njcoasterguy34
Try your best to give Wildcat a fair and unbiased opinion. It honestly isn't as bad in my eyes as people say it is. I also second this motion. Wildcat is nowhere near as painful as a lot of people say.
coasterkid124
For me, it's a combination of the roughness, and the awful layout that makes me dislike it. It's just not fun. I've been on more intense children's rides. It's a good step up for someone not ready for Skyrush or Storm Runner yet, but Comet kind of serves the same purpose. I personally don't mind aggressive or rough rides, but the layout has to be good. Same reason why I hate Mean Streak, but like Darien Lake's Predator. Jcoaster
I actually like Wildcat's layout a lot. All the more reason RMC should eventually get their hands on it.
I Like Theme Parks.
I think Wildcat sucks, just not as much as some people hate it. It's a bit too rough for me, but that wouldn't be as much as an issue if it had a more enjoyable layout. The layout is alright I guess, but it's not that special. The turns could use some more laterals and forcefulness, the pacing is a bit slow, and there's a few moments of floater air, but nothing that makes up for the roughness in my opinion. mike541x
I actually enjoyed Wildcat myself. Not the best woodie out there but it's far from being the worst.
ThemeParkJunkie51290
Apparently, Hersheypark just released Clue #5 . . . which turns out not to be a clue . . . Matter-of-fact it clearly states: "THE DATE IS SET, NO MORE CLUES. THIS IS WHEN YOU'LL GET THE NEWS." Another week of waiting without a clue to ponder on. How nice. Canobie Coaster
I actually enjoyed Wildcat myself. Not the best woodie out there but it's far from being the worst. Wildcat with the PTC trains was one of my favorites. The ride was aggressive, but it had lots of killer airtime. With the GCI trains, the ride is more rerideable (it's bumpy, not rough), but it doesn't feel as fast.

Wildcat honestly is like Lightning Racer (in terms of layout and air time) if you remove the racing and add bumpiness.

Jcoaster
^ Comet in the back row provides some very nice airtime. More so than LR and Wildcat.

Comet is an excellent family coaster, and much better than Wildcrap. Even if Lightning Racer became rough, it would still be great because it has tons of quickly-paced floater airtime moments, more forceful and lateral-filled turns and the dueling adds so much to the experience. And the pacing and layout are nice.
Genx24
Wildcat stinks but I actually found Comet to be pretty boring. Lightning Racer however, are two of the best woodies I've ridden. Granted I haven't been on too many.

Granted I haven't been on too many. Comet isn't that exciting, but it's small and isn't really supposed to be. But with the nice scenery and even a couple small pops of air, it makes for a perfect old-school family woodie. It's also my first larger coaster, so I love it because of that, too. coasterbill
I have a thing for Comet. I don't know what it is. There's very little airtime (with a few exceptions) but it's a fun little coaster.
SteelForceless
Similarities between Lightning Racer and Wildcat - Wooden coasters - Both made by GCI - Both seldom have lines Differences between Lightning Racer and Wildcat Lightning Racer: - Racing - Smooth - Enjoyable - Worth reriding Wildcat: - Not racing - Not smooth - Not enjoyable - Not worth reriding

thecoasterdude
I was at the park yesterday, and I found Wildcat better than I remembered actually. I also felt a decent amount of airtime as well. Found it much better than Comet on this trip.
coasterfreak101
Am I imagining things, or did the trims on Comet's second turnaround (above the station) get cranked up about 10 years ago? I remember being blown away by Comet's last run out and back when I was maybe 14-15, but ever since there's been very little airtime in the second half. tiagohummel
Yesterday I was at the park for the first time and had a great time! Great Bear, Lightning Racer and Comet were very good surprises. Storm Runner and Fahrenheit were fun but I wish they were longer. Wildcat is a piece of crap. And... I think I didnt love Skyrush? Its a great ride of course but I was being hurt by the restraints that were holding my legs in a odd place, Idk.

I *think* they added a longer section of those frictions brakes.
Sythe
Am I the only one who doesn't think wildcat is bad? The padding on the seats makes up for the roughness IMO, since it doesn't actually hurt...

Like all wooden roller coaster you kinda have to learn how to ride them; especially when they have a twister layout. I am also partially bias b/c Wildcat was my first big kid coaster that I rode the year it opened and Hershey is my favorite park. With that being said I am not against RMC working its magic.
