  1. I've always thought of Goliath as a Hyper Twister. The first half is out-and-back, and the second half is twisted. Is it this new brand of hyper? No. Is it a standard out-and-back? No. Is it a Hyper Twister like, say, Raging Bull. I'd say yes. I look at an image like that and say the ride is pretty twisted.
  2. I don't about having them for Ravine Flyer II, but PTC does have their own one-row cars on their website. I just don't think they've been used.
  3. THANK YOU! It's really not that hard. - Copy/paste the list - Delete the coasters you haven't ridden and mark them with a "Y" - Mark "Y" if you rode them this year - Rank them! I just don't understand how this is hard! --Robb I'm betting those who are saying it is hard are trying to use the official tutorial, not the one on this site. I found the official tutorial to be over-complicated and spent about 15 minutes figuring out the instructions before realizing that all if was asking was what you posted: A simple four step process. The official tutorial takes about 3 pages to explain something that should take 4 lines.
  4. Even though the entire list is in my signature, I might as well post it here too. 1 - Viper SFGAm 2 - Blue Streak Cedar Point 3 - Screamin' Eagle SFStL 4 - American Eagle SFGAm 5 - Mean Streak Cedar Point 6 - Gwazi (Tiger) Busch Gardens Tampa (couldn't bring myself to ride Lion after this piece of crap. To all who think Mean Streak is bad, get down to Florida and ride this) Should probably mention that there are 8 steel coasters ahead of these.
  5. If I remember correctly, the Gravity Group went out and evaluated the coaster a while back and said they could salvage it.
  6. ^ In the (likely) event that Kingda Ka experiences difficulties, Nitro will take its place.
  7. I noticed that too. I'm pretty sure that it's just an error in the computer rendering. Otherwise, the front car would tilt forward and scrape along the track, which would definitely add to the thrill factor in a dying/severe injury sort of way. Either that, or there's a really strong beam underneath the car holding up the front of it. I think the PTC cars may look better, but these cars look like they'll be very comfortable. It'll also be interesting to see a 14 car train. I wish I could get out to Holiday World and ride this thing! My bet is that its done like B&M Floorless trains. The first and second car can only roll in relation to each other, and all the other cars in the train can pitch, yaw, and and roll in relation to each other. So the first car effectively becomes the zero car. This is the same thing that is done with a zero car on Flyers and most B&M trains, but they just plopped a pair of seats on the zero car in this case. I didn't even think about how B&M floorless coasters have no zero car. That would make sense. However, I still think there may be a set of wheels missing from the rendering. That front car just looks really weird with so much of it sticking out in front of the wheels.

  9. I was wondering when the Timberliners were ever going to debut.
  10. Well, this probably isn't the nerdiest thing I've ever done, but I was bored, so I just got done looking at various websites for the different Roller Coaster designers and noticed a few funny things. 1) GCI's website links to Theme Park Review, which is listed as a "friend of GCI." 2) S&S Power installed "X" in Japan in 2006, according to them. 3) Premier Rides (which has just about the most unprofessional website for any company ever) links to Disney.com as one of their links, despite not installing any rides for them. I find that very strange. Yeah, I was really bored.
  11. I sure hope this is true. When I rode it back when the brake was still used, the back tower was actually my favorite part of the ride. Does anybody else like V2 more than Wicked Twister? My head always got whipped to the side on the back tower of Wicked Twister, even when I tried bracing for it.
  12. I don't mind the name, but then again, I think Cedar Fair does a pretty good job naming their rides (with Drop Tower and the non-silver Silver Bullet being my only two major complaints).
  13. I agree with everything you said. What Florida's version of Nemo does in about 5 minutes, Disneyland's takes 15, and there's not much added. Plus, the Florida version has a much better finale.
  14. It's technically the 3rd tallest coaster in the park at 215 feet, which unless I'm mistaken, means it's the only hyper inverted coaster in the world.
  15. Now THAT'S a movie I'm looking forward to. I'd pay ten bucks to see a Huss Giant Frisbee take out some zombies anyday. The only theme park scene I've seen in the commercials is a guy shooting zombies with a shotgun while on a Wild Mouse. Still, pretty awesome.
  16. It was there when I went in October 2007, too. I know I was there in 07 and don't remember this....how small is it? Also am I the only one that wishes they would keep the demon song/radio thing on all year round I don't know. I remember it being on the park map, but I didn't go since I hate haunted houses/scare zones of any kind. I just happened to be in the park October 2007 and remember a scare zone themed to the Demon being near the Rock Climbing zone on the map. Didn't see the entrance, though.
  17. Thunder Run is awesome, but how dare you say that about a GCI! Let me ask you a question: Have you ever been on Gwazi?
  18. Even though Great America is the closest Six Flags to my home, I agree. There are a lot more parks in the chain that would need this ride more than Great America. However, I think it was smart to move Chang from Kentucky Kingdom. I know it sucks for the people there, but the fact is that when you have a water park that's booming and a dry park that's tanking, you should focus on your strengths. There's a point when the dry park's attendance is so low, any additions to it wouldn't be worth it. And why is the dry park tanking? It's because SFI hasn't put any new rides in it for years....it's just for this reason that I stopped going to SFA after the 2007 season when they finally announce a new ride for 2008 that turned out to be yet ANOTHER mundane waterslide. GL suffered this same fate & while folks blame CF for it's demise it was SFI who started the ball rolling in 2002 when, following the addition of x-flight no further cap ex improvements were made to the park because they went on a "let's give all the rides to SFMM,SFGRADV & SFGRAM & the rest get nothing" kick....a kick that continues unabated to this day. I'm not trying to say it's not Six Flags' fault for screwing it up in the first place. I'm saying that now that they've messed it all up, they're making the smart choice and not pumping millions of dollars into a black hole.

  20. Agreed. Granted, the only "crotch busters" I've been on are Iron Wolf and Mantis, I never even came close to feeling any pain down there. My head, on the other hand...
  21. That's very interesting. I'm trying to look for any information about this, but can't find anything. That's definitely weird.
  22. Maybe you're referring to Round-About. It's a Premier Coaster with a Ferris Wheel lift and the track kind-of looks like the coaster you've linked to. Round About
