horootle Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 According to Amusement Today, Consign did outlaw run's computer control: http://www.amusementtoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/at_april_all.pdf (page 4)
KingRCT3 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Yeah, IOE was formed in 2012, so that's not surprising. Now they are in charge of all the RMC (so they're working on Lightning Rod), expect those at the Six Flags parks that are wired in-house.
BlahBlahson Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 The stars are aligning that I should be in Gatlinburg on March 19-20th. My best bet to do this right is to join the Florida Coaster club or Coaster Crew and do their opening day event right? They have night ERT on Lightning Rod...which with Dollywood's opening history leads me to believe the coaster will in fact be given every opportunity to be open...

I am planning to be at the park opening weekend as well. Is the park doing a Passholder Preview Day that Friday? I am pretty sure I read that somewhere and that would mean Lightning Rod would open on Friday to passholders only... If not, I am considering joining Coaster Crew as well because free food and ERT are both great things.
Guy T. Koepp Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 ^Barely 2 pages ago some very attractive, sexy! Club TPR Member posted this. I can not remember the last time Dollywood opened for the season without their new attraction operating. So, if that is any indication, I would expect it to be open. Also, as I mentioned earlier, I got an email over a week ago for passholder preview day on the 18th. It exclusively mentioned, "Be the first to ride Lightening Rod!" prominently on the email header. With 7 1/2 weeks left, I think they are in a good place to have it open on time for the season. Almost everything left to do is at ground level or easily accessed by service roads. And it's not like LIM's are new coaster technology anymore. They have become very reliable. I am not concerned at this point. I have no idea who he is, but I can tell he is attractive and sexy! Probably smart, funny, charming, and good to tha Ladies as well.
SFOG1991 Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 ^That's where I saw it I guess! I checked Dollywood's website and social media for nothing. I need to see if I have that email.
jarmor Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) Well look at this . . . Edited January 30, 2016 by jarmor
DoinItForTheFame Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I was slightly afraid of how the headrest would look. But... they look just fine! The trains look great so far!! Can't wait to see the front of them!!
chickenbowl Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 The trains are beautiful. I look forward to seeing the lead axle car uncovered soon! I'm glad they have a train there already - hopefully they are working on the LSMs/brakes/programming while completing the track work so they can test/open everything on time. I can't wait to see more track progress (aka- the quadruple down) Edit: quick picture from RMCs Instagram
coasterlvr Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 awesome color combination to accent the candy red(?) and flames. hope the headrests and all the padding keeps their color, unlike other RMC trains.

TyRush Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Holy mother of pearl. Those are quite beautiful, let the complaints begin on the head rests though!
KBrylczyk Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Candy Apple Red never ceases to looks astounding.
chickenbowl Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Holy mother of pearl. Those are quite beautiful, let the complaints begin on the head rests though! This being a launched coaster, they're completely necessary. I think they look pretty non-intrusive also, not obstructing much view. I can't see what there is to complain about. I mean, they could've looked like this:
Djwadeknox Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Looks like track is done and testing around Valentines!
Djwadeknox Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Looks like track is done and testing around Valentines!
RyanTPM Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Oh wow, those could possibly be the best trains i've ever seen!
A.J. Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Sorry, Dollywood and Rocky Mountain. Not good enough.
DJeXeL Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I'll echo what everyone else has said: Damn those are pretty.
jarmor Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Who said the track was complete???? If it is, it must be a shuttle coaster!
DJeXeL Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 ^lol! I was wondering how the hell they completed the track so fast?!?
