Blazen_AZN
^^ This is a B&M flying coaster. At what point would you be on your back? Eric uhh at the top of any loop take on your stomach... imagine this rollercoaster was a flying coaster at the top, you would be on your back, (well techincally the g-forces would still be on your chest, but you are still facing the sky with your back to the ground) heck you can be on your back any given time, take air as an example pics from RollerCoaster DataBase
SharkTums
Yeah on Air it seems like you're on your back more than you're actually flying.
ebl
Having never been on any flying coaster, I shouldn't have asked such a dumb question, huh? I forgot about inversions---particularly the pretzel loop. Oh well, by next spring I'll have been on one! Eric
arrowfanman
What about visiblity on these things? In that picture, the girl on the left in the second row is forced to look up that front row guys butt. Are flyers like inverts, in the sense that you either ride for visibility in the front, or you dont get very good visiblity? Or does it not really matter? lapseofreason
YES!!!! BENDY TRACK!!!! And a chunk missing out of Revolution.... intersecting coasters?
SharkTums
You mainly are looking down because it's pretty hard to crane your neck up to look straight. If you're not in the front row the ride is not about visuals as you're mainly seeing what the person in front of you stepped on throughout the day. Granted I like the Supermen in the back better because of the forces.
XAquaTeenBoyX
I'm most likely going to be at the park on Sunday, so I'll update with whatever I can update.....yet I don't have any digital cam...
XANAX: The Ride
And a chunk missing out of Revolution.... intersecting coasters? As bendy as I have been about the bendy track, I found myself pondering about this missing piece of Revy. Details some one, anyone!!! A pic would be great, and I want to know where the new gap is located on the lay out. AFM: you are cool but you suck for not giving the details about Revy! ZipityDoDog
Jess and I were there yesterday. You can only see the missing piece of Revy from the loading platform of X. It looks like the piece removed for the equipment to gain access to the waterfall area. There were 10 cement trucks constantly moving, great driving from the truck drivers considering the trucks were backing up the mountain, and two cement pumping trucks. The pathway around the backside near roaring rapids was closed from park opening until shortly after 5pm. Chris

arrowfanman
Yea...I actually was able to get a shot of the track missing, from the ground. You just have to stand back. Well, my photo update, although a day late, should be up later today. EDIT Here is my update from yesterday! A LOT of stuff is going around the mountain. It really seems like a construction site now! Blazen_AZN
hey, nice update, i got impatient and found it before you posted it anyway, its great to see the footers begin to go in. j just a question, while i bet this coaster will take considerably longer than their other coasters. how long does a coaster usually take to be completed, from first vertical construction to the completion of the circuit? Jeezus Juice
Awesome, thanks for braving friday crowds, weird security guards, and massive construction vehicles to bring us an update! Man, this thing is going to go everywhere. I have absolutely no clue as to the layout judging by all the footer locations. 19 days huh? I think I'll make it. -Don
Mr.Six
I stopped by the park today for about 2 hours and although Managment was at its worst today; I was able to talk to a construction worker! He was able to tell me that the coaster was going to open on or very close to Easter 06! As someone else said eariler its clear that even the average guest is complaining of all the closed rides. The Rides that I saw were closed were... Deja vu,Revolution,Roaring rapids, flashback,Sky Tower, freefall,Metro, Ninja, Atom Smasher, and Thrill Shot! _six
SharkTums
We'll have some new construction photos up very soon!
robbalvey
Here is today's update: http://www.themeparkreview.com/sfmmnew06/current.htm Some interesting things going on. Lots of work being done even on a Saturday. Quite a lot of the construction area is closed including Roaring Rapids and Ninja. It wouldn't suprise me in the least if access to the mountain is closed after this last weekend of Fright Fest. The park was PACKED beyond belief today! One of the busiest days I've seen in a LONG time. When we left at 1pm, they were preparing the overflow lot. Anyway, lots of good pics in this round. Enjoy! ebl
^ Nice update. I wouldn't have been caught dead near SFMM today. But Diana and I might go tomorrow. "Hampster Feed?" Those Wal-Mart folks are really earning their $6.75/hr., aren't they? Eric

lapseofreason
both updates are great. Yes... footers! And the crowd... that's why I NEVER go on Fridays. It's weekdays in the spring for me (aside from fright fest this year). No crowds, run-right-back-through-the-station rerides.... except for next year, when it's going to be funny to see people trying to run up samurai summit. man, they better build this coaster quick... i can't wait

MARK
Hey, It looks like this thing is going to be pretty large-scale from how many areas are being excavated.....is it? I've never been to SFMM so I don't know where all the areas are.
