DoubleDown
I don't know why you'd be so concerned about losing the Flash-Pass. In case you didn't know, it comes connected to a strap with a carabiner that you just click on to one of your belt loops, and it won't go anywhere. I mean, unless you really really try to bust it off. Â I would also suggest purchasing the gold, and passing on the platinum. I used the gold on a pretty busy day last year, and it got us on everything without a hiccup.

I simply don't want to sit through the presentation, as I've used the Flash Pass many times before. I've been allowed to go straight to the rental room before, but was asked the lost/damage fee first. So, that's why I was asking. If I have to sit through the presentation, so be it. However, if I can manage to go straight to rental, all the better. Thanks for your input, everyone.
singemfrc
Last time I was there they just asked "Have you rented here before" and if I said yes I could go straight to the rental room. SFMM policies change like the weather though. Â Re: gold vs platinum - Platinum now includes YOLO, and Gold no longer includes Superman, so there's kind of a reason to get platinum now that wasn't there before. scooterdoug
Thanks everyone. I remember it being $250, then going down to $100. I just wanted to make sure it hasn't changed since then. Looks like it hasn't. I've been asked how much the fee is in a "What's the password" kind of way, I've also just gone straight in after telling them that I've rented before. Not sure what'll happen, but I want to get all my ducks in a row, just in case. As for gold vs. platinum, I'm thinking platinum. I just want to ride over and over...and having YOLO on there does sweeten the deal. And, considering I have a season pass, that's money I don't have to spend in the first place. Makes springing for the top-of-the-line pass a little easier. Thanks again for the help, everyone. I appreciate it. Can't wait to get back to the Mountain and ride the vast collection of big coasters!
rcdude
It was 100 back in November at least  Perhaps it's different at SFMM or has changed recently. I've never used the Flash Pass at SFMM, but I used it at SFGAm and SFGAdv last summer and it was $250 there. Since I believe it is Accesso that imposes the fee and not the park itself, I figured it was uniform across the chain, but I guess not.

Cj1990
I think I may have missed it if anyone posted, but have they hinted on when this thing might be opening? rcdude
^Nothing official has been announced, but most likely it will be sometime between Memorial Day and mid-June. If you will be visiting in mid-May, the ride will probably be testing, but don't expect it to be open. Â Before Twisted Colossus was announced, the Top Gun Stall was one element I was hoping would be on the ride but that I never expected would actually happen. In the announcement video, when the element first showed up, I couldn't believe it. Now that it's being built, this element looks like it will be amazing. Only RMC would attempt something like this, and I just hope SFMM and/or the GP don't end up ruining it.

WFChris
I think Full Throttle already does the job of making Revolutions OTSR's all the more WTF, but TC will certainly continue to help beg the question. Â I just realized that I went upside down on two different coasters in Mexico...one built last year and one in 1982, and neither had OTSRs. Yay! DoubleDown
Yeah, there probably are several other reasons, but really only 1 that glares why Revolution has OTSR's is because the trains original lapbars alone just aren't substantial enough considering the maneuvers of the ride. I think people when the ride was fairly new were messing around and weaseling their way out of the restraints, I believe I've seen pictures of this. And with the length of the circuit, it's completely possible. Think about it, a ride like Montezuma's stays in a generally straight line and happens so quickly, there was never really an issue. Â My guess is if we are to ever ride Revolution again without shoulder restraints, it will be with new trains that have updated lap bars like on Full Throttle and Twisted Colossus. And I don't see the park spending any money to do that anytime soon. Although that would be AMAZING especially if they let the ride run as fast as it did originally without all the absurd unnecessary trim and block brakes. Revolution really only needs 2 train operation, anyway. How much could 2 new trains cost? Â And as far as that even that was posted? It seems like a quick cash-grab by the park to title an event "Exclusive" when really it's just the park being open but getting admission tickets sold for another time of the day. Typical buffet food that really is nothing too special. Unless you haven't been to the park before or just want to go 1 time, I wouldn't really say it's worth it. Especially if as other people have said on here, it's generally packed.
WFChris
^Disagree with the substantial argument...Gold Rusher is equally as long and they don't have an issue with people escapting the FIXED restraints. Â This is one of the many revolving conversations that make this thread the beautiful thing that it is, but we were told at some point that a ride can not have existing restraints removed unless the train is completely replaced. Allegedly a California thing basically stating that once a restraint is installed it cannot be removed. It could be complete BS and just SFMM being lazy but it sounds pretty California to me. I'm sure Jew can shed some more light on that if he feels like it. Â At one point we were told that california required OTSRs on any ride that goes upside down, but any local knows 'but Montezoomas Revenge.' We've been told lots of things. I think ultimately they don't want to put money into it because from a GP stance, it's not really a marketable way to spend money. It would be fairly difficult to advertise 'Hey come ride Revolution with only lap bars!' The GP thinks that sounds sketchy and they already have their opinions of Revolution. Â at this points its more SFMM wont do it (cuz $$ and what would they really get out of it?) rather than cant do it. I like everyone else would welcome the return to lap bars. I would personally ride it regularily on my visits but the trends of myself and the enthusiest community dont neccessarily reflect that of the masses
cfc
It's a pity, as Revolution used to be a great ride--back when I was in high school. Now, not so much.
