Six Flags Great Adventure (SFGAdv) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I'm buying that video as legit. It's close enough that someone could've leaked it, and the quality matches.

Im psyched even if others may not be.

EDIT: ^^ You mean the same mistake that most enthusiasts have, based on the evidence from past discussions on this very website? Besides, this is the same company that marketed super loops as roller coasters, so I wouldn't put it too far past them to list this as a free fly. Honestly though, does it matter?

I just can't believe it's an exact clone of the SFFT version, maybe there's a 2nd coaster for 2016...this seems extremely frugal

Superman - Ultimate Flight

Batman the Ride

This is Six Flags

Six Flags Great Adventure get's a mini 4D coaster, Total Mayhem, filled with plentiful inversions, and unique elements brought to the park's coaster lineup. Somehow it's not up to standards with coasterboy234609's pip-dream, the 700' RMC prototype, and the coaster "isn't Intimidator 305 enough for me!" Let the bitching commence in 3..2..1...

Yeah but I thought they'd spend at least A LITTLE more on the biggest SF park, and the biggest money maker in the chain

I believe this is real and for a few reasons. The rumored two toned color scheme, red and orange, are what are depicted in the video. Second, this looks like a Six Flags announcement video. It looks like they payed that guy who does every major coaster animation to do this one as well. Even the rumored Full Throttle tent can be seen. Now for those saying that "Six Flags wouldnt mess up the name of the model of a coaster on their animation" look at the Batman animation. They also call it a free fly coaster in that video as well. Also, this looks WAY too professional to be fake. The ride looks so real, and even the actual rides in the park can be seen in the distance. Now the only concerns that this may be fake would be that it seems to not be in the spot that was apparently proposed by Six Flags at the town meeting. Six Flags also seemed to have used the exact same camera angles used in the Batman animation. Watch them side by side. Could someone have fake it by cutting things from the Batman video, then edit it to fit the rumors? I mean, i guess it could be possible, but it would take so much time and skill, that in my opinion, it confirms this as real for me. We will see tomorrow, but i believe that this is legit.

I am happy and not happy at the same time. I did not have any problems with a 4D coming to the park, but i have many problems with it. First of all, THE LINES! This looks like a low capacity coaster! It did fine, and even got very long lines at Fiesta Texas, but now your going to add the same one to the worlds largest theme park!!! Its going to be insane! I mean, as long as it takes lines away from Toro, ill be happy. Also, they couldve placed this ANYWHERE else in the park, but they wasted this amazing area on a small coaster. It was prime real estate for a larger attraction, but now we have this small one here that in my opinon wont look all that great in front of the lake as compared to other coasters.

This could be fake though, because i dont know if SF would risk putting such a low capacity coaster here at this park. I would certainly expect them to go with the taller version. Also, who even is this kid that posted this video? It was posted by some unknown non-coaster channel. why does this random person have it. Who knows. Someone could have just pulled one of the biggest trolls in the history of theme park announcements. We will find out tomorrow.

Maybe I'll be surprised come morning but I'm going with legit on that clip. If its a fake its really good. Bummer its not the bigger version.

edit: Oh and there's this.

The video looks real to me but that photo doesn't... I don't see why Six Flags would put a sign saying "Total Mayhem 4D Free Fly Coaster" on the ride itself, but I guess it's possible.

It's legit... The awful name... The awful Full Throttle-esque themeing... The tent with the stupid TV....gahhh. I'm sorry, you guys, I wish this went to a smaller park like SFA or SFOG. SFGAdv deserves better for sure.. I wish I could tell you that the one at SFFT was fun, but I would be lying to myself. Happy end to the coaster drought! (At least the colors are interesting!)

Well, at least it's something unique to this side of the U.S. I agree that the name isn't good or the Full Throttle theming is unappealing, but the ride looks fun. To say that this ride sucks is a little premature.

Cue the "disappointment" posts in 3..2..1...
