BarryH Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Honestly, the Park at the MOA is the last place I would expect a Eurofighter to be installed. But if Robb said it's coming, then it's true. So I'm happy for them that they are installing one! OK, 2008 coaster trip will be to the MOA and the surrounding parks!
pvcoasterguy Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Looks like a cool addition! My experience with (what was then) Camp Snoopy was great. Minimal lines, fun rides, and good staff. I was pleasantly suprised. Hopefully this will make it even better.
coaster05 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I know they lost the peanuts license, but I did not know they were struggling. It was very busy on a nice day in the middle of summer when I went there. I would have never even thought that. Either way this is great news for one of my most surprisingly goo park trips ever.
DerekRx Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Wow, looks like after 27 years of never going to this mall (I hate malls), I'm going to probably be making 2 trips there in 2 years straight! I love it when parks announce stuff early, it gives me a chance to plan way ahead!
Hercules Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Wow. This is absoultely unbelieveable news. I will definately have to make it out here at some point now. This looks awesome.
haiderodes Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Now if we could only get The Adventuredome to add one of these instead of more flat rides.
Meteornotes Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I've never been to this mall or park, but this addition would make visiting the place worthwhile. dt
DarkStitch626 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 This ride looks promising. I like the idea of it being in the mall haha.
waterviper Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Doesn't open until 2008, but still...this is very good news! --Robb Any new roller coaster opening is very good news!! But this looks like a great idea! I say it should be a requirement for all malls to have a coaster in them!
Airtime&Gravity Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Good news for the park, and hopefully this will be more of a thrill ride than a family ride. While it will be small, I hope they find a way to use what little space they have for a quality ride.

So I'm happy for them that they are installing one! OK, 2008 coaster trip will be to the MOA and the surrounding parks! For once I'm going to actually agree with Barry!! One of the last places I would expect a new Eurofighter to pop up in. But very cool all the same, I've always thought MoA/Camp Snoopy/whatever was like a tiny piece of heaven for me: mall + amusement park...
steel Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 So when do we all think The Park at MOA will "officially" announce this on their site. I would imagine that we will have to wait for a while - at least until 2007.

We will be more then happy to take you there Lou whenever you come to the states. Melanie and I have been wanting to go back, so this new ride will definately make it happen.
RaptorBoyASU Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I haven't been to this mall since 1996, and back then I didn't get on any of the rides, so I'll definitely try to plan a trip there in the next few years with the addition of this one.
Scaparri Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Holy freakin' crap! That's awesome! Are they expanding the place somehow, 'cause it seemed when I went the room was spent. That really is great though. Amusement area maybe small, but it's really neat and I definitely enjoyed my visits there a few years ago.
rollermonkey Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Triple Five (The sole owners and now sole managers of the MOA) announced this as part of the Phase II expansion. Don't expect this to be in the 'old' Camp Snoopy area. For that matter, I wouldn't expect it to open on time either!
40belowbeef Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Woohoo! Its about time. I knew there was a reason I moved to Minneapolis. Renegade in 2007 at Valleyfair and now this. Exciting. Go buy shoes, ride euro-fighter, dinner at Tucchi Benuch...now thats a way to finish off a day after work in the winter. It actually does say that it will be in the 'old Camp Snoopy' area. Not in part of the new construction. The phase 2 construction is not supposed to be done until 2010. From Pioneer Press: 'Mall officials said they would invest $25 million into new rides and attractions at the Park at MOA over the next 18 months. Construction is expected to begin next year on a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter roller coaster. Gerstlauer is a German designer and manufacturer of amusement rides. The roller coaster is expected to debut in 2008.'

I am pretty sure they are taking out Mystery Mine Ride and a couple other buildings to fit it in. It will be right along that wall next to Ripsaw's station.
mcjaco Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 As I was just up there (check my PTR), I'm trying to figure out how this would fit. Stuff has got to be coming out. The place is packed already. This will make my annual trip up there even more enjoyable! It's one of the few places where my wife can go shopping and I can go ride. Wife and husband happy at a mall = priceless!!!
Golfie Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 OMGOMGOMG!!! YES! A euro-fighter within close proximity!
Thrillrider15 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 ......... Well, I didn't jump up like I did for Renegade, because I didn't know anything about this until now. This coaster looks exciting! I've always wanted one of these at a park close to me!
okinawaboy11 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Sweeet. I wonder how high it will be and if there will be inversions.
KrakenKing Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Sweeet. I wonder how high it will be and if there will be inversions. If you looked at the pics, there are three inversions. A loop, a cutback, and a zero-g roll.
jamesdillaman Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Did I read correctly that this was going to be built in the area where the darkride is now? -James Dillaman
Mark Rosenzweig Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 i believe the rides area allows for five stories -james dillaman More like 90 feet. The Zamperla Rotoshake ("Mighty Axe) stands 82 ft tall. So, the Euro Fighter could have an 80 ft lift. -Mark
