P. 2037: Siren’s Curse tilt coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

2 of the trains are now on the track and testing should begin in a few weeks. The LED lights look cool being situated on the sides of the seats, and the "big boy" seats are in row 4.http://www.cedarpoint.com/blog-article/online-fun/These-Trains-Are-On-Track

Ha, like how in the top picture, the train looks like it keeps going on forever with 2 of them on the storage track like that! I really can't wait to see this fly across the whole front of the park. This is certainly the facelift Cedar Point has been needing for years and Gatekeeper is perfect to do so!

I don't know if I'm having a smart moment or a dumb moment, but is the reason they named the coaster GateKeeper because the keyholes (and coaster!) are the main part of the new front gate to the park? Or is that just pure coincidence? (Or has that been really obvious all along and you're now all laughing at me? :$)

I think they planned for the name to match up with the keyholes. However, I heard it was going to be called Lotan (another name for Leviathan, I think) instead of Gatekeeper before the announcement. And it's alright, I'm not laughing at you

Well, it's Gatekeeper cause of course it flies over the main gate, as if it is "protecting" the park. I'm sure the keyholes were just pure coincidence since the name of keyholes were around before GateKeeper was. But, pretty cool how it all goes together, I was a fan of the name more than Lotan. Whether or no that was actually considered or pure speculation.

Opps, I think I worded my question wrong, haha. I didn't even know the keyholes had names. I meant how the coaster goes through the keyholes over the front gate. But even with my bad explanation, your first sentence answers my question

Since it's against the rules to double post, thank you to CoasterKing48 for answering me too! I think Lotan would be a cool name too, especially since they named their coaster last year Leviathan (which I got to ride a total of 47 times last summer!).

Fast lane pricing for 2013 is up: www.cedarpoint.com/things-to-do/fast-lane

Regular Fast Lane is now $75, new 'Fast Lane Plus' option includes TTD and GateKeeper for $90 (but cheaper if you buy more than one). A similar Fast Lane Plus option will be available at Kings Island and Kings Dominion for an extra $10 as well, with The Beast, Firehawk, I305 and Volcano being exclusive.

So clearly they're trying to balance the demand. Higher pricing means less people will buy one but that in turn increases the value for those who purchase the pass, which is a good thing. Best way to skip lines is still to go on a quiet day though...

$75?

Sheesh...

And TTD and Gatekeeper are not included and require the more expensive one?

God damn it.

Well, that kinda sucks, 50 a person was at least acceptable but that's quite a pretty penny, and while we try to go on quiet days the onlt time all 4 of us are available is early August...Gunna be packed then right?

And it really sucks my friends are so impatient, over 45 mins = no good for them : /

Those are problably the "starting at" prices, if you buy say 4, like last year the price will be significantly lower. For Cedar Point I still think $65 is a great and reasonable price for front of the line at ALL the major coasters at the park.

Really if an extra $25 is going to kill you and create such a rant maybe you shouldn't be going on a trip. Or go on a Friday in August when they're only $65 each for four people buying!

I can't believe the complaining about an awesome system that will make your day fantastic.

Can't wait to buy these for all of our Texas Midwest Trip Participants so they can have an amazing day at the Point!

Yeah I just checked for 4 people and it'd only $60 per person then (I've never had a fast pass before total n00b!) Well, with the hour early access we can knock out Gatekeeper and TTD and save the cheaper pass for all the other rides.

Yeah, I still wanna do it because we are staying one day and that's just not enough to get everything done, and we'd like multiple rides since we're coming 9 hours away in my case lol!

What can ya do? Supply and demand always wins.

Well to be fair ST, we can't go on a Friday...we are poor kids recently out of college and have limited $ and vaca days. (Plus other things and one of us has a wife) First August weekend is pretty much only time we're all free/will have the means.

We're still getting them fear not. Oh and I needa save a few bucks for a fast pass on WCB

Trains on the transfer / storage track.

2 Gatekeeper trains on track. Here is a quote from the Cedar Point blog from yesterday 3/21.

Two of GateKeeper's trains are now assembled and on the storage track awaiting their first command. Which, in a few weeks, will be actual testing.
