ParkTrips
Proof yet again that the christian groups of kids are the worst-behaved at the park.

Yeti762
Warning signs are there for a reason. I actually reported someone for breaking through a fence at El Toro SFNJ earlier this month. I was walking around shooting video/pictures and saw 2 girls breaking off pieces of a fence and crawl through it (this was by the lift hill). I passed a park employee on my way over to the ride entrance, where there was usually a security guard. The employee said they saw the girls breaking through the fence and had already radioed security. The park employee passed by me a few minutes later after security arrived and said "yep, we got them". They were inside the ride area, probably trying to retrieve something they lost. Whatever you lost, isn't worth losing your life
tnguy
Unlike the SFKK incident last season this one cannot be blamed on the park. People will always find a way to place blame on the park. I don't know how but someone will find a way.
RIP Psyclone
Well, now that his age has been released and he was 17, that rules out the ignorance factor. I would certainly hope, at the age of 17, one would understand the meaning of the word "DANGER" I'm sorry for his friends and family, and the employees of the park that have to deal with this Nope. If there is a lawsuit I hope it crashes and burns. I think Six Flags would be able to defeat it, but it would costs them millions anyway.
Hikaru-chan
If they try are they going to blame them because the signs weren't big enough or the fences not being eletric.

swampfox
^^^ No, if they are sued, they will probably settle, not win. That's what usually happens when someone sues a park, I think. Shouldn't be that way in this case, but if there is a lawsuit, it'll probably go that way.
Vekoma Fan Boy
I have no sympathy for this kid. His family, yes, but not this dumbass. He was going to climb over two 6 foot tall fences, and try to grab someone's legs which are dangling from a multi ton train going around 35mph? Sorry, he's out of the gene pool, and no one has to deal with his offspring. I know I sound like a royal d!ck here, but that was just stupid. Calaway Park
I feel bad for the people that had to see a kid get decapitated! And his family of course. People can be so thick sometimes! -Sean
swampfox
Ya know, it's at these times that I really hate the news media. Most people only read headlines. The headlines all read something along the lines of "Teen boy decapitated by Georgia Coaster". What will most people think? "Oh my god! That ride should be closed if it kills people." Why? Just like the teenager, most people are too stupid to actually read a whole story. My opinion of course, but I don't have much faith in humanity. Robbie
Most people think they are all death machines or something anyway, I remember these one people wouldnt go on Dominator when it was a Geauga lake because they heard once the power went off in the loop and everyone fell to their deaths. Interesting how the power going off stopped physics.

That's what happened. What should the headlines say? "Boy killed someplace, but it wasn't that place's fault." Get real. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has updated the story with a lot more details. It says the boy was with a friend, and they left the park to get lunch. When they came back, they didn't come back in the entrance when they got back. They hopped a fence surrounding the park, then hopped the fence surrounding Batman. Two bad moves. BeemerBoy
Well, now that his age has been released and he was 17, that rules out the ignorance factor. There's an age at which people cease being ignorant?
Corkscrew
This is quite sad, especially for the kid's family and friends. It's even sadder because it was due to the stupidy and ignorance of the group of kids and therefore was preventable. I guess we'll just have to wait for the lawsuit now from the boy's family. Jcoaster
It's sad to see. But it was his fault. he basically brought it upon himself.
jarmor
oh well. I find it more strange that cnn.com totally forgot about the boy and went into the situation of the girl getting her legs amputated at SFKKand they say it happen in JUNE!! Im like what does that have to do with this situation and that was sooo last year!

Goliath513
I feel more sorry for the park for what they will have to deal with (lawsuits, paperwork, etc) than the kid and his family. It's morons like this who kill parks. Sure, its sad for the family, but at least now the guy is out of the gene pool, and one less moron in the world. For the park, this is Great America all over again with what happened on Top Gun 10 years ago. What's next? 10ft high electric fences with moats and bricks?? I smell a lawsuit brewing which will result in Six Flags paying out millions to the family of the idiot. Once again, Six Flags will pay the price for the dumb actions of others. Remember the outcome of that Waterworld USA accident 10 years ago? Only in America...
cedarpointfangirl
I'm actually really surprised no one on the train was hurt. I remember when the maintenance worker was hit, the leg of the rider who hit him was broken. I have no pity for the boy, for his family yes. I really wouldn't be surpised that in the "Sue Happy" world we live in, the family finds some way to sue the park, time will tell!!
DBru
And you all made fun of SFKK for putting barbed wire around their fences, heh? Anyway, I do feel sorry for everyone involved. But on the other hand, I'm VERY thankful that this was caused by a guest's stupidity, and not the park's fault. Six Flags doesn't need any more negative media; they have just started to turn the chain around! I just can't imagine how others felt when they saw their friend's head fly off.... EDIT: Oh, and I'm sure that the family will get something out of this. If a kid at our school can get $120,000 for getting expelled after bringing beer to a dance, there's no doubt a death will bring these people millions...
