darthmario Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Demon at SFGAm when I was 4. It was the ride that got me hooked on roller coasters. Demon for me as well, though at California Great America - at the time it was still Marriot's Great America and had the theme song playing in the queue.
JonnyRCT3 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Magnum XL-200. Still delivers on that great airtime!
glucky11801 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 My first Arrow Dynamics coaster was Lightnin' Loops at Six Flags Great Adventure, in 1978. What a strange creation those Arrow shuttle loops were. And all those stairs to walk up each time, lol!
ahhculdee Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) Iron Dragon at Cedar Point, but should have been Tennessee Tornado at Dollywood. I was a big baby when I started getting into roller coasters, and I didn't ride it at time. But then I went to Cedar Point and everything changed. Edited August 20, 2013 by ahhculdee
Schrecken Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 My first Arrow was the now defunct Python shuttle loop at SFA. It would have been my first inverting coaster, period, but it was closed that day I went to the park and so I got dragged onto Mind Eraser instead.
Rai Fox Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Python at Busch Gardens Tampa - also my first inverting ride. My first "home" coaster was the Corkscrew at Rocky Point Park, but I never was brave enough to ride it until after I'd been on Python first.
Jerrykoala2112 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I rode River King Mine Train at Six Flags St. Louis back in 2001. I was 6 at the time and it's still my favorite mine train!
bkwjjm Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Corkscrew at Canobie Lake Park. I was 10 years old.
awclark Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Hmmm. I want to say Drachen Fire, Loch Ness Monster, or Big Bad Wolf back in 1997 when I was 8 years old? So long ago that I can't really remember what my family and I rode first so it's 1 of those 3.
molemaster43 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Not 100% positive. My first one that I can actually remember is Carolina Goldrusher at Carowinds.
Cyrbuzz Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Mine was Corkscrew at Michigan's Adventure. Back then the park was still called Deer Park Funland. You should have seen the trees that covered that park back then. Shame most of them were leveled by a bad storm a few years later.
Canobie Coaster Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 For me it was the Canobie Corkscrew. It was my second looping coaster (the Rock "N' Roller Coaster was my first) and I still enjoy it to this day.
gerstlaueringvar Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Dragon at Ocean Park HK. I found it not rough, I guess they have spent a lot of money maintaining the ride.
Angry_Gumball Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Mine would have to be actually also be Arrow's first Arrow coaster...being Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disney!
yay101 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 My first Arrow was Demon at Six Flags Great America in 2006 when I was 9.
redfoot12 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I'm surprised I haven't seen this one mentioned but mine was Space Mountain (Omega side I believe) at WDW in 1984. My first non-Disney Arrow was Anaconda. Maybe I didn't have much to compare it to back then but I think it actually was pretty fun when it first opened (1991). Not so much nowadays.
LiMiT Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 My first Arrow was Demon at SFGAm. This ride was about an hour or so before the ride got stuck upside-down on the second loop. But I was more terrified by the unexplainable ejector airtime on the first drop than the ride getting stuck.
rustyinpeace Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 My first was also Arrow Dynamic's first. Matterhorn.
OrientExpressForever Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Orient Express at Worlds of Fun was, not only my first Arrow coaster, but also my first major coaster. It absolutely terrified me at the time, but it was responsible for starting my love affair with coasters. RIP old friend!
TunaSled Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Michigan's Adventure Corkscrew (when the park was Deer Park Funland).
Coastergenius250 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Cedar Creek Mine Ride, before I knew it was Ntag of the 20th century!
