RoCo Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Heck yes, we need more "family" coasters like this! Looks really fun! Also: "fart." Because I have the intellectual maturity of a 12-year-old still.
cfc Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Also: "fart." Because I have the intellectual maturity of a 12-year-old still. Or of BGW's creative staff.
coast4airtime Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 This is going to be a capacity nightmare.
Norwegian coasterfan Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 This is going to be a capacity nightmare. Not really, i was there two weeks ago and there where many people. Falken only have one train but the line never got more than 20 minutes. So i think this will be the same.
SharkTums Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 ^Exactly. I'm guessing that poster just doesn't know anything about the park.
gisco Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Can't wait to check it out with TPR in 2014! When can we send a trip deposit?
Coastinmiller Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Can't wait to check it out with TPR in 2014! Have the wife talked into it already thanks to Leviathan Bash. Any age restrictions for the trip?
SharkTums Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 ^Nope, the little ones would be welcome and will have a great time with KT and others!
coast4airtime Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 ^Exactly. I'm guessing that poster just doesn't know anything about the park. One train operation doesn't seem to have the highest capacity potential. I know that in American parks, 1 train operation makes the line a lot longer.
SharkTums Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 ^This is not an American park, it's filled with people who know how to quickly load a coaster and ride operators who care about their job and do their best to hustle. It's also not a giant park, or a park that people go to for the roller coasters.
Coastinmiller Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 ^Nope, the little ones would be welcome and will have a great time with KT and others! Sweet. Looking forward to it.
SNJ Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Looks great. I'm with SharkTums, I love suspended coasters with a lap bar.
11slataus Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Does anyone know if this or any other Vekoma "suspended" coasters actually swing? Because Vekoma calls all their inverted coasters suspended. I'm just wondering as the Reptar/Snoopy junior coaster at Carowinds definitely did not swing. Are the newer models any different or are they just kiddie inverts? I realize that Chessington's Vampire swings, but any more?
milst1 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 This is a perfect addition for the park! Love these rides when they have the lap bars only. Can't wait to check it out with TPR in 2014! Agreed that it's a great addition. Awesome park with lots of natural charm!

I realize that Chessington's Vampire swings, but any more? I don't think theses things swing at all judging by videos of Steel Lasso at Frontier City and Kvasten at Gröna Lund or they swing a little bit but it is not enough to notice. And Vampire at Chessington is not a Vekoma, it's an Arrow that uses trains built by Vekoma. However, Vekoma did make a similar design in the 1980s http://www.rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&mo=8260.
Nrthwnd Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 (edited) This is the family suspended coaster we rode during the 2008 TPR Europe Tour... At Movie Park Germany - Atomic Flyer Also Vekoma? I don't know, myself. Great to ride, even without inversions. And the absence of shoulder restraints? Heaven! A great family coaster. Is it Vekoma too? (Sorry, I should look it up myself - but, what are TPR friends for, hmm? ) Edited August 19, 2012 by Nrthwnd

I don't know, myself. Great to ride, even without inversions. And the absence of shoulder restraints? Heaven! Yeah, it's a Vekoma family suspended coaster. And if I'm right it was the first with the new lap bar restraints instead of the ots restraints. I could be wrong though Edit: Just a little add on. I really like the look and layout of this for a nice family coaster. And from what I've heard about the park, it seems to be a perfect addition
Nrthwnd Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Can't wait to check it out with TPR in 2014! Damn. Everything I just read, in this thread - went out the window, in my head!
Werner Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 This looks like a great new ride for this park, getting higher and higher om m wish list of parks to visit!
Movieguy Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 It's a good thing, for Joey's sake, that they didn't add a new set of monkey bars to the park. Anyway, neat looking coaster.
ArrowHater Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Are those chrome painted supports?! That would be amazing if they actually were. Such a sleek look.
