Can't wait to hear from Alan and see more renderings from the T-Rex concept. Lightning Rod looks great like expected.

The Wood N Slide art from Polin looks cool too. Is that made of real wood, or is it painted like that on the fiberglass?

Posted (edited)

I see that Robb's at the RMC booth based on the latest Twitter update.

Those who are there to hear what the guys at RMC are saying about it: What are the advantages that the T-Rex track has compared to other steel coasters (other than aesthetics)?

PS: Does anyone else think that GG should make a battlebot of that saw blade train and enter it into the next competition?

Basically less fasteners, connections, and supports are needed compared to other steel coasters. It is sort of like the advantages of Intamin's double spine track.

^I immediately thought of easier construction (my first thought was at minimizing welds) which is certainly a big enough advantage, but I was wondering if there was anything less obvious. I'm surprised that it holds up so well for minimizing footers, because I'd assume that a greater track height to width ratio would be best to increase its moment of inertia. The inside of the box is probably a lot beefier than what I'm expecting.

Looks like a beyond vertical drop.

And a weird zero g/wave turn hybrid element. As well as other craziness.

That turn where the pink train is in makes me wonder what els goes into the minds of the RMC crew, They continue to amaze me.

They continue to amaze me as well, but because they keep on converting all my ideas into reality. And this one is no exception.

But S&S is also participating to the effort, as well as Maurer AG. I hadn't have the time to make a drawing for a winged moto-coaster train that, TADAA, it's alive (Here is a message (in french) of me mentionning the idea for the skeptics that you are).
