Mrlittle
Attention to Detail. That is what I see most in Tokyo Disney. I really want to go there now. Its almost like Disney decided, lets just try crazy things for ride designs and see if they work here. I mean the rides look amazing. Great update again. derek_lentz
Wow these parks look amazing. Though it will probably be a long time (if ever) before I get a chance to visit Tokyo Disney, it makes me want to book a trip to Disney World right now. Evanaj15
I was totally horrified by the long lines for Thunder Mountain, but i really am curious about Snow White's Adventures. To be honest, i think that it's kind of ironic that even though it has a generic name, it's still scarier than the original. (Which has the word "scary" in the title. 805Andrew
Awww the Japan TR comes to an end. Great job guys. How much should I save up for the next Japan trip? Tokyo Disneyland does look like a greatest hits park, the only thing they're missing is a Matterhorn type ride. I would also say Indiana Jones but Tokyo Disney Sea has that so never mind. Again thanks for all the pics and details

Hobbesx2
Great report! So many awesome pics. Â I'll probably be going to Japan early-mid April next year and am thinking about hitting up Disney, so I've got a few questions. How does this park (specifically the disneyland park) stack up with the magic kingdom? My family seems a little hesitant, especially after so many great trips to Orlando, they're just not sure that the Japan one won't be a letdown. And on that matter, what are the levels of English like at the park? I see that most signs are also in English, but on dark rides and the like, is it mostly Japanese? (and does that affect the rides fun-ness?) Finally, what sort of crowds might I expect in April? Also related, how many days do you think I should spend at the two parks in order to really take in everything? (I'm not really a show guy, but all of the relevant rides I guess) Â So yah, thanks! SixFlagsBoy
I loved the videos you made Rob from the Japan trip. I laughed on the Big Bang coaster when you said "When did they put the loop in". You did a great job show us how much fun you guys had in Japan. I can't wait for the next trip updates. I love watching your coaster videos. Rob you do the BEST POV'S! Mosaic513
Great reports as always Robb. It is fun to live vicariously through them. Tokyo Disney Resorts and their parks look awesome. Â Hey Mosaic513... You just won a Big Bag of Crap from Theme Park Review! Whatcha gonna do now!? I'm freekin' going to Tokyo Disneyland! Hilton Tokyo Bay is officially booked for May 2012! A.J.
Two things - Â First, I really like how the vending machines are themed. I wish our parks would do that, but all I've seen are just generic vending machines covered with boxes. Â Second, it's rather strange to me that the lap bars on TDL's Splash Mountain are different from MK's. At least you are still able to squeeze three small-ish people in a row on MK's. That's always fun.

BeemerBoy
This picture is awesome for several reasons: Â A) Elissa and KT. Â B) Fast Passes. Â C) I'm almost certain Robb purposely framed those Japanese schoolgirls in the shot.
kasseroo
Cinderella's Fairy Tale Hall looks amazing! The dioramas astounded me, even if Derek kept spoiling them! I'm just sad that The Horned King is no more! Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour was the only attraction (that I know of) that featured a character from the Black Cauldron! Â Was it weird to actually see the Haunted Mansion without the Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare overlay? Â I love that Snow White's Adventures is terrifying; as it's supposed to be! Although, going into the cottage in the middle, kind of killed the continuity of the story and the mood of the ride! Â Thanks yet again for an extraordinarily amazing update! I'm glad that you have a great time, and will be forever grateful that you shared it with us!
Nozzy
A very nice conclusion. Is the Stitch Tiki Room better than the Iago and Zazu one? Â I don't think I could ever see enough pictures of these parks! Thanks for such an intensive review of the parks, and all the Japanese parks! BigDipper 80
Brilliant update, as always! As a bit of a Haunted Mansion nerd, I remember reading somewhere that Tokyo's Mansion still has a "purple shroud ghost" in the seance room even though MK pulled theirs years ago. The mix of retro Disney and modern awesomeness at this park is incredible. Love it.

RoCo
Awesome, awesome wrap-up. Laughed out loud several times, especially at the last family photo.  I'm embarrassed to admit that I gasped alittle at that photo of the Mickey waffles. That is some fine food porn right there.  Also, this: "Our visit fell during "Tanabata", which is a Japanese tradition that tells the story of these 'star crossed lovers separated by the Milky Way" or something like that. In the Disney version, Mickey & Minnie play the lovers, and you can send them a greeting." That is full of curry-flavored win for me. For the last time, Japan, I <3 YOU SO MUCH!!11!!!1  (And thanks again for the Bag-O-Crap®! )
robbalvey
Great report! So many awesome pics. I'll probably be going to Japan early-mid April next year and am thinking about hitting up Disney, so I've got a few questions. How does this park (specifically the disneyland park) stack up with the magic kingdom? Did you READ the update?!?!?!? "Best dark ride in the world", "Unique attractions not found at other Disney parks", "Greatest hits of all the Magic Kingdoms", "Food Porn", "Always going to Endor", etc, etc, etc....  Seriously, if you read the update - that question would already be answered for you!  Also related, how many days do you think I should spend at the two parks in order to really take in everything? (I'm not really a show guy, but all of the relevant rides I guess)  No fewer than four days. Seriously. Edited July 18, 2011 by robbalvey
robbalvey
Was it weird to actually see the Haunted Mansion without the Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare overlay? YES! LOL! Funny you mentioned that - there was this little moment where I hadn't actually thought about it, and then we just headed over to Mansion as we naturally would throughout the day, and I looked up and it and was like "something is wrong..." and then I was like "Oh! I've actually never been here when it's normal mansion!!!" Like to me, Tokyo's Mansion was just "Nightmare Mansion", which to be honest, I wish it would be! I like that version of Mansion so much better!

Larry's new avatar is even more terrifying than Tom Selleck! I'm going to Guest Relations to complain immediately!  I remember that the old DL version of Snow White had this cool "dancing skeleton." Too bad they removed it. Tokyo's version is creepier (which is a plus). coaster-mm
Thanks for an amazing update Rob, i loved it!  Really thinking about going to Tokyo next year for 2 reasons: the city itself and Disney.......  Thanks again!  Paul
