So, I know the song "Friday" by Rebecca Black is pretty awful, but god damn, she's a thirteen year old girl. Some of the stuff people say is just outrageous. It didn't really hit me until she was asked what the most hurtful thing said to her about the song was on an interview. When she replied with something to the effect of "I hope you cut yourself, die, and burn in hell." It kinda made me step back and think "What the fuck?"

I completely agree. I feel SO sorry for her! I mean, it's not her fault people told her she could sing and gave her a GOD AWFUL song to release.

It is a terrible song, although it's totally worth it for the entertainment value, and I certainly have nothing against her. But I've never understood why people think it's okay to viciously insult people online. I know in many cases it doesn't reach the "victims", but it still has an influence on society at large. Some of the things I read are disgusting.

Whether intentional or not, I thought Friday was a great send up of the banality of modern popular music.

 

I don't know why people are so horrible on the internet, maybe because they are too gutless to be like that to people's faces.

Why in my department we have the manager, a lady under her and then me. But yet I am one who is forced to make all the decisions on different policies and everything else? It makes no sense.

Most of the people who say that stuff are about 12. They find themselves cool to complain about stuff, I don't know. They're just saying the same stuff other people have said already anyways. The song isn't terrible, and certainly isn't annoying. When a song is annoying, that's when I draw the line.

Normally I'd be happy that two of my teachers are gone due to sickness and/or injury, but I just feel angry because the school replaced them with people more ignorant and incompetent than the original ones. Like, for example, we finish gym class (in the pool) early every time. Then we have to WAIT for fifteen minutes until this lady lets us get our freaking math books. What, does she think we'll do drugs or die or something if we don't leave at the bell? And then our history teacher (gone for half the year), who was first replaced by Mr. Mike, who was honestly the only history teacher that "tells it like it is" and doesn't dumb-down or lie about things, and then was replaced by a loud, rude and annoying woman who spoke no English and very little French and spoke with a thick Polish accent who stayed for three days until she decided she had more important business to attend to, who was in turn replaced by two teachers, both annoying and over-controlling. They seriously do think they know everything. They also think we're stupid fools (which *most* of us are not) who know next to nothing about history. They also think they know how we learn. We're IB students and they teach us like convicts. AND THEN THEY GET MAD AT US FOR NOT LIKING IT. I MEAN SERIOUSLY, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, OUR MOTHERS? LET ME IDLY DOODLE, LET THE OTHERS FLIRT, WHATEVER. WE ALL KNOW YOU COULDN'T GIVE A CRAP IF WE PASS OR FAIL AND ALL YOU WANT IS THE TINY SUM OF MONEY THEY HAND OVER TO YOUR DIRTY HANDS WITH MUCH HESITATION. GIMME A BREAK!

My stepfather is annoying as all hell. He's too freaking histrionic, EVERYTHING is a big deal. It's the end of the world if someone doesn't do something he wants, or if something he wants doesn't get done on time. He is also a horrendous control freak. I'm 17, ten months away from being a legal adult, and he expects me to adhere to a bed time of 10:30. (Fuck that, I don't.) I'm also not allowed to hang out at the mall with my friends if I should desire to. I'm also not allowed to have any sort of candy or soda because it has that one god forbidden thing in it: sugar. However, he buys over 48 cans of Diet Dr Pepper for himself a week. (This is no exaggeration, he goes through two 24 can cases of the stuff in a week.) I just can't stand it, I feel freaking suffocated in my own house. Well, I would, if it even felt like MY house. On top of this both of his kids are outrageous assholes. I nearly got into a fist fight with the older one because his attitude is so bad. He always finds a way to piss me off beyond belief with it, and whenever I walk away because I know the limits of my explosive temper extremely well he says I'm being a baby. He did it one too many times I just snapped and tried to knock him in the face. Although my mother was able to physically separate us before that happens.

 

 

Needless to say, I can't wait till I'm out of this shithole and on my own.

Guess why I was almost 20 minutes late getting home? My bus driver! Today when the bus was pulling out of the parking space a kid stood up about 4 inches of the seat and she SLAMS on the brake and starts screaming at him for standing up. She pulled back up in front of the school and had someone get on to take him off the bus. Whenever he tried to explain what he was doing the driver cut him off and said stuff like "You have known since the first day of school not to stand up when the bus was moving!" The bus driver said that that was the only rule she had was to not stand up and we are like "Oh my F**king God is she serious!" When the bus started moving again these two girls were talking to each other and the bus driver pulled the bus over again and I don't remember exactly what she said but it was really exaggerated and she was TRYING to get the girl in trouble. When the girl said "I was having a conversation with my friend I wasn't talking to you" the driver was opening and closing her hand like an immature five-year-old does when someone keeps talking. That girl told us that one time she got written up because the bus driver had to pick her up on the way out of the neighborhood. She read the refferal and told us that the bus driver made up an entire conversation where they argued and the girl called her a bitch and that girl got suspended from the bus for 3 days. And, the bus driver doesn't have time to pick people up on the way back, but she has time to pull over to let cars go by? And she has time to stop IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD and talk to dogs??!!!! One time she was turning out of a neighborhood, and she stopped in the middle of the turn, taking up BOTH lanes of the road. People were stopped waiting to go both directions. One time she pulled over for no reason whatsoever, she was just sitting there not moving. And she was blocking the exit of a neighborhood. We were told that the Dept. of Transportation has her replacement ready, but for some odd reason they WON'T fire her. And I will have to be stuck with this crazy-@$$ bus driver through my senior year because my parents won't let me get my driver's lisence until I am 18.

My friend, who is a VERY religious Christian, keeps getting picked on by this guy who is an Atheist and thinks he is smarter than everyone else, because my friend doesn't believe in evolution, and the fact that he prays before he eats a meal. I have no beef with most Atheists, just this particular one. I mean, so what if someone decides to follow the Bible? That doesn't mean you should be a jerk to them and have a "smarter than thou" attitude.

 

But my friend refuses to be mad at him, because he doesn't want to stoop to his level. I find that admirable.

Re the Militant Bus Driver: She apparently lost her job as a TSA screener. She's on some power trip, over high school kids. Impressive.

 

Re the Militant Atheist: It wouldn't surprise me if he's trying to goad your friend into a confrontation, then throw it in his face. Your friend should compliment him on his evolutionary advancement, highlighting his picking on others.
