SharkTums
So another report of no audio on Terminator...can anyone confirm hearing it since WCB? Didn't think so. As for your question, I think normal people get bored of anything after too long or too much riding. There are only a few random coaster people I know of that can keep going on a ride/to a park over and over again without getting bored.
Sir Clinksalot
^ I also think "normal" people tend to be more interested in entertainment, characters, etc. Me, I could care less about shows (for the most part as there are exceptions). Granted, there are creepy people who will see the Disney parades every visit and stand in line for hours to see the princesses, but they are weirder than all of us. austinlee
Darn it! I was planning on going 4/18. I didn't realize there was a school event going on.Maybe i'll go Mothers Day. I'll think about it. Thanks! You're welcome, glad to help. Sorry for blowing up your plan for 4/18. Mothers Day is probably a safe bet. I've done that a few times and every time it was nearly as empty as a school day. ^^^^ I have been going to SFMM on a regular basis for the better part of three decades including once every 3-4 weeks since mid-2007. I always try to ride as many coasters as I can on every visit and have not got tired or bored of it yet. I just love the place. austinlee
I found out that Ninja was closed. I was anticipating that it was going to be open. I still haven't rode Ninja since 2005 (so my Ninja drought continues...on). That stinks. Their website said it would reopen on 4/3 and I just checked it a second ago and now it says it will reopen in late April. I'm going in a couple weeks and I hope Ninja is open by then. I did ride it in December though so it won't be that big of a deal to me if it isn't.
gforce532
In regards to the sick of riding the coasters question. I do actually do get sick and tired of the coasters so I usually never spend a full day there if I'm by myself. But it dosen't stop me from wanting to come back as often as possible. I really think mm needs to invest more effort in improving their live entertainment collection. One thing I really miss about mm is the batman stunt show. I always found what I call the corny, low budget, batman themed waterworld to be very entertaining. With the xtreme stunt show, I saw it once and couldn't care less, because you can go all over and find those anywhere. But where can you go to see batman fighting the joker or the riddler in a pyrotechnical spectacular. And recently I was comenting to somebody about how they use to have a firework show a few years ago. I would also love to see them get a glow in the park parade next year considering disneyland might not have the electrical parade next year. I know mm is mainly about the coasters but I personally do love to watch shows or other forms of live entertainment too, that also might distract some people from going on the coasters, thus making the lines slightly shorter. jedimaster1227
http://travel.latimes.com/daily-deal-blog/index.php/slambang-blends-drum-6732/ A new show called “SlamBang” making its debut this summer at Six Flags Magic Mountain will combine street drumming, urban sounds and rhythmic dancing into a thumping and throbbing theater experience. Described as Blue Man Group meets “Stomp” meets Cirque du Soleil, the 22-minute show at the Valencia park will be performed three times a day from June 12 through Sept. 6 in the Magic Moments Theater (near the Colossus wooden roller coaster). “Every scene is a rhythmical orchestration of everyday sounds,” said Scott Sterner, Magic Mountain entertainment manager. “It’s all things you hear in everyday life, but what makes it special is the way it’s put together.” Featuring six dancers/drummers, “SlamBang” blends found-object drumming, body-movement percussion and aerial arts on a multi-level stage and platforms interspersed throughout the 900-seat theater. The storyline involves the creation of an imaginary amusement park ride using visuals and sounds. “SlamBang” was developed by former “Stomp” performers Raquel Horsford and Ahmed Best. Best is best known as Jar Jar Binks from the “Star Wars” prequels, one of the most despised characters in cinematic history. “SlamBang” replaces the woefully bad “CSI: Live” stage show, which possessed only one redeeming feature: It offered an air-conditioned respite on a hot summer day. coasterking2981
^Did Dick Kinzel take over Magic Mountain? Seriously, 'Slambang'?
the ghost
I dont think slam bangs too bad of a name. Shows work differently than rides, and if Dick Kinzel had its way it would be called Show:The Show.
atem122
"Slambang" sounds like a Friday night at my house. But it does sound like a cool idea for a show. Anything with Jar Jar in it HAS to be good.
RCFreak
Oh sure, the one year I don't get a pass to the park they actually put in a show I would actually consider wanting to see.
piers
Slambang sounds like exactly the sort of thing i always try to escape from in parks. (Im always very dubious when anyone in a park approaches me with a trash can...)
socalMAN123
Did Dick Kinzel take over Magic Mountain? Seriously, 'Slambang'? In all honesty, I think it's great that SFMM is getting a show that I actually want to make an effort to go and see. ---Brent

austinlee
I'm not interested in this show at all but maybe it will shrink a few lines a tiny bit when I visit the park during Summer Break.
AWill961
I actually liked CSI: Live.
coasterking2981
^Well, who wouldnt like an air-conditioned room? I dont mind the park getting a new show. Just the name could have been better than 'Slambang'. It sounds like a energy drink. "Drink Slambang! It'll quench ya! It's the quenchiest!" AWill961
No, I liked the performance of the actors and the questions they asked...and everything. It was the best part of my visit that day. I mean, I could have been riding Goliath and other rides that had no lines, but I was enjoying CSI: Live instead because it was pure awesome!! Fat-G
Do they they still have the Batman Begins Show, I figured they would have try to update it to the Dark Knight.

PeoplemoverMatt
Wow. This is the best they could come up with? No thanks. How can you negatively judge a show that no one's ever seen before?
netdvn
^ Because some coaster enthusiasts have a magical crystal ball that allows them to see into the future. When a new coaster is announced, the enthusiast automatically knows how it handles, even before riding the coaster. That's why they're quick to judge. The same goes for a show. SharkTums
You know that Robb and I always yell at people about judging something before it's open, but to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, it's a Six Flags rip off version of Stomp or Bang or whatever the Disney/Broadway one was called. Just like when they did the Cirque rip off, also wasn't that great. I don't think anyone is expecting amazing ground breaking things here. Doesn't mean the show sucks, but I do feel it's probably easier to judge a show like this before it opens as opposed to a new roller coaster. kidcoaster 2
I personally like the name of the show.. I mean could have been alot worst and what kind of name are some people expecting? Of course with any show it is hit-or-miss some people like some thing others don't thats just the way it is and I am sure 'Slambang" will be a nice addition to SFMM or any other SF park they decide to put it in. I could swear that at one time, the Magic Moments Theater had 1200 seats, but maybe the seating section will be reconfigured for this show to increase the stage size. The name SlamBang attracts attention, which will get people to the show. I think they call that "marketing."
