Nrthwnd Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 ...But urban dictionary says "an expression frequently used by stoners and hippies for something of high quality" Happy 4/20. Sorry for the sidebar. Uh - what's a sidebar, man?
coasterbill Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 There's no such thing as a bad Log Flume. Flat log flumes are dank. Build it inside a mountain structure or on a real hillside, but not on flat ground. "dank" dank- adjective: wet and cold in a way that is unpleasant. If I'm going to be wet and cold on a log flume I'd rather it be fun. Flat ground is unpleasant. But urban dictionary says "an expression requently used by stoners and hippies for something of high quality" In that case all log flumes are dank.
LuminousAphid Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 I just realized that Enchanted Forest near Portland has what looks like an awesome log flume- can anyone confirm?
Paperface Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 Personally I'd be boring and say POTC - but if we're talking about the ride itself rather than the theming/setting then Blackpool's Valhalla wins by a mile on the days they can afford to turn all the effects on. Can't think of any other flumes where you go backwards through hoops of fire .

If you combine both of the definitions, I think it does almost cover all log flumes.
boldikus Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 #bump Its always fun to talk about flumes in the dead of winter. Also agreed on both definitions of "dank". Like... "yo basement is dank, homie". But it most definitely can be and is used to describe a particularly highly potent variety of the sweet sticky cheeba... uhhh... granny enjoys for treating her glaucoma.
gerstlaueringvar Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Splash Mountain. WDW/Tokyo versions are better engineered but DLR has the better soundtrack.
coasterbill Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 After finally getting down there this year I might have to give Morey's the edge. I've yet to ride Splash Mountain at DLR or Timber Mountain Log Ride though.
boldikus Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 I rode a couple new ones this year - Dorneys, Hersheys and Kings. Hard to say which I liked best out of those, probably Dorneys.
coasterbill Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 ^ He's just mad because we almost drowned on Shenandoah Lumber Company and it's coming through in his log flume ranking list. I swear it never does that... maybe they just heard you talking sh*t and saying things like this (Apollo at Dorney is behind Zoom Phloom, GTFO) and put a hole in the boat out of spite.
boldikus Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 There is no real order to the list, just as they came to me. My favorite flat would be IT - I'd sooner jump on that than a Screamin Swing. So stoked to finally have a Moreys SP, cant wait for endless rerides on IT this summer.
ytterbiumanalyst Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 I've yet to ride Splash Mountain at DLR or Timber Mountain Log Ride though.
Nrthwnd Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Knott's... and knothing else. West Coast Bash Day at Knott's. (o:
DoinItForTheFame Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Number 1: Followed closely by Number 2:
dannyboy13 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Splash Mountain DLR just barely edges out Timber Mountain Log Ride for me. Haven't been on any others worth mentioning, but I guess I'm lucky as I know these 2 are considered amongst the best in the world
wmay Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Splash Mountain at Tokyo or Timber Mountain Log Ride.
Mr Stratosphere Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 I miss Over the Edge that used to be at MGM Grand Adventures Theme Park here in Las Vegas, as well as Grand Canyon Rapids, I felt that those rapids were some of the best themed water attractions and that it was way ahead of its time!
TOPGUN1993 Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Wild West Falls at Warner Brothers Movie World Australia is fantastic! It even goes backwards.
thrillseeker4552 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I'm partial to Timber Mountain Log Ride, so that's my favorite. I've never really been on a "bad" flume though.
coasterbill Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I've never really been on a "bad" flume though. That's because there's no such thing.
Stonem Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 There' s no story. 1- CHIAPAS <3 2- Chiapas 3- Chiapas 4- Chiapas 5- Park warner's log flume. Still have to ride splash mountain (I will this summer) and dudley do-right's ripsaw falls
BenBlom Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 1. Chiapas in the Spring 2. Chiapas in the Winter (?!) 3. Chiapas in Fall 4. Chiapas in the Summer 5. Chiapas!
CSLKennyNI Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 1. Chiapas in the Spring2. Chiapas in the Winter (?!) 3. Chiapas in Fall 4. Chiapas in the Summer 5. Chiapas!
michaellynn4 Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 How would people feel about adding soap to a log flume? The ride ops at Six Flags Great Adventure used to do this at the end of the first couple of seasons. I'd ride it!
