Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
Dinnwitted replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think Kings Island is getting a B&M invert, since besides Valleyfair, Kings Island is the only Cedar Fair park without a complete circuit inverted coaster with inversions. -
What is your "favorite" park Mr. Alvey? I don't mean "favorite" as in the park you like the most, but in which park is the most important to you?

Or lose it on the first drop, as one of my friends did. -
Alton Towers Discussion Thread
Dinnwitted replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think Alton Towers has a winner here! In my opinion it perfectly fits the area left by the former Black Hole coaster. -
Yes, both the family slides are RTM. What does RTM mean? Is it a manufacturer, or is it a production method? RTM is a fiberglass production method that uses injection into a two sided mold rather than spraying the fiberglass onto the mold. RTM allows for both the inside of the slide and the outside to be smooth and have the shiny finish. The older method is shiny and smooth on the inside but the outer side of the slide has a dull-surface that you can see the fiberglass fibers…does that make sense? Yes it does. Thank you very much.

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

It's too early to jump to conclusions. KD didn't get I305 track until late July of 2009. Too soon to call it. -
Top Roller Coaster Myths & Rumors!

Cincy based myth here: Shooting Star was rebuilt as the Racer at Kings Island. -
As someone who does security every day I have to ask, do you have any idea as to how much work it is to try and detect things like this? You can't just wave a magic wand and catch every scumbag that wants to do harm/create chaos. You can only do your best to gather information and execute your standards as effectively as possible. I'm confident Disney did their best, and these incidents (with zero injuries) should have zero bearings on how people view the parks. They caught the idiot responsible, and that's the important thing. Good point. I never thought of it like that. I thought of security as an amusement park's firewall system.
