vjgx
I haven't been on very many slides, but I'd have to say my favorite is Niagara Rapids Run at Great Wolf Lodge in Ontario, Canada... I was there last week and rode it 7 times. It's what they call a water-roller-coaster, and it has some decent bursts of airtime and speed. Most of the airtime and speed is from high-speed conveyor belts... and it's a lot of fun.
okinawaboy11
Hmm Everyone talks about these slides with water dropping in halfway. I've never seen these. Someone please show a pic. Thanks.
woah_killa
Libertyland had this really awesome fiberglass sled where you went down a slide and skid across the water, sort of like that slide on the previous page. Except you didn't get wet, my aunt went up the incline coming out of the water and almost ran into the fence.
SharkTums
^^http://www.schlitterbahn.com/nb/attractions-doubleloopslide.asp It's not a great picture. But basically, picture normal body flumes that have a big water tank up top. Once you're about 20 feet down the slide they let the tank empty which sends a gush of water towards you and speeds you down the rest of the slide! odene497
At Noah's Ark in wisconsin dells, there are these two blue slides (The Plunge) that you go down headfirst on a mat. At the top of the main, big portion of the hill, you lift the map up hard, and it offers some amazing airtime as you fly down and land about halfway to the bottom. They also have the Black Anaconda, The worlds longest watercoaster. The only thing is, it uses high speed conveyours instead of water jets, unfortunately, they're not fast enough, so everytime you hit one, you get thrown forward. It's still fun though. Noahs Ark has tons of rides to pick from, as it is the biggest waterpark in the country.
Crazy4Coasters!
I HAVE TO GO WITH SUMMIT PLUMMET AT WDW Resort! At 120ft its americas tallest water slide. The drop is AMAZING!!! Copy and paste the link to go check it out! http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/parks/attractionDetail?id=BBSummitPlummetAttPage
benzo41190
"The Plunge" is a cool ride, but there are 2 types of mats. There are flat bottom mats, and ripply bottom mats. From what I have experienced, the ripply bottom mats go faster. Plus the airtime is amazing
noyzz
What about Blizzard Beach and Summit Plummet? This slide is awsome!!! I counted from the time i dropped till I stopped was 10seconds!!!!! what a rush!

Golfie
That slide looks crazy! I remember driving past that waterpark when we were at Disney World. I'd love to go back and visit Blizzard Beach. I must say, you have to visit the Kalahari. They have a HUGE variety of slides. They have: Master Blaster (a water coaster with JETS) A Raft Ride One of those circle raft rides A body slide A tube slide A body bowl 2 kiddie slides And they also have an outdoor one which we didn't get to (since it was the middle of December) I want to go up to the Dells very badly this summer... hopefully that'll happen. cannonballer
Dollywoods Splash country has a group of smaller waterslides that look pretty tame that is until you realise you go down them on mats, HEAD FIRST! they are pretty fast too! just dont let your feet drag behind you becayse the grooves can scarpe your feet!!! I think they are called mountain twist!
Nitro1118
Just so you guys know, Mountain Creek still has MANY of those amazing slides and cliff dives from the Action Park days. A few were taken out, but the park is a lot nicer now and still has some amazing slides. As for my pick, the best waterslide I have been on is....probably Ser Duka, the normal speed slide next to Bomb Bay. When I went to WnW in 2000, I didn't have the nerve to Bomb Bay, and in 2004 when i went Bomb Bay wasn't open and was ahving maintence done. the sound
Mountain Creek Water Park, Vernon, New Jersey Oh please. If that's real I'm a monkey. No way is that a real, working, water-running water slide. It is mate. Saw it in a book.
VsEuro
There sure are a lot of great slides in this topic. In belgium we don't have a lot of good waterparks, in fact we have a few smaller parks with mostly boring rides. But there is one slide i really love overhere, it's in Hengelhoef and is called "razende rivier". Traslated this means: very wid river. And that's exactly what it is. It doesn't matter how good you can swim under the age of 12 you are never allowed for safety reasons (as it should be cause it is dangerous at some places if you are small and not strong enough)! A few pictures to show what it is: I don't know if there are many of these on the world. I know only on good river like this and it is in hengelhoef. An easy part of the "razende rivier" is on the left of this picture: An easy part at the beginning of the "razende rivier": Don't be fouled, it get's better a bit further: A bit better overview of the first part in the picture: And another picture of the first part. You can clearly see how the slide gets more narrow and receives more speed in this picture: There is quite a strong flow overhere, it's almost impossible to stand up overhere: You can clearly see the current of the slide overhere: A nice example of a nice drop in the ride. Because of the narrowing of the slide (river) the speed of the water get's very high. You often go underwater for several meters after this drop because of the strong current. You never now where you will end up after this part. Lucky there is always a lifeguard watching over cause otherwise accidents would be occuring ! There is also a nice outside part, that has some decent speed in it: Also outside, the river goes in a small lake it's a bit easyer to stand up overthere but the current can easily take you in a circle to a place you don't want to be. There is a resting place overthere if you are to tired. Some more outide fun: It goes back inside under a few slides for some more crazy parts: Sometimes it has a very nice flow: And at other moments it becomes very crazy and wild: The length of the slide is quite perfect. Any longer would make most people to tired. And it's not to short to have several drops and very good turns. Plus the combination of outside and inside parts adds fun to the experience. And the combination of resting places and very high speed parts of the slide adds a lot fun to the experience for everybody. pvcoasterguy
^ Wow, that looks really cool. Kind of like a new version of the tube chute, but without the tubes. Summit Plummet, Slush Gusher, and Downhill Double Dipper were all insane at Blizzard Beach. The Master Blaster at the Kalahari (Wis. Dells) has some great airtime on the hills, and is pretty crazy when you get towards the weight limit. I also like any of the older-style body slides that they now make you wrap yourself up in a mat on now. Whoever designed those was crazy. Noah's Ark has some of them, as does my hometown. They are crazy fast, and have some great, crazy features. One by my house has a crazy fast helix of doom, and the other has a big, crazy s-bend drop followed by a really high banked turn. You go so fast on them, it is crazy. Unfortunately, most of the plain-jane body slides today are pretty dull these days (there are some exceptions). Houston Thrills
I'm rather fond of some of the slides/chutes at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels. The following picture is of what is the scariest part of any water ride I've ever been on. It doesn't look like much, but if you've been on it, you know exactly why this is so scary. I'm pretty sure the guy going down backwards is about to slam his head on that bridge.

kcgreg
Who has the best action river? I know Schlitterbahn has some cool one's. I'm not talking about the boring lazy rivers. I like the ones with drops, curves, and rapids. Where they at?
okinawaboy11
Cedar Point's Adventure River was really really fun! It had waves, speed, and rapids.
jamesdillaman
^ Cedar Point's doesn't have drops, though. I like the 3 at the Beach Waterpark near Cinccinnati. Not the best I've been on, but I think the only "River Rapids" tube rides I've been on, really. -James Dillaman
Reon
Oh yes, the Beach. Home of the world's first TRUE water coaster. No conveyers or jets on Aztec Adventure. I'd go back sometime, if I wasn't always so busy at work... Oh well, next week is my annual Dells trip, and you know what that means!

I like the ones with drops, curves, and rapids. Where they at? The rapids ride at Center Parcs Sherwood Forest is really cool. It has a few fun drops and curves and there are TONS of people going down at the same time so you get bashed around a lot.
