Genx24 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Well, Total Mayhem has been confirmed as a name for a new Fright Fest haunt, so that's out. Spinsanity is terrible though. I know SF in general stinks at naming rides, but I think they've done a good job at GAdv. We're one of the only parks without a Goliath!
coneyislandchris Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 We're one of the only parks without a Goliath! OH GREAT NOW YOU'VE DONE IT. Goliath SFGAdv 2016 confirmed.
Genx24 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 OH GREAT NOW YOU'VE DONE IT. Goliath SFGAdv 2016 confirmed. The funny thing is that I've heard a rumour that this addition might indeed get that name. I honestly wouldn't mind. The name of a ride doesn't add or detract from the ride experience.
Garet Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Spinsanity is a ridiculously stupid name Superman: Krypton Coaster Superman: Ride Of Steel Superman: Ultimate Flight Green Lantern: First Flight Batman: The Ride Batman: The Dark Knight Wonder Woman: Lasso Of Truth Catwoman's Whip Lex Luthor: Drop Of Doom Superman: Escape From Krypton Are you picking up what I'm putting down? Six Flags SUCKS at naming things. "Intellectual Property: (Adjective/Verb) Noun" is the gameplan. Spinsanity is at least a step in the right direction. I still think China wins in the naming department, they almost look like they were taken from RCT.
DILinator Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I've heard the ride's name is Titan. I had figured that Titan was what GAdv's 2016 coaster world be named, since I assumed it was going to be a big addition. Now that's it's looking like a 4D Free Spin, I'm not sure that sounds like a "Titan" to me... But hey - this is Six Flags we're talking about here! We certainly don't expect their names to always make sense!
Genx24 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 ^ This 4D is rumoured to be around 220 feet tall, which would be the 3rd tallest in the park. Certainly befitting a name like Titan. But we just have to wait and see.
boldikus Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I have also heard mumblings about "Goliath" or "Titan" as the name for the new addition, and I could totally see them going with either. Personally, I'd rather either of those names than something superhero related. Spinsanity is lamer than lame.
thrillseeker4552 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Titan and Goliath are both great names for roller coasters, but I would almost rather see Titan due to the overuse of Goliath.
Jcoaster Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 They should take the RCT approach and keep it simple. "4-D Free Spin Coaster 2."
Superbatboy Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Spinsanity sounds flatride-ish and might be a turn off for guests who are unsure of whether to ride or not. I find the rumor of the Full Throttle name being tossed around interesting. I think Full Throttle would be a great fit for a ride like this.
boldikus Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Goliath or Titan are much better than some of the other suggestions on that survey they sent out. I'm pretty sure I remember XRave and Raveolution LOL. At that point they might as well really go for the teen market and call it "Dubstep Coaster"
DevilsFlight Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Name it Sir Puke and have Stevie Wonder promote it.
Jcoaster Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I'm making the trek down there tomorrow since it is my last full week off before I go back to work. Hopefully there will be some progress to photograph.

FaithPlus1 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 If S&S can build a 220ft version of Batman from SFFT, I don't see how anyone could be disappointed. In fact I think it would look great adjacent to the lake. I may be in the minority, but I would rather it be a free spin than have those spinning mechanisms throughout the ride. I'm pretty darn pumped for this announcement.
boldikus Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Theme Park Maniacs posted some photos of the Fort Independence demo that was going on today. It's all coming down...
markysharky17 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Does anyone see a free X going into Great Adventure? Like the one that spins sideways? S&S never sold one and it would be a worlds first.
WindexCyanide13 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Does anyone see a free X going into Great Adventure? Like the one that spins sideways? S&S never sold one and it would be a worlds first. That is a variation of the free fly. Tarran is one of them, just not the inverting kind.
boldikus Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Are you guys talking about this? Maybe SFGAdv can get a two-ride deal with S&S and put one of these in BBNP
B&MIntaminGCI Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 ^The door and the two windows above it kinda make a shocked face. "HOW DARE YOU BETRAY ME LIKE THIS SFGADV! AFTER ALL THE DOLPHIN SHOWS I PROVIDED FOR YOU!!"
