woolandmammoth Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Perhaps V-rav's first drop will dive under the marina entrance path and than have the immelmann return directly over the path. That would certainly be visually striking to say the least! Would also fit the current Cedar Fair entrance motif.
blakelemay23 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Anybody planning on going in the morning to take pictures?
Coaster Hero Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I just checked through the thread, and that track is MASSIVE, even compared to Mako's. Makes sense for the track to arrive right about now, as the announcement would have been today. This is going to be huge and very visible in the park.
Mr.Peabody Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I know there's next to no chance of this happening, but I'd absolutely love it if Cedar Point pulled a fast one on the whole enthusiast community and announced a B&M Flyer. I don't think the allotted land is big enough for such a ride, though. Hopefully they'll add one for their anniversary in 2020. I'm really looking forward to Halloweekends this September and may have to check out Coastermania next year.
BDG Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Anybody planning on going in the morning to take pictures? "The view from my Cedar Point hotel room this morning..." (kbups53 @ Reddit)
DoinItForTheFame Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Anybody planning on going in the morning to take pictures? "The view from my Cedar Point hotel room this morning..." (kbups53 @ Reddit) Oh. Em. Gee... this is really happening!! I really can't wait for our VIP Tour to the park next year. It's been years since I've been on a dive machine and my partner has never been on one. Can't wait for a new experience together! I have no doubt in my mind that this coaster will be a great, thrilling addition to the park.
RCT3Bross Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Well we at least now are 100% sure CP gets a Dive coaster. So let construction begin exited to see it.
DILinator Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Anybody planning on going in the morning to take pictures? "The view from my Cedar Point hotel room this morning..." (kbups53 @ Reddit) Well, that confirms it! It's a bit of good news/bad news for me... I love that we're getting a new coaster at CP! Still can't stand that it's another shade of Orange! (Insert Vomiting smiley here!)
RaceBoarder Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I think the trailer got a flat tire... They are just bringing in another trailer to take the track up to Canada's Wonderland... Got to put the track somewhere while the new trailer is on the way
kcurry11 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 So once all the track arrives, I'm sure someone will attempt to piece it all together and confirm a layout. With all the spine size variations and such, it can't be that hard can it? Maybe I'll try to do it. Actually, probably not.
coasterbill Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I think that might be the Petro/BP on I-75 in North Baltimore, Ohio. (edit: originally had the wrong location) Can I just go back to this for a minute? How can you even begin to be able to tell all the Petro / TA truck stops apart? There's got to be at least a hundred of them across the country (probably many more) EDIT: 249 apparently. If you could really do that based on pictures that show as little as that one I'd be amazed (and a little concerned lol). Even if you were a trucker my mind would be blown, lol. Anybody planning on going in the morning to take pictures? "The view from my Cedar Point hotel room this morning..." (kbups53 @ Reddit) That's pretty much exactly where they put Maverick's track isn't it?
thrillrider Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 There are pictures floating around of the track pieces arriving at the park. They are being loaded in the fenced in area.
grsupercity Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Any tpr members at CP that can take pics, it would be appreciated
RyanTPM Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 ^There is a picture on the last page showing the track being unloaded.
grsupercity Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 ^There is a picture on the last page showing the track being unloaded. Thrillrider said it was in the fenced off construction area of CP
kcurry11 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 ^All the track is being placed outside of the park at Breakers Express, the same place where Maverick's track was stored.
thrillrider Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 ^There is a picture on the last page showing the track being unloaded. Thrillrider said it was in the fenced off construction area of CP I never said "construction"area..I said fenced in area, meaning the area next to breakers express.
DJeXeL Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 ^All the track is being placed outside of the park at Breakers Express, the same place where Maverick's track was stored. That's correct
grsupercity Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Oh sorry for the confusion. I read wrong. My bad. Carry on
DoinItForTheFame Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Any tpr members at CP that can take pics, it would be appreciated Did you look at the last page??? There is already a picture.
grsupercity Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Any tpr members at CP that can take pics, it would be appreciated Did you look at the last page??? There is already a picture. I get that. Saw those pics. I thought they were being moved to the fenced off construction zone. Hence why I said my bad carry on
coasterbill Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 So once all the track arrives, I'm sure someone will attempt to piece it all together and confirm a layout. With all the spine size variations and such, it can't be that hard can it? Nope... it's easy. You just need to measure the spine size variations, compare them to the nearest object with known dimensions, then check the acute obtusity of the isosceles tangent, divide by pi and carry the 2. I did all of these calculations this morning on my TI-83 + and then used Autocad to render everything out, this is what I came up with... I'm good at math. I'm smart

kcurry11 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 ^^ I took you seriously for about 3 seconds. Then I realized how stupid I am for taking you seriously for about 3 seconds.

Yes, but there's only two Petro stations on the way from the Cincinnati area to Sandusky (New Baltimore and Perrysburg), and that's the only one with a sign post that matches the picture.
