  1. This accident made this coaster 'The legend coaster of Belgium'. Since this accident happened, the popularity increased enormously (strangely enough). Everybody wanted to ride 'Sirocco' for it's 'dangerous' feeling. If you ask a random Belgian if they know the name Sirocco, they all say yes (especially the old generation). But not only in Belgium, also in Germany, France, The Netherlands, ... By the way, Psyké Underground will have his own anthem (dance-track). It will be played in the coaster, but also by the local radio-stations (and maybe even in other countries). You can hear a short part of it at the end of each video above. Understandable. I thought it was bizarre for a park to advertise that way. I get what you are saying.
  2. Agreed. A disabled person capitalizing on their disability in this way is not exactly on the moral high road. I could see a disabled person having the mindset of "I have been cursed with this unfortunate condition, I may as well make some profit off it". While I can sympathize, renting yourself out to help wealthy people avoid waiting in line is morally ambiguous at best. Take my sister as an example. She had her entire left arm amputated as part of cancer treatment back in 2004. She went to Six Flags Magic Mountain with some friends, and was told by guest relations that she could take advantage of a disabled pass (along with her friends). She chose not to do it, as she thought that would be taking advantage of her disability. Now, she can obviously stand in long lines, as her body is perfectly intact in every other way. However, the juxtaposition of my sister and someone using their disability to make money makes it difficult to approve in any way of this profiteering. Why are rich 1% saving money anyways? It seems silly for multi millionaires to be saving $1000 a day, while on a 4 day trip.
  3. LIM? Seems awesome! Can't wait to see what the ride pov will be like. Watched the videos. Why would a park promote an accident where riders were stranded?
  4. I think that was agreed upon on day one. By the way, what is the top speed of the ride?
  5. I saw this at Coney Island(Ohio) as well! How sad is it to see one fake a disability to ride a tilt-a-whirl! Funny thing is they were busted by the ride operator.
  6. It seems plausible. I've been to museums and zoos where people have been able to cut because they have a wheelchair. Tours for $380 an hour? Cedar Point is only 19 dollars more a day.
  7. Roller coaster in ocean since Sandy to be removed http://usat.ly/167aZ00
  8. Wonder if this will beat Gatekeeper for best new coaster, this year. I really am amazed by Smilers crazy layout.
  9. Great list there Robb! What are 16-25 on the list?
  10. But does it lose a ton of speed due to the cold air? Or is it the wind? I know that when Ike struck KI, the Racers could not make it up the airtime hill before the turnaround.
  11. Has anyone else seen the news videos? It seems the ride keeps up its pace quickly and there is a lack of real head banging. On the other note: why are the trains designed like that with the smile on front?
  12. Great report there. One question about the theming; has it improved or just been updated?
  13. Uh-oh, could that valleying of Iron Dragon towards the end of last season mean the "death growl" for Iron Dragon after this season? Look at the bright side. If they remove Iron Dragon, maybe it could be relocated to Darien Lake! No, Darien Lake would only give it the Batman The Escape treatment.
  14. Ok. Thanks for answering my question. Out of curiosity, will the ride be more intense, now that the heartline has changed?
  15. Colossus has always had the title before Smiler was built. It seems you set yourself up for everyone else's smiles and jokes. JK.
  16. Or in this case ship-shape. But back to the topic, this incident is clearly adding to Carnival's woes since the press is reporting there are security cameras all over the ship. I'm wondering if the two overboard passengers fell from a cabin, or from a public area on the ship?
  17. Uh-oh, could that valleying of Iron Dragon towards the end of last season mean the "death growl" for Iron Dragon after this season? Was it after or before the pre-lift brakes? I have to assume after it, because the prelude to that section is downhill.
  18. That will force a person to a date site. I always say, it's better to tackle the fear one step at a time.
  19. On CNN, apparently people for the next cruise were held in the Terminal for hours without any explanation as to the cause. It's very interesting to see footage of the backup.
  20. Since Steel Dragon is larger than about 98% of coasters, could its size make a viewer perceive it as slow? Anyways, it looks like B&M made a great car and it would be awesome for Cedar Fair's Morgan Coasters.
  21. The inversion looks as if the ride had been "auto supported" in Nolimits. Besides that sidetrack, the adjustments look spectacular. I'm wondering if it'll be open by Memorial Day.
  22. True, but don't they have ID cards for access? I'm just wondering if it could sound an alarm after a card is for predetermined time left unactivated.
