powpig
Yup. I got to ride both Revolution & Colossus the first year they both opened. Revolution is a shadow of it's former glory. I was shocked when I rode it several years back after a long hiatus and it had those horrible OTSRs. Now I'm not sure what is worse, the OTSRs or how slow the ride is with all that braking. I can ride my bike faster than that ride goes these days. Last year at WCB I didn't even bother. Sad what SF has let happen to a historic and once great ride. rcdude
I think YOLOcoaster already does the job of making Revolutions OTSR's all the more WTF, but TC will certainly continue to help beg the question. I just realized that I went upside down on two different coasters in Mexico...one built last year and one in 1982, and neither had OTSRs. Yay! at this points its more SFMM wont do it (cuz $$ and what would they really get out of it?) rather than cant do it. I like everyone else would welcome the return to lap bars. I would personally ride it regularily on my visits but the trends of myself and the enthusiest community dont neccessarily reflect that of the masses I have heard rumors of SFMM refurbishing Revolution next year in honor of the ride's 40th anniversary, including replacing the current trains with new Gerstlauer trains similar to those used on Sooperdooperlooper. I really doubt it would happen because 1. New trains would probably be $100,000+ each and the park would likely need three, and 2. Gerstlauer and Six Flags probably don't have the best relationship currently due to the New Texas Giant accident. I do think there will be a point in the future where the park will have to replace the trains in order to keep the ride operational, and I do think they will look for trains without OSTRs, but knowing Six Flags and especially SFMM they probably won't spend money on something that can't really be marketed until they absolutely have to. It's sad that Revolution is in such bad shape as the ride is one of the more unique coasters at the park and, now that Colossus has been upgraded, is the park's least intense thrill coaster, making it a great attraction for younger visitors. Unfortunately, the current ride experience would be more likely to scare someone off roller coasters than show them how enjoyable the rides can be. coasterlvr
i really think those revolution restraints hurt more people than any safety they might do.
Derek_Zoolander
^100% agree. Similar to how the ridiculous complete stop on the MCBR of Goliath/Titan is far more likely to cause injury than a faster helix.
DaMarkSta
Yeah I only have ridden Revolution once and that's probably all I've ever ride it, unless those restraints change.

beenagins87
As much as I'm loving the blue and green track, I think visually my favorite thing about this is going to be the trains, those are just plain beautiful.
Fooz
I think the californians' prayers for airtime are being answered. This thing is somehow looking a lot better than the concept media. This one should be killer.

MagicMountainMan
This thing is looking like it's going to have quite a few head choppers. Some of those pictures look insane!
AllenA07
That thing is going to have some ejector airtime. I can't wait to hear what people think of it!
rcdude
Is California going to have a new best coaster? It certainly looks like it! If I only get to one new for 2015 coaster this year, I'm glad it's Twisted Colossus. Hopefully there's just two more months to go before we can ride this thing. 6flagsbrad
This is looking a little ahead into the future, but knowing the next new coaster will be the park's 20th, they'll have to go with something really really spectacular. I'm actually starting to think a new B&M giga like Leviathan and Fury would make a great addition to the park.

ZeroGravity55
Great view from behind the scenes! So are they using new wood for the entire ride or recycling? Oh, the humanity It's a mix of old and new, which is best showcased here. The airtime hill is the original structure being re-used, while the top gun stall is a completely new structure built on top of the old one. Now if you're still not sure if it's all old or new, let me just point out this picture in the report showcasing the old Colossus track left in place under the lift hill:
