RCFreak
This can only be a good thing for Toverland as it really was a great little park. I'd be excited to see if they did go all out theme wise for the rest of the outside park because after the quality of theming around Troy, their Booster Bike seemed pretty out of place to me. Hhappy
Quick translation: Toverland goes further with the myth of Troy Coastervision (another dutch website) was present at the press conference regarding this years addition to Toverland. Toverland wants to expand the area around Troy in the following years, so the myth around Troy is being expanded. This year there will be 2 additions, a 15 meter high swinging ship and a horsetrack for the little ones. The swingship has a very special tail... The Scorpion (Scorpios) brings you back to the authentic harbor around Troy. The new attractions will open beginning of july at Toverland. A fixed food and drinks point will be added in the same style as. Scorpios The special thing about this swing ship is the angle of decline. A normal ship goes to 60 degrees, this one has a minimum of 75, according to Caroline Maessen. During the press conference we were also given a small preview regarding the music around. As soon as you arrive you will get into the vibe of the area, but as soon as you board the ship.. it will change completely.. a storm is coming.. Facts: Height Scorpios: 15 meters Length Scorpios: 16 meters Speed: 42 km/hour Minimum height: 110cm Number of people: 42 guests per ride Capacity: 800 gasts/hour Cost of the entire area: €2.500.000,- Oddyseus: According to Caroline Maessen this was only the beginning of what was to come for next year. Guests will be able to pass along this attraction to the new Oddyseus. What this will be be has not been revealed just. Next year Toverland celebrates it's 10 years party and they want togo big for this. Construction for Oddysseus will start in September assuming funding will go as planned since this will be a 10 million euro. DBru
So...do they have plans to dig out the land under the Vekoma coaster and fill it in with water, or was it just drawn that way for the sake of making the concept art look better?
Ledgy
Did search for this movie file with google (there are some files on youtube, but they have a bad quality sometimes): www.rides.nl/nieuws/bericht/toverland-presenteert-nieuwe-attractie-scorpios/2210 (You will need a while to preload the file) Searched for "Toverland + Scorpios
Murfie
So...do they have plans to dig out the land under the Vekoma coaster and fill it in with water, or was it just drawn that way for the sake of making the concept art look better? I dont think its all water, the water around scorpios is darker and actually has a water texture, the blue under boosterbike and under troy is lighter and no texture, so I'm guessing its just to make it look better ^^ btw, i don't want to get ahead of myself here, but in the video you can see that booster bike has some theming with a colosseumlike structure at one end. I really hope they will (re)theme boosterbike, because it really doesnt fit in with the rest of the outdoor area, especially with the new attractions. Although i don't know how they would make the bikes work in this theming..

Ledgy
^ I agree, Chariots or horses fit in, motorcycles would look so out of place in the Troy theming and I hope they will take this collosseum look. I´m a little bit confused by the movie. Is it a level curve or do I get to see a track towards scorpio? It seems to me, that there are rails around two isles and over suspension bridges? You can see that this area is seperated from the walkway, too. Would that be the "horse track" mentioned above? I can´t imagine what a horse track attraction should be? It´s a stupid question, but they won´t use real horses, do they? In my opinion this could reduce their image and it looks like there are rails. exmouse
I'm sure this is the horse track ride they would mean http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=56&linkid=8435
tiger01
Great, now Toverland will be more awesome than it was last year!!!! If Toverland keep up with this they will be as big as Thorpe Park. All they need is a massive B and M hyper that Thorpe Park dosn't have and they will get loads of money. Maybe they could make a resort and add a waterpark to accomidate the people cause normal people wouldn't just go to the netherlands just to visit the park. They need other stuff. Maybe they could add a golf course and maybe add another park so it would be like UNiversal Orlando. That would be awesome and i would be there the day it opens!!! But that probably won't happen
themeparkologist
Sorry to RCTFreak...that wasn't what I meant. I meant were they re-theming Booster Bike to O-something. Never mind.
maverickpoint
loved the colleseum around the booster bike, im sure with some fun and exciting theming, this neat little park can really pull this off!!! anyone have any info on the coaster for next year?? been hearing a lot of rumors of an inverted, or gerstlauer. either or and they can't fail! Ledgy
I really hope they won´t build a Supersplash in 2011. It would fit in the theming, but I don´t like these rides. In my opinion, they are boring; they only go once up and down and that is all. Like Elissa mentioned before... AQUATRAX That would be great. We will see... Airtime&Gravity
Wow, I'm impressed with the level of theming that has been added. It's not often you see a swinging ship as well themed as this one, and I'm pleased to see that the theming in the rendering was what was actually built. It seems all to often that the renderings look better than the actual ride, so it's nice to see Toverland build the ride that was shown. Also, while fairly impressive, I can't imagine that the theming cost that much. Why can't American parks put a little more effort into making their rides look like this?
PhantomNick
I have to agree, the theming on this swinging ship looks amazing! Overall, Toverland looks like a pretty sweet park that I would love to check out someday. Just in general, the European parks really seem to have a knack for delivering such a well-rounded experience with their rides, often thanks to some incredible theming. I often wonder myself as well why more American parks don't do this. Even when rides are announced with a good amount of theme added, it seems like that's the first thing to get cut in a time/money crunch. Remember the first renderings of Maverick? There were more canyons and an awesome looking coal "chute" that never made it to reality.

Trumple
^ Is that like the new filet o' fish? Haha! Naaah, almost the same but not quite. You can actually take a ride on a Mack Super Splash but if you would take a ride on a Mac Filet 'o Fish, well... It would just be nasty.
