Rider117 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 It was confirmed at Eastcoaster that Chiller's roll's will be removed for a "hump".
SharkTums Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 ^LAME!!!! Let the new credit debate begin!!!
FLIPDUDE Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Whatwhatwhatwhat?!?! removed for a lame little hill?! The roll is the most fun part! What the hell are they thinking?
DerekRx Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 ^^Please, like the ride will actually ever be opened! Another 3 years they'll probably remove the whole thing and throw in one of them spinning family coasters.
christianscoasters Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Well, at least it will have some airtime .
CycloneMan Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 It was confirmed at Eastcoaster that Chiller's roll's will be removed for a "hump". Chuck, you were there? I didn't even see you! -Dainan "Two new credits!" Rafferty
Tanks4me05 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Well, there is only one thing I can say: You have got to be kidding me. Shaprio and gang should definitely have a better reason than "it's not family friendly".
Homer Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 It was confirmed at Eastcoaster that Chiller's roll's will be removed for a "hump". Wow... this sucks, REALLY sucks... And there is no real reason for its removal, is there?
IwantRevenge Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Well, at least it will have some airtime . Haha agreed i'm actually happy to see those things gone, going backwards on robin was the most insane experience of my life, It hurt my neck even, that why I only rode it twice. I'd rather have good airtime than painful inversions.
itsme102 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Oh come on! Those zero-g rolls were great. I dunno why but there was something about that inversion that I liked. Replacing them with stupid "humps" is a real downgrade in my book.
alpengeist04 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I can see this being Chiller's last chance. If it has major downtime this year, I think it will be removed in 2008/09 and replaced with a family ride or coaster. ...just like Derek was kidding about, or was he kidding.
Darien Laker Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 It's a good thing they removed those OTSR's. These new "humps" will probably provide some nice air time.
larrygator Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I'd be curious in hearing the real reason from SF for the change, not speculation. Personally I expect as much air as you get on the KK bunny hill, which is zilch. These new humps might be unpleasant going backwards.
GAcoaster Posted February 5, 2007 Author Posted February 5, 2007 Well, there is only one thing I can say: You have got to be kidding me. Shaprio and gang should definitely have a better reason than "it's not family friendly". From all accounts this is to fix the design flaw exposed last year with the incident. Apparently the rolls were putting too much stress on the train (as well as the riders). The decision may have been more on Premiere's part than Six Flags since the ride has been a lemon since it opened and they were probably threatened with legal action if they didn't do more to fix it. Of course now it will also not be able to get stuck upside down in the rolls with passengers stuck.
Tiburon503 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I think Six Flags *should* have removed B&R:TC, and sued Premiere Rides. Since its inception, the ride has been plagued with issues. It missed its entire opening season (minus 2 or 3 days in 1997). The ride is popular and intense, but I think Kingda Ka fills the void Chiller's removal would create. I simply believe Chiller will never perform reliably like its brothers in St. Louis and Texas. With all the rides being removed from SFGAdv. this off-season, I'd rather see Chiller join those ranks and utilize that cash to improve and/or fix some of the flats (like contracting Intamin to fix the Enterprise for starters).

coastermaster07 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I think it would be really kool if they re-modified it- Ihave'nt been on it but it looks fun
joedonuts1011 Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 This sucks! Considering I only got to ride the Batman side maybe twice (with the OTSRs), and every other time was the Robin side, with the lapbars. The ride is great, and the zero-g roll is amazing when you go backwards. Maybe the trains should be modified...NOT THE COURSE!
MattJackson Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Yeah, I will definately be missing the 0-g rolls on the rides, but it's not that bad. We'll get over it. It's like the double dip on Colossus being removed for another block. The 0-g rools will be removed for hill. Of course they say that Colossus sucks now, but I don't think that B&R will suffer as bad as a fate.
Jayjay719 Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Atleast Great Advanture isn't getting rid of Chiller, for now anyway.
crazyrider06 Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Atleast Great Advanture isn't getting rid of Chiller, for now anyway. you would be excited about that lol but thats ok cuz i am too
haux Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Does anyone know if the hill will be straight or slightly twisty with some banked track because the zero-G rolls were heartlined? Does that make any sense?
ElToroExtreme Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Most likely it will be banked because te tracks DONT line up!!! So yea!!!
MattJackson Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Yeah, the hills will be slightly banked to the left, then a little to the right.
Hercules Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 ^^Please, like the ride will actually ever be opened! Another 3 years they'll probably remove the whole thing and throw in one of them spinning family coasters. Exactly what I think, but everybody calls be looney.
