Hhappy Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 i'm not going to say something about a watermark.. i'm not going to say something about a watermark... darn .. I just did it..
Swimace Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 ^Ha, you beat me to it. Was driving me crazy as well! With that said, I am curious to see what this turns out to be. Considering that construction is starting this early, I am assuming it will be quite large. Can't wait to see all of the Ohio fanboys go crazy for the next year or so!
SFOGdude25 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 If this does end up being a B&M giga, I'd like to see them go outside of their comfort zone a bit. Add flat speed sections and twister sections along with large hills to keep the pacing dynamic and interesting. Basically a 300 foot Raging Bull.

While extremely hopeful, this looks too small to be the station or transfer track section. This may not be a roller-coaster at all, but some kind of stage...
Dinnwitted Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I think it's going to be something like Divertigo. Out of the past three new coasters added, two had water splashdowns, and wasn't KIs most popular log flume removed in 2002.
boesball Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 The four hints I've found is: 1. They replied to a question on twitter: 308 2. They posted a picture on Facebook of Diamondback and said that the more of it the better. 3. They posted something about diving into action. 4. Cedar Fair bought back the Copyright/Trademark on the name Banshee. It probably will be a B&M Hyper or Dive coaster that is 308 feet tall and called Banshee.
Dinnwitted Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 The Beast got stuck today according to WCPO. Riders Get Stuck on Beast MASON, Ohio - Some roller coaster fans at Kings Island got a big scare while riding The Beast on Tuesday. The coaster became stuck at about 11 a.m. on the second lift hill, park officials said. Spokesman Don Helbig said the riders were stuck for about 10 minutes before being escorted off the ride. Thirty people were on the ride at the time. Apparently a malfunction with a computer-operated safety system caused the train of passengers to become stopped. Helbig said the system is designed to pace all of the cars to make sure that the coaster cars don't get too close to each other and crash. He said this used to have to be done manually by an operator but is now computer-assisted. When the system shut down, it caused the train cars to stop. While they were waiting, one rider had an anxiety attack and called 911 for help from the ride. Helbig said no one was injured and the ride was reopened at about 12:30 p.
christianscoasters Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Must have been a very, very slow news day.
B&MBoy1982 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Prayers to those who became stuck on the Beast this morning. Such a tragedy. I hope everyone can recover and put their lives back together. I mean a twister completely leveled a school with kids in it 2 days ago, and the news is reporting a coaster SAFETY SHUT DOWN???? Of course, this is Cincinnati. Typical Ohio news casts. They cover stupid stuff like, "Dog can fart Tic Tok by Ke$ha. Tonight at 6!!!"
coasterfreak101 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I wonder how long it takes to be escorted as a group from the second lift hill all the way back to the 'real' park...
B&MBoy1982 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 5 to 10 minutes once everyone is on the ground. It's not that far.
Ccron10 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Must have been a very, very slow news day. That had to be an extremely slow news day. I am willing to bet if the woman didn't call 911 that we wouldn't hear about it even if we were at the park that day.
B&MBoy1982 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Must have been a very, very slow news day. That had to be an extremely slow news day. I am willing to bet if the woman didn't call 911 that we wouldn't hear about it even if we were at the park that day. It was this morning! I am going to the park at 730 tonight, and hosting a candle lit vigil in memory of the 30 people who were evacuated off the ride. Anyone care to join me?
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 LOL, people that call 911 when they get stuck on rides are so silly. Do they think the park is not able to get them out and take care of the issue. They aren't just going to leave you there and hope the ride magically comes back to life.
Geauga Dog Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Does not surprise me. Since the lifts have speakers wouldn't the ride ops back in the station make an announcement? If I was on the ride I'd be sitting there enjoying the view.
B&MBoy1982 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I would hate for that person to have been on Windseeker in Cali when it broke down!
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I would hate for that person to have been on Windseeker in Cali when it broke down! Several people on the ride called 911 when it broke down. That's why there was such the media frenzy when it happened.
Swimace Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Or who can forget the woman who called 911 from Harry Potter claiming she was stuck upside down... I'm not sure what frustrates me more: that people are this stupid, or that the media gives them a spotlight for it.
Vonni Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I cant believe it! Called 911 from the ride! Stupid B!#$h! Some people need to just stay out of the theme parks. Idiots!
Dinnwitted Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Or who can forget the woman who called 911 from Harry Potter claiming she was stuck upside down... I'm not sure what frustrates me more: that people are this stupid, or that the media gives them a spotlight for it. It would have turned her world upside down. Back to the subject, how come when the ride shut down, the lift didn't restart as planned?
dumakey1212 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Photos from today of the construction area. The area in red is obviously the construction, but I'm not sure if all of it will be used for the new coaster or if some of it is just Son of Beast deconstruction site. http://imageshack.us/a/img844/1975/cam00099x.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img843/5738/cam00098.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img838/1632/cam00105h.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img829/3102/cam00104c.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img824/7982/cam00096r.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img822/5997/cam00100n.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img189/4780/cam00102z.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img194/1411/cam00103a.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img248/4268/cam00106g.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img541/4386/cam00102a.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img593/1659/cam00101e.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img802/9332/cam00097y.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img46/8747/cam00095z.jpg
BigDipper 80 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I'm still amazed at home much land SoB actually took up. That empty space is absolutely massive.
