the closest of them all! It would of been down the street from me actually but sadly id never got a chance to go there. When i moved in this area it was already closed down. Places like Navy Pier or Haunted Trails i dont really consider amusement parks even though they are pretty close too.
Nrthwnd
Playland (10 min.by car)Â Playland (20 min.by bus) Â Playland (40 min.walking) Â Otherwise, it's Silverwood in Idaho, Oaks Park in Portland OR, and everything else in California. (No idea of mileage) Â Actually, after all this time, I guess I could add Galaxyland in West Edmonton Mall as another of the "closest" parks I know. David and me on Mindbender at WEM. Oct.03,2001. MrSum1_55
1. SFDK (190 miles) 2. CGA (250 miles) 3. SFMM (483 miles) Â I live in Reno. I have had east coasters give me shocked looks telling them that these are the actual distances to my three closest parks. Â I also feel like it is work noting that I almost moved to Portland, OR. Besides the crappy weather, my deciding factor was the fact that the closest real park is Silverwood, 400 miles away!
