P. 2239: Superman: Escape from Krypton permanently closed

Recommended Posts

I was suppose to be for the front of the trains.

Oh wow! That's pretty awesome!

Does anyone know why it didn't happen?

Because there isn't anything to shoot at Otherwise, we would have had the first dark-shooter-coaster ever.

The things were actually too heavy to mount to the front of the trains. So basically, they had a 2 of those robots just lying around in the storage shed for a while. I'm glad they at least have some use now haha

(...and Scream! was still lame yesterday, albeit a little better than I remembered )

I was just a Knott's yesterday, thinking that Scream would be far more appreciated in that park than Magic Mt. Personally I like the ride. The pacing could be better, and its no Medusa west or Kraken. Its better than a kiddie coaster any day.

It may be more appreciated by the GP, but most likely not by coaster enthusiasts. Poop is still poop whether its in your toilet, or on the Queen of England's throne.

Edit: Oh yeah, still no audio on either of Terminator's trains.

^ Its about context, not base potty humor. Medusa east nee Bizarro isn't all that either when it sits in the shadow of El Toro and across the park from Nitro. Stick it in the Adventuredome or some other lesser park, it shines. The best coaster is the one I'm riding now, or can get to. Try living somewhere where there aren't any decent spins, you'll see.

^As I said, it'd please the GP more since they'd have nothing to compare it with. But for an even mildly seasoned enthusiast like you or myself, it'd still rank the same whether it was at SFMM or *insert small park here*; hence my poop related metaphor.

I think Scream could be appreciated more at KBF because they don't have nearly as many high quality coasters as SFMM does. I will also insert another token comment right here about how I really like Scream even if I am in the minority on that, just for perspective.

Too bad the audio on Terminator still wasn't working. I hope they fix that soon since I'm going to the park in the next week or two.

Yeah, you'll have to give us an update as to if it's working again or not.

Purely hypothesis here, but does anyone think it might have to do with the audio sensors on the track? Perhaps one is malfunctioning or something so they shut all of the audio down? Because it just seems too weird to have 2 trains with their audio down without a constant...

So you are comparing Scream! with poop? In all seriousness if they painted it and gave it some love I think it's a perfectly good ride. I don't find it rough and it's just another B&M Floorless to me. Then again I am one who loves X2 and doesn't find it rough until the last turn.

They could make a great horror movie with those two.

I still think during Fright Fest they need to give Mr. Six a chainsaw..

Hell, Last year at Ghost Lake we gave chain saws to Shrek, Bob The Builder, Cookie Monster, Scooby Doo, Dora the Explorer & Boots, and Elmo!

It unnecessarily and personally annoys me that a nice B&M was just dropped on a parking lot but there's nothing we can do about it. I guess it was a "sorry X and Deja Vu are always broken" band-aid, abet an expensive one. And that paint job, and Nitro's, were destined to look bad upon fading. On an unrelated-ish note, I bet it'll be a pain in the neck to pain Patriot at WOF, since it has that white stripe all along the spine.

I don't find Scream rough either. I have not had any problems re-riding it multiple times on many visits, in many cases without exiting the train. I never had much trouble with X2 either until my last visit. I am hoping that was a one time issue, since it had never happened to me before, and I will not have any problems on it on my next visit.

I rode X2 three times on Sunday (twice in the front, once in row two) on the outside seat each time and didn't really have a problem with it's roughness. It got kinda rattly and painful going up the first raven turn, but after that it was really smooth sailing. I don't think I've ever had a smoother ride through the last raven turn than on my three rides. X2 is just a temperamental ride, some days it'll treat you nicely, and other days it'll beat you up. You shouldn't really have to worry about hitting your head that hard again. Yes, it certainly can (and may) happen, but it usually doesn't.

At 250 lbs I absolutely cannot ride on the outside of X2.

I have found that no matter where I'm sitting, though, I have to keep my head braced against the headrest (thank God for its "U" shape). Austin, when you got hurt were you bracing your head?

^^Atem did you pay attention to what train you rode on all three times? Just curious...

Like I said before, I've ridden Scream a billion times and I rode Bizarro last year at SFGAdv and seriously, Bizarro was a heck of a lot better. Yeah sure it would be a more appreciated ride in a 'lesser park' but that wouldn't make it a better ride... IMO Scream is just one of those rides that isn't very good, theming or no theming.
