simon8899
I think the "Thrill Lift" isn't a bad idea as long as its well engineered and regulary tested by independent state-employed engineers like the TÜV in germany... Okay incidents can still happen - but I trust those TÜV engineers more than those employed by the parks themselves.
AllenA07
I believe I have a copy of that catalog some where. The tilt lift coaster was an interesting idea, I distinctly remember it getting a lot of buzz on the web after some of the pictures of it got out. coasterbill
Their copy writer / PR guy needs a raise. They just made me want to buy a Boomerang. lol
beatle11
Here's the infamous one of a kind tilt coaster: Gravity Max at Discovery World in Taiwan. The park even sells disposable underwear in the gift shop for riders of this thing.
netdvn
With all this hype going into drop track, I'm surprised more parks haven't capitalized on the thrill lift/tilt coaster concept. It looks like a totally unique, terrifying, one of a kind experience. Maybe a Chinese/stateside park can pick one of these up. A lot of those other Vekoma concepts look pretty cool too (like the 10 inversion roller coaster).
KickTheSky
This ride is fascinating Great stuff, per usual, Shane!
DBJ
Imo, the tilt coaster would be great in for a dark / indoor coaster concept. Make a great suprise element in the overall experience. Maybe use smaller trains so the moving track doesn't have to support so much weight. Great seeing those pics, thanks.
cfc
Hmm--I guess lifting the whole train "horizontally" didn't quite work out (except in RCT 3), based on those videos. The chainlift combined with the "tilt track" would be a bit more practical, I guess, but this thing still looks like a maintenance nightmare. A.J.
I wish Vekoma would have went forward with the train design for Gravity Max. I think it looks a lot better than the sideless trains they put on Rolling X Train and PowerPark's boomerang.
DougMJr
My only concern is exactly how securely the train is kept on the tilt track... I see it looks like there is some sort of mechanical arm that swings out in front of the train and makes contact with the front bumber in addition to the friction brakes. I'd take the credit, but I wouldn't push my luck with a re-ride.
Tanks4me05
^Oh, I'd push my luck for a re-ride. There's the squeeze brakes, that BIG metal piece that comes up to block the front bumper, and there's also a Boomerang style hook thing on the back of the train: http://rcdb.com/1357.htm?p=18455
UnderCoverDrummer1
Ditto, this ride is definitely on the coaster bucket list!
beatle11
^Just be sure it's the last one on the list. In all actuality though, it's actually safer than it looks.
coasterbill
^Oh, I'd push my luck for a re-ride. Sure about that? Even if it is safe, that would still mean you'd be re-riding a Vekoma looper.
simon8899
I lately rode a Boomerang with those new trains featuring "seatbelt"-otsr - and it was quite enjoyable...
gisco
Gravity Max is definitely on my ride bucket list. It would be very hard to pass up a TPR trip that stops in Taiwan.

SoCalCoasters
I love the Thrill Lift concept... It's too bad Vekoma never went further than a prototype...
DougMJr
Gravity Max looks like it has an awesome layout though, that 90* drop into that underground tunnel. And if it is smooth, maybe... Maybe I could risk a re-ride. Still not sure how I feel about it.
montezooma
CHANCEMORGAN Here is a short, quick weekend update of you…a look at an old Chance/Morgan product catalog. I really wish Morgan was building more coasters. Their trains suck (both on wood and steel) but the rides are pretty awesome. That Superman coaster down in Mexico is way underated…Great ride! Anyone know what Morgan is up to these days? Are they even still in business? Coming up this week a look at Carowinds, around the time they transitioned from an independent park to a part of the Taft Corp. Have a great Haloweekend everyone! Jew
The only new Chance ride I can think of in the last few years is that they sold a few of those "unicoaster" flat rides. I'm guessing they've sold a few of the KMG fireballs in the U.S. as well. One thing I didn't know until looking at their website, it looks like they sell (maybe manufacture in the U.S.?) Vekoma roller skater and junior suspended coasters too!
Rollercoaster Rider
DH Morgan has 2 good coasters IMO but their others are pretty meak (Steel Force and Wild Thing are dull personally) but Phantom's Revenge and Mamba are pretty good. Unless TPR does a Trip through Mexico, starting in Texas; I'll probably never get to SFMex
Geauga Dog
Also to note on their website they've dropped "Morgan" and are now only going by the name of Chance Rides. For those who have ridden their Aviator, how is it? I saw the one at Kings Dominion back in 2003 but didn't get to ride it. In a certain way it's sad to see how these companies no longer offer their long line of products. Chance and Huss both have downsized their product lines over the years. DenDen
The only new Chance ride I can think of in the last few years is that they sold a few of those "unicoaster" flat rides. And it's really not "theirs". US Thrill Rides licenses it to them. http://www.usthrillrides.com/products/unicoaster
