P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

So, I looked around and didn't see it on the forum anywhere... How is Cedar Shores? I never went to Soak City because I heard it was not worth it.

Secondly, what are the lines like? I like waterparks but waiting 30-45 minutes for a 20 second slide, come on, that's crazy! I know midweek should be calmer.

Anyways, is it a whole day park, slide selection ok, lines reasonable, and worth the trip? Thanks everyone.

When GK is running well, it's a nice change of pace from the other coasters in the park. It's more of a nice ride than an aggressive thrill ride.

Is it ever not running well? It's possibly the smoothest ride I've ever ridden and I've never once had a bad ride on it.

Neither had I but this year has been pretty bad. The first 2 rows are still wonderful but the rest of the train is pretty bouncy especially if the train isn't full

OMG. This is the most insane thing ever calling GK bouncy.

not sure why it's insane.

having ridden on the back left about 1 month ago? yep, "bouncy" is pretty accurate.

tho the front was always smooth.

Exactly. Still fun but I'd rather take a ride in the front where I'm pretty much guaranteed a great ride. No matter how full the train is or not.

Having ridden it 38 times on a trip just 3 weeks ago, the notion it's bouncy is insane. GK is the smoothest or one of the smoothest coasters around. I go to a ton of parks, 8 this year already.

which means absolutely NOTHING.

several people report the same "bouncy" experience.

you didn't have that experience (and you got to ride it 38 times!!). Whoopie-do. (I rode it 6 times over 3 days, once in fog! so I win!!)

others have.

so to call someone referring to it as "bouncy" as "insane" ?

let's just say your experience does not match what others have experienced, and leave it at that.

I haven't been this year, but I had a fun time going last year during my 3 day trip. Only made the visit because it was included in the ticket and had 3 days at the park. The new slides fill the"intense" void, but it's pretty much a mediocre collection of body and tube slides. They're all fun, but compared to the modern day water park none of the slides stand out. I believe we spent like, 90-120 minutes? Lazy river and wave pool were okay, too. We went Sun-Tues during the last week of every day operation. We hit up early ride time for the intamins and went to the water park when it opened at 11 or whatever. No lines at all.

Insane people hear the same voices once one insane person puts the notion in the ether. GK is in no way bouncy. The group think insanity is hilarious. Btw, you lose in more than one way.

I agree.

Weekdays shouldn't be too bad, but obviously the sunnier and warmer that it is, the chances of it being busier. Avoid it like the plague if it's the weekend and it's sunny and 80+ degrees.

I personally like the look of the new additions, the new Lake Erie theming, and of course...a new bar (along with the awesome newly-named Muffleheads swim-up bar) isn't going to hurt either!

I am salty that they removed the hot tub adjacent to the swim up bar. I had time alone to kill the day before Coastermania and thought lounging with a drink would be nice but sitting in a very cold pool with a colder beer is worse than marathoning an SLC.

Dude stop with the attacking of what me, bert, and many other people think.

We know what we feel on the ride. To us it is there. Don't discredit our opinion because you didn't feel the same thing.

Btw I rode GK in the front row today and it was wonderful

To be fair I pretty much never ride it anywhere besides the front because... we'll, why would you?

I did not like gatekeeper in the front seat. It felt like we were being held back the whole time whereas in the back left I believe we re rode that shit several times for that pull down the first drop. I doubt I venture back to the front seats again on that.

On the gatekeeper thing if your complaining about a B&M bounce or rattle or whatever stupid thing people are on their high horse about now, you clearly are way too spoiled by smooth rides. Ride enough woodies and marathon enough SLCs and you won't even notice it! (I've ridden Thunderhawk at MiA over 40 times in a four day period) But seriously it does nothing to make the ride unrideable. Period.

On another note I went to the park right before I got my wisdom teeth out (like two or three weeks ago) and had an awesome time. Love every ride in this park and just looking at the new Mean Streak gives me goosebumps. Also I got to ride Raptor at night with lightning in the horizon and that was one of the best experiences ever.

Edit:

Nearly forgot this picture of Raptor before said ride that looks like there is a UFO. If someone knows what it could be a reflection from feel free to say.IMG_8559.thumb.JPG.03bd6fd2c3548822b50d9f6dea486267.JPG

Lens flare from the bright, blown out light source in the frame. Perfect conditions for flare like that... Not a UFO, sorry!

Wtf?! "B&M Bounce???" Can someone please explain to me what this is??

The ends of the wing seats can vibrate and bend, like a very stiff diving board.

But it's not even that aspect that I don't enjoy, it's the terrible restraints that lock down and press on my collar bones and chest -- It's a bit suffocating.
