P. 274: Pipeline photos & Howl-O-Scream trip report!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Visiting the park for the first time on Monday the 20th, which is President's Day. We only have about 4 hours as we head to the airport in the evening. Should I expect to be able to hit all the coasters plus Infinity Falls? Is there a good plan of attack? And is there any scheduled ride closures? I can't find anything on their website so I assume we are good there.

Even on a crowded day Infinity Falls might be the only thing with any kind of a significant wait time. They usually don't open that ride with the park, if I recall they open that area of the park about an hour later so if your riding Mako around 9:45 or so you can get over to Infinity Falls when it opens shortly after 10. If you're at the park when they open at 9 am it's pretty easy to grab a few rides on Manta, Kraken, and Mako within the first hour.

Be ready to buy Quick Queue. Then you’re fine…

If you don’t want to do that, see my locker trick above.

I know at Busch Gardens Williamsburg there is an option to buy a one time one ride quick queue at many of the major attractions for like $5. Is that an option here too?

Also I'm not seeing your "locker trick" you referred to?

Sorry, that was a different thread I guess. Yeah, rent an unnecessary locker and then buy a single use line skip. As-of a few weeks ago it did not work for Ice Breaker. Don't bother asking employees for help, none of them know that this is a thing. This should not surprise anyone because... SeaWorld. lol

  • 3 weeks later...

When I was there I December, I'd have ridden it more than once if it weren't for the uncomfort collars. This would be a welcome change. I also wonder if they'll be able to lower the minimum rider height back to previews levels with their removal.

I was just there last week and got my first ride on ice breaker, definitely agree that the ride would be much better without those collars. I still wouldn't wait more than 10 minutes to ride it no matter the restraints.

Also rode Mako again, not sure if they have been off for awhile now cause I hadn't been on the ride for a few years but the screens above the ride that use to show water with sharks swimming around was off.

Mako is still such a fun ride, it's amazing that every time I've been there it always takes longer to walk through the queue than to wait for an actual train to get on.

The new stand up really changes the front entrance of the park when you're walking to security / ticket entrance. I didn't realize that's where they were putting it but it looks like a fun layout and gets down near the water too.

Going to swo for the first time in like 6 years. Excited for Icebreaker. I know a long shot but would love to ride a soft open the bouncy stand up

(Screen cap from a video they just uploaded)

Ice Breaker is back open with no comfort collars, an added seatbelt, and a 48" height requirement!

Also: Pipeline: The Surf Coaster made it's first full circuit test run!

Exciting stuff!
