Skycoastin Steve
The one positive out of this is it's creating jobs. Otherwise, it just seems to be a bottomless money pit. Hopefully it works out for them.

jedimaster1227
^Give it a couple of days to sink in... We don't want the people who don't know what Bluegrass Boardwalk is to think the Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom thread disappeared. The thread's title will be changed soon enough. Hilltopper39
^Can we just call the park Kentucky Bluegrass Kingdom Boardwalk ?
mattnz
I am fascinated to see how the Koch's will transform the park and have very high hopes. Great news for the locals and I'd love to pay a visit after re-opening!

Don't change the thread title any time soon. They still need to get financing to make this fly.
sfgam33
This is great news! Now they need to find a Chang replacement..Time machine at Freestyle? I oddly said this exact same thing to myself... I just want that B&M to be saved!! :/ This is such great news that the park will not only reopen, but reopen with such management...the park is going to do well now & hopefully lose its terrible rep it had prior. coasterdude2011
I personally am so excited to see this park get some life in it again! The park is known to be successful before the Six Flags days, its obvious its just needs some good management. Holiday World will make this a quality park, I'm already planning for a 2013 visit! GriffyTiffy
This is fantastic news. The area finally get's their park reopened, that park gets some GREAT management, and the Koch family get a nice park to expand with. I hope to go when it opens! Midgetman82
That's two good news I've heard all week. My favorite amusement park operating my home park, and the bridge that led fastest to Santa Claus, Indiana, from Louisville was reopened early. Can. Not. Wait! Oh, and this: Free soft drinks at @BluegrassBwalk ... free sunscreen ... free use of inner tubes. #BB2013 3x the win!
XYZ
I wonder if they'll re-open T2, I wouldn't see the Koch family keep T2 because it wouldn't necessarily add to the guest experience. Though, they can put new trains on T2.
Ed Farmer
This is great news! Now they need to find a Chang replacement..Time machine at Freestyle? I oddly said this exact same thing to myself... I just want that B&M to be saved!! :/ . It would be a great replacement for Chang. I doubt many locals would even notice a difference, and it should come at an attractive price for a barely used B&M coaster. While Chang was/is in an entirely different ballpark quality-wise, I don't think it matters in this instance. Excellent news about the park. I'll be sure to visit in 2013. KI and HW are about due for something new as well.
Midgetman82
^Seeing that KI is removing The Crypt, I couldn't agree more. ^^That depends. Do the new Vekoma SLC trains absorb the shock and jerking, or is it just comfortable new seats?
cal1br3tto
^While the restraints are comfortable and eliminate headbanging, I think a lot of people felt The Great Nor'Easter at Morey's was still very rough and jerky. I'm all for adding them to more Vekomas, though!
chickenbowl
SLCs are just a bad design. I'm very curious to see what the Koch's can bring to this place. They are on good terms with TGG, so I see them fixing up Twisted Twins, and getting those operational again. I don't know what to expect in terms of new rides or fixing up old ones. What coasters are still on property? I know they lost Chang and the Wild Mouse. Do they still have Greezed Lightnin'?
11slataus
^ Yes they still have Greezed Lightnin'. Thunder Run, Twisted Twins, T2 and the Roller Skater are all still there.
HappyEisentrout
I just want a refurbed Twins. I enjoyed that ride and as mentioned earlier, could be great with Timberliners
Midgetman82
Thunder Run needs a rehab. I still remember my last ride back in 2009 very clearly. Jerked me stupid. Luckily the seats are very soft, but it is still uncomfortably rough.
jedimaster1227
I think it is safe to assume that if Thunder Run and Twisted Twins are to reopen, they will both be receiving touch ups, if not major overhauls... And considering Holiday's World's strong relationship with Gravity Group, I'd imagine they will be two refurbishment projects for the company. ginzo
Best of luck to the Koch family. I'll certainly be down there next year to see what they've done with the place.
Swimace
I'm not sure if any of you guys follow them on Twitter, but these two tweets got me pretty excited: Bluegrass Boardwalk @BluegrassBwalk"We will have new attractions in 2013." #BB2013 pic.twitter.com/EeCw2fC9 Bluegrass Boardwalk @BluegrassBwalkFree soft drinks at @BluegrassBwalk ... free sunscreen ... free use of inner tubes. #BB2013
ernierocker
Aren't there major issues with Greezed Lightin'? Like the launch system is pretty much not salvageable?
CoasterGuy06
Assuming the Timberliners finally make it on to The Voyage, you instantly have two trains that can be placed on Twisted Twins to get it operating again.
Meteornotes
Aren't there major issues with Greezed Lightin'? Like the launch system is pretty much not salvageable? I thought this as well. While I'd love to see this ride operate again, I have my doubts. dt
