PKI Jizzman
Trying to pick between Aug 20-24 for Aug 27-31. Gotta believe the later in August the better, right? Anyone go during similar dates last year? Any locals know of events going on at CP that should be noted? Looks like they're offering a ticket special "Last Blast of Summer", so that should be a good indication that it should be slow.
christianscoasters
^Both of those times will be good to visit. You'll still get a random busy day every now and then but crowds for the most part are pretty manageable at that time. And you're here for several days anyway so you'll have no problem riding anything.
thepoint4life23
Most Ohio school will start before the end of August so i would say the last weekend in August would be a solid weekend to go.
coasterbill
Random tip but ride Gemeni on the weekend. They probably won't have the staffing to race it on those weekdays.
defrocker
Random tip but ride Gemeni on the weekend. They probably won't have the staffing to race it on those weekdays. I went in early May and they were only running one side. I passed. No real desire to ride it that way. Without racing, it's quite forgettable. bluestreak
Finally going to ride Iron Dragon VR later today! Can't wait! *Edit* It was awesome! Haven't ridden any of the Six Flags ones so I have nothing to compare it with, but it was certainly a ton of fun! bluestreak
At the park right now. Not very crowded. Everything is 30 minutes or less with the exception of Valravn which is 45 and Maverick which is over an hour.

I have been a regular attender of CP forever, yet I visit almost exclusively pre-mid-June, and post-third week of August. In my experience, some of the best visits I've had have during the week the last week of August.
MillenniumFangirl
I was flying from Washington DC to Detroit the other day, and I got a great surprise when I realized we were flying right over Cedar Point! This certainly isn't the highest-quality photo, but I thought it would be worth sharing nonetheless. Now I feel like I've seen Cedar Point from all angles

Password121
I don't think they'd do the official 2017 announcement this abruptly just on Twitter... I don't think it's this but just throwing out the idea of a ride closure/removal. I'm interested.
SbSteveZ
It's gonna be exactly like what happened to Mantis back in 2014. Remember? [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
PixelRush
Can someone kindly tell me the best seats for most of the rides? I'll be visiting next week, and I'd like to know your opinion on seating. Specifically Magnum XL-200 Also, food locations? ImNotOneOfYou
Can someone kindly tell me the best seats for most of the rides? I'll be visiting next week, and I'd like to know your opinion ions on seating. Specifically Magnum XL-200 I believe it's widely accepted that car 1 row 3 is the place to be on Magnum XL-200. As for Millennium Force, I prefer front in the day and back in the night. If the bug risk is high, stay towards the back. I spare coasterbill the work and say front row on Mean Streak, and lean forwards. The best seat on Blue Streak is any non-wheel seat. I haven't ridden Pipe Scream yet, so I don't know In the bathroom, the closest stall to the door. I'm not sure of an exact seat, but cars towards the front of the train on Gemini are better. Very back is a no no. I'm not a seat expert on the rest of the rides.
CPmillenia94
^For magnum, last car, middle row! I swear by it.
Password121
We did 1-3 and 6-2 on Magnum and thought 1-3 was both smoother and more intense, but to each their own.
coasterkyle
Can someone kindly tell me the best seats for most of the rides? I'll be visiting next week, and I'd like to know your opinion on seating. Specifically Magnum XL-200 Magnum : 1-3 or 6-1 Maverick : 3-2 Raptor : Row 8 far Right
SFOGdude25
If you want the most airtime on Magnum, yes, seat 1-3, but it's also probably the most painful row. Seats 1-2 and 6-2 though are both smooth and really good for airtime. Also, ride closure anyone?
LiftThrill
Can someone kindly tell me the best seats for most of the rides? I'll be visiting next week, and I'd like to know your opinion on seating. Specifically Magnum XL-200 Also, food locations? Maverick - very back Any of the B&Ms - front row Millennium Force - front row Magnum - 1-2 for no pain, 1-3 for extreme airtime and lots of pain. tighten seatbelt as much as you possibly can Blue Streak - front row Mean Streak - front row (lean forwards) Gemini - anywhere but wheel seats Dragster - front row as for food, anything but the Coasters burgers should be OK
christianscoasters
GateKeeper: Back left or front right Raptor: back row, right seat Wicked Twister: second to last row, right seat Blue Streak: anywhere towards the front Valravn: back left or right. Front is so overrated Rougarou: back right. Tons of airtime and stomach-tingling awesome. Front is the roughest Millennium: very middle (trust me) Maverick: anywhere works Mean streak: second to last row Mine ride: anywhere Gemini: front row or second to last row. Amazing air in the front Magnum: 1-3 or 6-2 Dragster: anywhere. Front if you can. Corkscrew: nowhere
Nrthwnd
.....Also, food locations? Famous Dave's "Lookin' for some great BBQ? Head over to Famous Dave's for fantastic fare like St. Louis-style ribs, chicken and more. Located in the Cedar Point Marina. Hand stamp required for re-entry into the park. Featuring ribs, chicken, beef brisket, pulled pork, salads, onion strings, rib tips, burgers, full-service bar & soft drinks."
