noticias24
I am going to SFMM for the first time april 24th, saturday. I was wondering if you know how bad the crowds are at this time of the year. Anyway I am going with a tour bus company...I know it sucks, but was my only option, so I am hopefully going to spend 6 hours at the park. I bought the Platinum Flash Pass because I want to be sure I ride all the major coasters since I won-t be going back there anytime soon. I want to know if you think is possible to ride all the major coasters, X2, Terminator, Viper, Deja vu, etc. in that period of time and leave me some time to get some pictures. Thanks! SharkTums
^I'm assuming the bus doesn't get you there for opening? Â The biggest issue is that if you're not there for opening I've seen a 45 minute line on a Saturday just to pick up your Flashpass!!! Â Give us the exact times you're supposed to be there and we can help a bit more.
noticias24
^ We are supposed to arrive no later than 11:30, and the bus will leave at 6:
SharkTums
Yikes, yeah that's what I thought. Â Depending on how long the line is to pick up your flashpass you'll have a good shot at riding most majors, but I believe on a Saturday it will be difficult but doable. Make sure to also add on the X2 option to your Platinum Flashpass. Â If you have more money you're willing to spend, perhaps consider one of the VIP Tours where they will meet you in person right away and you can start riding immediately. noticias24
Oh yeah I will add the X2 option for sure and will look into the VIP tours, thanks for the advice!
SharkTums
^I wouldn't normally advise the VIP Tour, but for someone with limited time, who's never been to the park before, and may not make it back for a long time it would be worth the money if you have it! noticias24
I am also considering going on sunday if I don't ride all the coasters I want so I am not that pressured. I would have preferred to go on weekdays but without a car, tour buses seem to be the only choice.
Andy 24
Just a qiuck question...It might sound stupid, but is it cheaper to purchase the food vouchers ($10) rather than just purchase their food from their other food stands or restaurants?
SharkTums
It depends what you're into. If you're okay with one of the three or four choices provided on the voucher, then yes you'll usually save a dollar or two. Â If you want something else, not worth it. Â If you're trying to be VERY cheap, then just leave the park for food.
DJeXeL
^^There's a Wendy's within walking distance and a Jack In The Box a short drive away. As Elissa said, you will save $5 or so by leaving the park.
AWill961
I use to go to Wendy's.... I would get the stamp on my hand and then walk to Wendy's with my friends.  I don't do it anymore. I just get subway and a cooler and water bottles...put that in the trunk of my car... and we leave the park and go to the car to eat.  The Wendy's is overpriced due to the proximity to the park. just in case you were thinking about going that route.  I am going to SFMM for the first time april 24th, saturday. Thanks!  It's possible to ride all these rides in that time frame without a flash pass even on a Saturday, but I realize you're not getting to the park at opening....so  I guess anything is possible with a flash pass, even in that amount of time frame. I don't think you're have a problem getting all the rides in with that thing.
Andy 24
Alright, I'll just get the vouchers then...the food on the list sounds pretty good. Im going tommorow with a couple of my friends, I know its gonna be really packed thats for sure.. ...Thanks guys for the info!
atem122
I went to SFMM on Saturday, April 25 last year. These were the lines I encountered: Riddler's Revenge's line out of the queue. Which is a VERY long (length and time wise) queue. Scream, which never has a line, had this line when I first looked at it. It grew even longer later in the day. Â So yeah, definitely look into Flash Passes or VIPs or whatever other BS SFMM offers. You're probably going to need it.
AWill961
^ That was the line for Riddlers.... Â I remember seeing it that long and Batman's back in 1998. But just wow,
noticias24
I already bought the Platinum Flash Pass for that day, so my only hope is that it cuts 90% of the line as it says on MM-s web
XII
Yeah. Usually, Saturdays in April tend to look like this. Not an acceptable amount of crowds.
gforce532
Its been a long time since...actually ive never seen scream's line down the stairs. Whenever I go on a crowded day scream is usually my salvation for waiting in long lines. The last time I saw riddler with that long of a line was when I first went on it about 6 years ago and they were only running one train which came out to be a good 2 hours plus wait. But hey it was my first time on it.
PeoplemoverMatt
It's always sort of amusing to me to read people say how Scream! never has a line, it's unacceptable to wait any amount of time for Scream!, etc. People forget that a ride like Scream! would be a top headliner attraction in a park that didn't already have rides like X2, Tatsu, Goliath and others. Â Thats what makes rides like scream and viper among the best rides in the park. Not because the ride experience but the fact that they are multi looping machines without a long line the majority of the time. That if they were at alot of other parks they would usually have long lines.

Also, I never said that Scream! isn't worthy of a line, I merely stated that it usually has a very short line (which is a fact) to give the poster reference to how large the crowds would be.       That said, I still do hate Scream!

In my experience, Flash Passes usually cut off more time than what is advertised. I think you will be able to ride everything since you are getting that.  atem122, I have never seen lines as long as they were in those pictures, even during Summer Break. This backs up the idea I have been following for many years about never going to SFMM on a Saturday. Q-bots have opened up new possibilities about visiting the park when it is crowded and still having a good visit, but you can still do just as much or more on a less crowded day for much less cost.  I think Scream is a great ride. I have never waited more than 15 minutes to ride it and even that has only happened a few times. It has been a walk on in almost every visit including once during Spring Break and during Summer Break in 2008 and 2009. I am always very happy to walk over there and find out that a coaster I really like has no line even when the park is crowded.
