  1. Hey folks, heading to SDC for the first time next Friday! Aside from bringing in a Coke bottle, anyone know of good discounts for tickets? Sadly can't go the day before and get the Price Cutter Thursday. Also, is there any difference between online and at-gate ticket prices?
  2. I'll be headed to SDC for the first time this fall, going to Thanksgiving in Springfield. Our options are the Friday, Saturday, or Sunday after Turkey Day. I assume all of these will be terribly crowded, but which of the three would be the least terrible? Also, would the basic Trailblazer 8-ride pass be worth it? Thanks!
  3. I've got a bit of an odd souvenir-related question. I went to Dollywood recently and bought one of the name mugs for a friend, but it broke on the way back, and I'm nowhere near Pigeon Forge normally. Is there anyone here who is 1) Going to Dollywood soon anyway 2) Willing to pick up a name mug and ship it if I reimburse you for your troubles?
  4. Part of me thought that was the case, but it's so stupid and pedantic I didn't want it to be true
  5. The Great Adventure website says that Nitro and Skull Mountain are temporarily closed, which is a concerning surprise especially because I'll be going there tonight Anybody got any word on why that might be?
  6. Food for Thought: If there was a CGI movie about the anthropomorphized coasters of Cedar Point (a la Cars or Toy Story), who would voice each coaster? As examples, I could see Ed Asner as Blue Streak, Christopher Lloyd as Corkscrew, Dwayne Johnson as TTD, and Sigourney Weaver as Millennium Force. Maybe John Goodman with a cameo as Mean Streak
  7. Fixed that for you. But back in early December 2015, while the world record breaker, Valravn, was being constructed, many people were complaining shocker about people posting photos of the littlest things happen, I.e. track piece coming onto site, a bolt being tighten, the usually. So someone posted a photo from the webcam and said a long the lines of "as you can see, a boat is leaving the marina" and then that started the whole boat thing. It went on all off-season. ["gif of Robin Williams saying 'good times'] Let me stop you right there. It was horrible.
  8. I... need more coffee. Words are hard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAI6awt5fpM
  9. I have been played for a fool then. If they were to announce something any time in the recent future, when would that likely be?
  10. Is the announcement for whatever-they're-going-to-do-to-Mean-Streak's-spot coming sometime during the day, or will be at closing, like "oh buh-bye Mean Streak, oh and also here's what's next"?
  11. So has anyone else heard the "news"/teasing that Melt Bar & Grilled is putting a location in or near Cedar Point? I for one am UTTERLY STOKED. Cheese 4 dayz
  12. I wonder if this is the start of a beautiful new era of SF Corporate kinda sorta paying attention to Six Flags America?
  13. This is a solid addition to any park! Also that's the same Roman dude on the logo as Goliath at SFGAm
  14. Perhaps this has been stated already somewhere, but when will Six Flags be announcing 2017 things for all their parks?
  15. I didn't follow the livestream so this may be already answered, but it doesn't look like this is replacing the Kissing Tower right? Looks to be near the barrel roll of Storm Runner
  16. From what I've gathered the coaster part is amazing. The issue, as we've revisited time and again, is that an untested company is using experimental tech for a very high-scrutiny ride. I've found myself idly wondering what the smallest hypothetical change would lead to the ride being open. Like, if an engineer didn't have a wild night on a Thursday night back last September, he wouldn't have come in to work hungover on Friday, and would have noticed and fixed a problem that ended up snowballing into whatever the issue is now.
  17. You ain't kidding. Great Adventure has an entire page on their site with all sorts of tips for the game while in the park. Ive said it elsewhere and I'll say it again - its only a matter of time before someone gets Raptor'd trying to catch a Pokemon. That poor tired intern that was commanded to make this page
  18. Much to everyone's chagrin, I am one of the few people who appreciate - and check for - the constant Lightning Rod updates, as I have a Dollywood trip planned in a week and a half, and "just wait until next year!" isn't really an option. So if any Illuminati members or secret lizard people have Zionist insider information on LR operations, I'm one of the folks who appreciate it
  19. Let's hope this is the beginning of brighter days for Lightning Rod! So I'm still not 100% sure what technical ride rehearsal means for me if I go tomorrow... I'm feeling dumb "Lightning Rod is open but will probably have a bunch of downtime until we're confident enough to say that it's Open No Guys For Real This Time We Mean It"
  20. To change the subject for a brief period of time: what's the best place to get coupons for the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster? Are they available only in certain areas, or is it pretty much every restaurant in Pigeon Forge or Sevierville?
  21. To take a break from the nonsense and rumors... For barbecue connoisseurs in Knoxville, if you had to choose between Chandler's, Archer's on Gay St., and Sweet P's Downtown Dive, which would you say is the best place to stop to eat for BBQ? Because of our schedule we'll only be able to eat at one of those three. I've seen praise and scorn heaped on all three in roughly equal amounts, and I'd hate to choose "wrong" if that makes sense.
  22. So one of the "exponents" almost erupted! I am far more distraught by the straight-faced use of "humorous memes."
  23. Whoops I didn't realize it was Shitposting O'Clock when I asked my question. That seems to have died down, so I'll try again: I'm planning a trip in July with 3 friends. I assume the TimeSaver Q-Bot works the same as at Six Flags, aka buy it online for a certain day, go to a building and pick it up, and reserve your ride times throughout the day, correct? Also, it seems like the cheapest bet for the actual tickets and parking is to buy them discounted from a participating grocery store, and take the tram into and out of the park? Does anyone have recommendations for particular stores that
