  1. could you imagine if we get a dark ride and a roller coaster in phase 2? perhaps an indoor? oh man, im so excited for media day lol
  2. I'm wondering when media day will be if the park opens sometime next month. Hopefully these unfortunate circumstances do not affect ANY of the proposed plans for the park and the 'biggest investment plan in history'
  3. I wonder if all this going on is going to affect the (unannounced) proposed plans for the future of the park.
  4. happy to hear that she is donating this much money to beat the virus.
  5. i'd prefer a terrain dive coaster in that plot of land. there are at least half a dozen of those rides in the area.
  6. there are close to a hundred cases of covid-19 in tennessee last time i checked. don't know much how this works but disneyworld is preparing to be closed for more than 2 weeks so plan on dollywood not opening for awhile.
  7. LOL if i remember correctly, there was a livestream of the 2013 announcement of firechaser and dreammore for the 300 mil plan. but i do not remember where i watched it. i woke up early to watch it lol if it's not live, im sure someone will record and post somewhere on youtube. appreciate it coasterbill
  8. where will we be able to watch the announcement this friday live?
  9. same. was planning a 2021 trip but with all the news on screamscape and youtube, i might just wait until 2023!
  10. i just watched a video from last year discussing the 300 mil investment and they confirmed that wildwood grove wrapped up that money a few years early. so now they have another investment which will be announced march 13th as we know. Pete also said 2021 is another expansion project but gave no details other than it will have a thrill ride. thanks Pete!
  11. whatever they do in the next however many years the new plan is.. just please don't get rid of tennessee tornado EVER.
  12. a dark ride will be nice. hopefully they also put in an indoor coaster. as far as the 300 million dollar 10-year plan starting in 2013, they still have like 50 million so im curious what the 'new' plan is going to be
  13. If you like history of cities, the sunsphere would be a fun thing to check out. Gay St is the main strip downtown. Lots of food on Cumberland. Almost everyone wears orange and white on Saturdays in support of the vols. I havent been to the area in about 3 years so im sure the construction on cumberland is finished by now. one would hope. hope you have a fun time! I used to woork at the holiday inn and had my cigarette breaks right next to the sunsphere, its pretty cool.
  14. what would really blow me away is something similar to indiana jones at disneyland. only like you describe.. revolving around moonshine or something. there is also a dark ride at busch gardens williamsburg i went on in 2004 and that was just super cool. the possiblities are endless when it comes to a cool dark ride. but i still hope for a new indoor coaster. maybe something like snow white mine train at disney world. a hyper i feel is needed in the park but who knows, surely they have something cookin' up for all this hush hush lol hopefully there is an announcement before this summer.
  15. i would like to see a dark ride in its spot to be honest. and an indoor coaster & hyper in back of wildwood grove. that is probably 4 or 5 years of new rides though but idk, pete owens im sure will talk soon about something new. im not a fan of time traveler so i hope that style of ride does not make it to dollywood. but im only one person and my opinion is beat by thousands of ppl who would probably want that there. meh. dollywood is without a doubt my favorite theme park in the world and whatever happens, the wait will surely be worth it.
  16. I haven't been to East Tennessee for 4 years and I am kinda sorta planning my next trip. I'm thinking 2021. Does anyone know when the next additions will be? I remember the survey about 6-8 months ago of the new ride. Does 2021 seem like the year that they will add that new attraction? What about 2022? I haven't followed this park in a very long time and am not up to date on anything besides the survey and closure of mountain slidewinder. Any info would be great. Whether we decide to go in 2021 or probably better 2022, we will avoid the summer crowds and probably end up going in a late Sept, early October.
  17. an aquatrax would be incredible though I doubt it. since sideshow spin is gone, it would make sense to close ride/rides in that area. but then again, 2019 I read someone post that there will be a brand new themed area? with nearly 5 years of this ten year expansion plan gone, it does make sense not too much happen for 2018 but they won't just put in nothing. surely we will see something going up and more going down apparently.
  18. i would like mountain slidewinder to close. the terrain could be really good for a new coaster in 2019 especially if they redo the mountain side just a tad, something amazing could fit there. friday can't come soon enough!!!!!!!!!!
  19. any ideas circling the park or internet for what's to come in 2018? i reckon we will get some information soon.
  20. this will be so cool. such a neat addition. hoping for a new roller coaster for 2018!!
  21. that's one way to put some light onto this devastating event. worst fire in gatlinburg history :/ guess an entire school burnt down, the steakhouse is gone, bed and breakfast is gone, an entire hotel completely destroyed, same with many homes. I would post links to the articles but in a class right now. sad day for sure. thank goodness it was not worse.
