Vffreak07 Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 I didn't know him personally, but I do respect him. He was a good person. R.I.P. Dan. His family will be in my prayers.
cobra_roll06 Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 This is so sad. I never met him or talked alot to him, but he was one of the guys here on the forum who I know from his posts. It actually feels strange to know he won't post here anymore... RIP Yeah thats how I feel. I always enjoyed his posts, he always either said something informative, funny, or both. My prayers go out to your friends and family. RIP man.
Reality15 Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 I got the chance to meet Dan once... unfortunately I was the person to tell him he couldn't ride Maverick. I was really happy for him when he came on here and decided to try to lose weight in an effort to ride the ride. I was really sad to read this when I opened the forum this morning, but I hope that wherever he is, he's finally getting the chance to ride the coaster he worked so hard to get on.
BeemerBoy Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 His obituary stated that in his memory, his family would like people to donate to the Lake County Humane Society. Would anyone be interested in making a group donation on behalf of Theme Park Review to them? I will call them tomorrow (since it's Labor Day today) and get all the information I can. Can we set up a Paypal for this sort of thing? Wes, this is a great idea. I'm definitely willing to make a small donation in his honor. My prayers certainly are with his family in this rough time. It's sad to see the king of the random forum gone from us way too early in life.
DarkStitch626 Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 My prayers go to Masked_Maverick . RIP and Keep on Ridin' where ever you are bud.
FeelTheFORCE Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 This is really sad, I really enjoyed his posts and talking to him. I had a few conversations with him, it's sad knowing that he'll never post again. RIP.
StealthFan Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 This is a truly sad thing to read when logging onto the forums and it is really something I didn't not expect to see. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. RIP Masked_Maverick (If the PayPal account gets set up please do tell me I will try my best to get some money together to donate)
apollo210 Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 I just can't believe this. Even though I didn't really know him, but I did chat with him a couple of times on the chat and we had a lot of fun. Its just hard to believe that I'll never chat with him again. RIP Dan Miller (Masked_Maverick)
Disney Dood Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Even though I never talked to him, I remember him being a kind, happy guy whose posts I always enjoyed reading. Sad, sad stuff. RIP

darklingscribe Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Wow. My condolences. I assume he was an animal lover as well with the donations going to the Humane Society.
Airtime&Gravity Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Wow, very sad, my condolences go out to his family. Sad to hear about the accident, and it will be strange not to have him on the site anymore.
socalMAN123 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Wow, this is so sad. It just goes to show that anywhere you are something can still happen to you. I'm shocked about this, he was a very nice guy! Wes, if you get that PayPal up, I'm willing to give a small donation. So sad, he was to young. ---Brent
Ed Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I didn't know him at all, being honest here. But it's horrible to hear about this. It kinda makes you see how short life 'can' be. You might live to 100 or 20. Make the most of it. Rest in Peace.
ElToroExtreme Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 My you rest in peace Dan!!! To his family... I'm so sorry for your loss!
Skramp Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 This is definitely a sad moment. I loved his posts and his off-the-cuff humor. He will be missed by the whole TPR community. My deepest sympathy to his family and passenger. I think we should stop all the trains on CP lifthills for a minute in his honor. Thank you Dan for all your contributions to our community. RIP (P.S.- Wes, let me know when you get the PayPal account setup, I will definitely send some money that way.)
coasterdude5 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 RIP Dan. I didn't know you either, but I read several of your trip reports. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
odene497 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Wow, I was so shocked when I read this. I only knew him from his posts, but it's enough to make me miss having him around here. What I hate thinking about is how a couple of weeks ago he was talking on here, never knowing his time was so close. Truly sad. Rest in peace, Dan.
Erik Johnson Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I am sorry to find out this information today. Dan has contributed quite a bit to TPR, so he will be missed. I will miss his usual CP trip reports.
Loco Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I didn't know him. I only knew him by his posts, but it's still very sad. R.I.P. Dan
haux Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 After seeing his avatar, I realized that I know who he was. I worked at Cedar Point a for year or two when he did. We didn't know each other, but I certainly talked to him a few times and saw him often. How sad.
ratdogg68 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 This is a sad thing to hear of anyone who's only 25, and had so many goals in life. I have seen him around on other forums also. Set up that donation and I'll give, for him and the animals.
