Hey guys, I saw that during Winter Chill Out they announced that Maverick will be getting Intimidator 305 style restraints, is this a true statement.

I just saw it on my Facebook wall so I was curious.

Yeah. Very comfortable!

Maverick will now be a perfect coaster.

Haven't ridden Maverick yet either, but now that it is getting new restraints, it could certainly become a lot of people's new favorite coaster at the Point. I wonder if this means that Cedar Fair might start working with Intamin again for new rides, although this is just a restraint change.

I haven't ridden it yet, but that probably means that Maverick will undoubtedly be the best coaster at Cedar Point.

Millennium Force does and always will have its die hard fans. I think it's a good bet that Maverick will be more comfortable in the tight transitions, but MF will always hold a place as THE coaster. I love Maverick, I think it's an excellent ride, but personally, I think a Millennium Force back seat night ride is a really special experience. Even with improved restraints, I think I'll still be torn on my favorite steel coaster.

Until I make it to Carowinds and SFNE this summer. Then I'll re-evaluate. And El Toro > everything.

Already was.

Excited for the change though!

From coasterblu on PointBuzz:

"Okay, it's 2:00pm. Maverick is getting new restraints. Calipso has been moved and renamed Tiki Twirl. Dodgem has been COMPLETELY MOVED to right in front of maXair. A new, smaller version of Dodgem was build overlapping the line to Giant Wheel. It is named Joe Cool's Dodgem School. Good Times Theater has been cometely demolished and razed in order for unknown expansion for next year. Chickie and Pete's has restrooms this year. I think that that it it."

Turnpike cars is also being removed. Looks like that Dive Coaster is looking more and more promising in that area considering all the things they are removing or taking out over there.

HA! I was right about Rougarou's trains!

Can you link where you found this?

Edit: Wow, Dodgem relocated this offseason. Seriously not expecting that. Good to see these family rides relocated instead of removed.

To me, this adds quite a bit of fuel to the Dive coaster rumor. Why would they be doing all this NOW for a dark ride? This is going to be big.

New trains on Maverick! I was hoping to avoid cedar point this year on my coaster trips, but with my favorite coaster getting rid of the otsr, and the mantisraguoe conversion I'm gonna have to try them back out. Now if they could just add the zero g roll back onto Maverick the best coaster ever made would be better haha

Not new trains, new restraints. They will be the best ones like I305

Never in my life did I think I would read such a statement.

I am visiting Cedar Point this summer and I was a little worried from some of the reviews from Maverick with the head-banging...but now...I just can't wait to ride over and over again!

You're going to have to wait. That ride has the longest lines in the park!

I'm staying at Hotel Breakers for 2 nights and will be at the park for 3 days. I will be able to ride it multiple times haha. CAN'T WAIT!

PointBuzz posted this photo on their Facebook page showing a rendering of the re-done Wicked Twister midway:

This really helped to clarify for me exactly what's going where, since there's a lot changing over here in 2015. I'd imagine the rendering itself will eventually appear online somewhere at large resolution, as CP tends to do with them.

You have plenty of time to hit up all the great coasters! Just avoid Raptor and GateKeeper in the morning. I've never seen a coaster that has as long a wait as Raptor does early in the day, and have almost no line by the late afternoon. Also recommend hitting up Millennium Force right at closing, to get one of the final night rides.

Enjoy America's Rockin' Roller Coast!
