darklingscribe Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Looks like an Xtended SC 2000 from the side picture on their website.
Sheep-O-Matic Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Well, most of us were right about the spinning part. This looks very fun indeed. When I go to the Boardwalk in 2013, I'll give it a go for sure.
robbalvey Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 Looks like an Xtended SC 2000 from the side picture on their website. Yup. It's the same model as Waldameer...which is GREAT! Really fun ride!
Mrlittle Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Undertow - I like the cool name. Also looks like a fun coaster
Blue Fire Guy Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 This looks like a LOT of fun! This and Au13 both...is there a 2013 Bay Area Bash in the works?
CpBluestreakCp Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Great name and perfect addition. Looks like it will be a hit there.
robbalvey Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 ...is there a 2013 Bay Area Bash in the works? Maybe....
Angry_Gumball Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Well my guess was close enough! 2013's going to be awesome!
Double0Kevin Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 I'd be down for a BAB. I need some TPR event action in my life.
The Bebes Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Looks like an Xtended SC 2000 from the side picture on their website. Yup. It's the same model as Waldameer...which is GREAT! Really fun ride! Â Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved Waldameer's spinner!!! It was a total surprise!
Jew Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 ...is there a 2013 Bay Area Bash in the works? Maybe.... Â Between Superman, Au13, and now this...I'm in if this comes to be!
gisco Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Nice, I hope you can get this thing to really spin.
rcdude Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Undertow looks like an excellent addition to the park. I've been on a couple other identical coasters, and they were both good rides. It's not going to dethrone Giant Dipper as the park's best ride, but it will be a much better second coaster than Hurricane was. Â ...is there a 2013 Bay Area Bash in the works? Maybe.... Â If this happens, I am there. I've wanted to go to Bay Area Bash for a while, and each year something has prevented me from going. I'll just have to schedule my Northern California trip to coincide with the event.
cfc Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 This makes sense for Santa Cruz. Undertow is a clever name, too.
154bmag Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 This ride looks awesome! I can't wait to ride it!
CorkscrewFoley Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Looks dizzying, but definitely will be a fun ride...By the way, what is Au13?
robbalvey Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 By the way, what is Au13? http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1217272#p1217272
Noxegon Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Any information on whether this is a new ride or a second hand one?
redmenace8 Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Wow, that really is a great looking coaster, and what a great name, sometimes things just work.
PAL Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Just curious... Other than the slightly different ride experience from the seating position (inward vs outward facing) what are the price or operational differences between this Maurer Sohne model and the competing product from Gerstlauer (the Six Flags Pandemoniums)? The Maurer seems more commonly found at smaller parks. Less costly?
65skylark Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Very much looking forward to this ride! Loved the spinner at Waldameer. We are due for another trip down to NoCal next year.
TXman308 Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 So this basically confirms that SFMM's coaster is a premier? Â Never been on a Maurer Sohne spinner. How are they compared to the Gerstlauer ones?
SharkTums Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Never been on a Maurer Sohne spinner. How are they compared to the Gerstlauer ones? Â I much prefer the Maurer ones.
