Jew Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Definitely an upgrade if this is accurate. Looks like a fun little ride.
rctneil Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Nice to see Adventure City getting something totally unique to the area. It seems like Gerstlauer's take on the Junior Boomerang. I hope it does well for them and it seems like it will provide a nice step up from Adventure City's kiddie coaster and a nice step down from slightly "bigger" rides at other local parks.
cfc Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 ^Agreed. It's good that the park isn't replacing it's old mouse with yet another mouse, if this report proves to be correct. Why not go with a ride that the other local parks lack?
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Drove by the park today. There is nothing left of the old coaster and the ground is all tore up so I'd guess all the old footers are gone as well. I didn't see any signage saying that anything is replacing it yet, hopefully we'll hear something soon
Nrthwnd Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 At my age, I am soooo happy that something like this is being built. Â If it happens. Â Woo hoo New Credit, whatever it becomes!
robbalvey Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) Looks like we have an official announcement!  Adventure City Announces New "Rewind Racers" Roller Coaster  Orange County¹s Little Theme Park Celebrates 20 Years of Family Fun  Anaheim, Calif. (Feb. 24, 2014)  Adventure City is proud to kick off the construction of its newest roller coaster "Rewind Racers," expected to open this summer. At a cost of over 2 million dollars, this coaster will be Adventure City¹s largest single investment to date in its 20 year history.  Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GMBH, a well-known German ride manufacturer has been tasked with building ³Rewind Racers², the first family shuttle coaster in North America. The coaster will move both forward and backwards and will accommodate riders of all ages. With a mere 39² height requirement, the coaster¹s unique design comfortably seats both small children and adult passengers, allowing the whole family to join in on the fun. KBrylczyk Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 That looks like a lot of fun! I'll definitely make the trip to Adventure City once it opens!
rctneil Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Looks like a really great addition for Adventure City. Great choice as it's totally unique for the area and it should entice people in as it's going to spotted by many people as they drive past too.
cfc Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 It's good to see a small park trying something new. Looks like a nice ride.
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) Awesome! I can't wait to ride this! It will be cool to see how this fits in., Looks like the track could go over some existing things in the back corner like the train tracks, Crank 'n' Roll. Major Minus Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 It looks quite similar to Vekoma's Ben 10 at Drayton Manor.
Jew Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Looks like it will be a lot of fun! Â The themeing for the ride is being done by R&R, which is the company that did SFMM's themeing back when SFMM actually tried to theme their rides (B:TR, RRv, S:TE, etc.)
_koppen Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Awesome, these are perfect rides for the entire family! Â Looks like they took the concept art straight from Vekomas catalog
Top Thrill Dragster Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Looks like the exact same layout as Gipfel-Stürmer.     Looks like a fun family coaster. It will definitely get me back to the park for the credit.    Nice to see this park add a family coaster that is unique to the area instead of an off the shelf ride that can be found at almost every park in SoCal.
SharkTums Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 ^My thoughts exactly! Big props to a small family park thinking outside the box and getting something very unique and different!
fatdaddy Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 So glad that they didn't build condos on this property. Looks like an excuse for my kids to have another birthday party there.
rcjp Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 That looks like a fun little coaster. There have been quite a few nice family coasters built lately and this one seems no exception.
Gnome Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Really impressive actually! It will be a fun ride to see along Beach Blvd.
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 This will definitely be more eye catching then the coaster that was there before!
cal1br3tto Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Sweet! The theming as depicted looks pretty fun. Great they they could work out such a low height requirement for a bigger ride. I loved the charm of Tree Top Racers, but from what I've read, this new coaster will be a better fit.
RyanTPM Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 From the concept art it looks exactly like a Vekoma Junior Boomerang, guessing that was just for the concept art since its from gerstlauer?
thesman Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) Is it me, or does that look like a Vekoma Family Coaster? Â Â Edited February 25, 2014 by robbalvey
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 It does look exactly the same, lol. Hmm. I mean, they could just be copying it, lol.
XII Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 This is great and much better than what I was expecting to replace Treetop Racers. Looking foreword to riding this thing and seeing something new in Southern California.
A.J. Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) Looks like the exact same layout as Gipfel-Stürmer. Not the exact same, but definitely similar, if the concept art is true. Edited February 24, 2014 by A.J.
