thepoint4life23 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 they dont ask for your number when you rsvp. just what club your with. so you just need the card by may 9th
PhantomNick Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Wow, this has been a long day apparently! I don't know where I thought I saw a place asking for a membership number, because you're right, they only ask for which club! Sorry for the confusion with that previous dumb post on my part! Time to go home.....and then join Club TPR! Incidentally, I think this is a pretty awesome gesture by Cedar Point! I've always wondered what a media day was like.....looks like I'll get to find out in May!!
CpBluestreakCp Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 On PointBuzz, it was reported that GateKeeper supposedly had a successful first flight this afternoon. No immediate proof yet other than it was from a trusted source.
coasterlover420 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Some CP personnel on Facebook have been hinting to said test run all day Perhaps why the cameras are off
necoastergp Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 The difference this coaster has made to the park since my visit in August is amazing, totally opens up the area. Also I love the color scheme in front of the lake, hopefully Wicked Twister's line isn't affected too much by the GK crowds. I can't wait to see the finished project with the GK area and new entrance.
pbw32002 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Hello, I accidentally paid for two different Hampton Inn hotels in Sandusky on Thursday, May 23, and would like to offer one of those hotel rooms to anyone interested for a very good deal - $50. That is the night of the season pass holder event on Gate Keeper after the park closes to the public. Please let me know if you plan to be there and haven't made hotel arrangements yet. Thanks.
CpBluestreakCp Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 From Cedar Point's Facebook page: O.M.G.!! (Oh. My. GateKeeper.!!) The inaugural flight of GateKeeper was a breathtaking success! Keep it locked on Facebook and the OnPoint blog for more updates coming soon!
SFOGdude25 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Looks great! Hopefully a video will be coming soon!
RCT3Bross Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 The holes are a lot bigger then I expected. Still very awesome to see can't wait for a onride.
TyRush Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 OMG i may have just had a minor coaster orgasm here im study hall! Cant wait to see a video
VinTheAttendant Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Holy crap!!! The limbs were ripped off those dummies It's great to see the ride testing, I've been waiting to see that beautiful blue track come to life. I think this is the most attention I've given to a coaster's construction, and every massive step like this one towards opening day just gives me a new reason to be excited for my trip this summer.
Coaster Curt Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Through the keyhole is really awesome, can't wait to ride it in May.
PhantomNick Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Gatekeeper looks really great! I am loving that keyhole element even more seeing the actual train gliding through there! Looking forward to eventually seeing a video of it testing. Can't wait until May 9th!
rcjp Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Wow! Seeing the train actually moving through the track is quite something. Really looking forward to seeing a video and even more to give it a try in August!
necoastergp Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 The train looks awesome going through the keyhole. Good job CP.
Devious Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 The gaps in the keyhole posts is making my design OCD go nuts. Gatekeeper is looking all kinds of awesome though, can't wait for media day reports!
-Edge of Beast- Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Gatekeeper looks awesome going through that element! I must have a POV.
FaithPlus1 Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 The gaps in the keyhole posts is making my design OCD go nuts. Gatekeeper is looking all kinds of awesome though, can't wait for media day reports! I love the design.
Wes Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 I really like the gaps in the keyholes too...think it makes it look futuristic.
Geauga Dog Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Absolutely beautiful! A sure sign that spring has finally hit Ohio. Now I can't wait to hit this on vacation in June.
robbalvey Posted April 6, 2013 Author Posted April 6, 2013 Some stunning pictures of Gatekeeper's first test run that our friends at Cedar Point emailed to me! What do you all think?
