P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

well, i know a few employees at cedar point that have stated that the park is planning a new ride for the 2010 season, and that an aquatrax IS one of the options. also, in this image, http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/8691/cpcompair.png , you can see where land has been cleared between MF and SRF, which fits for a water ride because it's in close proximity to the other water rides!

I've only ever been to CP in June, so, generally speaking, is it busy on Labor Day weekend? I was just curious as that's when I'm going this year, and I had no idea what the crowds are USUALLY like during that point in the season.

I thought I'd post this for the CP fanboys.

I have to say, that prior to Maverick - Wicked Twister did rate as one of the best coasters (at CP) for me. Millie was the top, then WT. Anyways, I wish they could put more rides along the beach - I like the views from this side of the park better. Too bad the construction/2010 project is on the other side of the park....Not that there is room on the beachfront....

Went to the park today to ride Mav. and see if I could get a pic. of the spiders but turned right around when i drove past Mean Streak and the line was through half of the switchbacks.....no thank you.

LOL yep when Mean Streak has a decent line you know it's busy. I been quite a bit this year and I can't say I've noticed a horrible spider infestation. Shoot I saw a big black snake in Animal Kingdom once when i was sitting on a bench. It slithered right by me in a garden. Does AK have a snake infestation problem? I doubt it. Will I go back? Yes!

^ I never said I wouldn't go back.

I've had a season pass every year since 1998, and I have also been there MANY times this season and I have NEVER seen spiders that bad.

There is a big difference between seeing A spider, and seeing HUNDREDS of spiders.

Speaking of snakes. I saw a girl get bit by a snake in line for Magnum one year. It was just a little guy, but it still bit her. She was provoking it by trying to pet it though.

I unfortunately didn't have my camera or phone on me to snap any photos.

I did some research on Google though and I can say that I'm about 80% sure that they are not Brown Recluse spiders. From what I have gathered, Brown Recluse spiders are solid colored. These spiders had more of a Tarantula style color with the different shades of browns, tans, and blacks from what I could tell. They were not hairy though, and did not even come close to the size of a Tarantula.

There were some visible during the day, but as soon as it got dark they were ALL OVER the damn place!

Maybe it was just an odd day. I know the Mayflies get bad at CP during a certain time of year, so maybe it was the spiders turn that day. Who knows. All I know is that I hope they aren't nearly as bad the next time I head down there.

Took a day trip up today:

Park was packed. Saturday bad. And it's Wednesday!!! No special events....just bad luck. ALL rides had FULL queues and spilling into the midway, even Mil.F and Raptor!!!

-Got SEVEN rides in NINE hours.

-Wicked Twister first, and a walk on. Umm...did they cut out a lap? I rode in the back seat, and only went all the way to the top....ONCE! The ride was over right when I was about to have fun.

-Dragster at 10:15AM....HOUR wait already. I rode in the last row, since it's impossible to get the frontseat without a 30 minute wait. Lovely as always. Trains were flying over the top hat.

-Magnum 30 minute wait. Trim was on HARD. It was an okay ride. Needs new restraints, it'd be awesome.

-Millennium Force, 1 hour, 45 minute wait. I rode in 5-1....where the Discovery Channel says is best. It was better than the back; a fun ride. It just meanders around. ONE nice airtime hill off the Millennium Island. It's a fun ride like I said, but wow...again, Diamondback is so much better. If you like airtime, go for Diamondback. If you like....coasting around, go for Millennium. Even the first drop can't save it. Diamondback has it beat from the start.

-Maverick, 1 hour 45 minute wait. Worth the wait, Worth the wait, Worth the wait, Worth the wait, Worth the wait. This ride is incredible. Everything you'd want in a coaster....and soooo, OH SO much more. It's amazing. Stop whining about the restraints, the ride still kicks so much butt.

-Gemini, 30 minute wait. Crew is the most rude people I've seen. Don't judge someone if you haven't met them.

-Raptor, 45 minute wait. A full queue house. Went by fast; it's a B&M with an obnocious, pushy crew. The line moves fast. It's tied with my favorite invert, Afterburn. Only go for the front.

BUT!

Maverick was hauling a$$. It was running soooo smooth and so well, it's tied Voyage for my Number One coaster.

That was worth the trip. God, such an amazing ride. I love it! But darn, crappy day for a guest at CP.

-Zach
