djboss302
Pretty sure it's Chance-Morgan, as if you go to their website, you can see they still offer their roller coasters. But then again there's always a chance it could be a Vekoma. But anyways, it looks great! Hopefully I'll be able to stop by the park next year. A.J.
That's definitely a Morgan. It's about time that they built a coaster with trains that aren't massive like the ones on the hyper coasters (and Santa Monica West Coaster).
thrillseeker4552
Very neat little coaster! I can see some very good potential airtime moments. And boy is their website overloaded right now.... Can't load it at all!

cfc
^Yes, it appears to be one of these Chance models: http://www.chancerides.com/coasters/hyper_gtx.html Looking forward to riding it during Mini New Hotness.

vertigomkie
I'm just excited that they got this off the ground. To be honest though, if you look at the map [http://www.kentuckykingdom.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/KK_ParkMap_Web.pdf] it's looking for this to be more of the new Hurricane Bay & Kentucky Kingdom (not the other way around), which is probably a better way of getting people back through the gate. thrillseeker4552
^^^ Although I am curious why KK's model has inward guide rails (like Arrows) rather than the outward guide rails like the model shown on Chance's website.

coasterbill
I know the map is far from realistic, but that drop tower looks like a Larson tower based on the decorative piece on top. If that's the case that's awesome, those things are insane.
Midgetman82
^^Good official post. Now excuse me as I worship the park's new lineup.
IronWolfman
I was just wondering "What style/shaping is Lightning Run using? I've seen it before..." Then it hit me.. It looks like Phantoms Revenge! Which is good because that means lots and lots of ! Excited!!
booink
That's awesome news ! The layout of Lightning Run looks awesome, and I'm really happy to finally see a mega lite in the US ! Curious to see how the first Morgan Mega-Lite will perform...
themeparkgc
I know the map is far from realistic, but that drop tower looks like a Larson tower based on the decorative piece on top. If that's the case that's awesome, those things are insane. I think that's a pretty good guess. The picture on the park's website matches Larson's website and the height seems to also match. It also looks like Lightning Run will be the first Chance Rides Hyper GT-X Coaster.

Drbcoaster
Out of curiosity, does anyone know who's designing/building Lightning Run? It sorta looks like Chance Morgan's Hyper GT-X coaster model.

Top Thrill Dragster
Nice to see a new Morgan coaster. Its been close to 10 years since their last.
GigaG
Nice looking coaster. Hopefully it'll be on par with Intamin's mega-lites (a bit angry they didn't go with one of those.) Looks fun, and quite different than Chance-Morgan's older rides.
robbalvey
Surprised no one has mentioned this yet.... While *I* personally think it's great, does anyone else think it's sort of weird they are adding a drop tower for their re-opening year? Seems to me that's just asking for the press to bring up the accident. And that's only because the press are dumb and would be looking for a headline... Angry_Gumball
Lightning run...looks awesome and far more exciting than the initial Morgan Hyper Lite design I saw. Wonder if we will see more of their designs in the near future.
IronWolfman
^^It is kinda weird, but I think since this drop tower is so significantly different from the one that the accident occurred on, people may be able to tell the difference. Then again, people and the press are stupid so there may be some controversy. If the park had purchased an Intamin drop tower though, there would probably be some problems. no_brain_er
^That's more than likely the exact reason they didn't go with Intamin or a company whose tower looks similar. It really is hard to say at this point. That being said, this whole Kentucky Kingdom thing is looking pretty nice so far! I wish all the best for them. Myself
The park map shows it in a different place as well, which more than likely is related. That coaster looks awesome.
